@@rmp5s You might wanna look into the backface deformation of the HHV ballistic helmets brother, heard that they're not so good. Bumps are totally fine though. Just a heads up
Love this down to earth easy going talk, the more it is like this the better, the clearer they are, the best to listen. I like this not extremely packed videos, it's like they invited us in the living room. They are out of the box, and this is what makes what they share unique.
@@nikanor8152 it was a joke about GBRS being hype-monsters and having a culture like following. I didnt say "some people" will be taking them off. Of course it's been done a lot in the past.
You know it! I was planning on attaching my Sordin's to my helmet but the only way to do that is to void my 5 year warranty... So underneath my helmet they go.
Thanks for the knowledge transfer gents much appreciated! listening to the ones who have the experience is where it's at. And also thank you for doing what you do.🇺🇸👍
Just found this channel and it’s my favorite hands down the best ,actually learning about tactical advantages that will make a difference and possibly save your life is a game changer
For my job I have to wear peltors under an ACH quite often for extended periods of time. This is some great advice for me as I do get those really bad peltor migraines. I guess I need to keep messing around with it. Keep the vids coming it's very helpful 👍
I cut the Worm Dial liner on my FAST earlier because retention headaches from under helmet comms are the worst. Stumbled upon this video and gained complete reassurance. Thanks for the knowledge drop gentleman🤙🏽
Running over the heads under the helmets was interesting to see - didn't expect there to be enough room even with the padding across the top removed. (My IRL experience with helmets ended back in 2000, when I got out.)
I feel like an utter cherry. Thank u for the helmet class. I’m pre-“nods for all “ military . Pretty sure we had one starlight per platoon…😕. . Love the present warfighting gear evolution.
Pretty help full information for anyone who uses these. The Australian Army Infantry use Team Wendy helmets with Wilcox shrouds and mounts to connect the dual tube L-3 PVS-31A. I had a watered down soldiers 5 on the mount and NVG to get qualified to use them. so I was always wondering what half those knobs on the mounting systems do.
Any chance you all could do more on NODs and little tips/tricks with NV? Would be much appreciated! Thanks for all the info. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all.
Good timing on this video, I'm in the process of getting a helmet setup and its frustrating trying to get it perfect. I'm running a single PVS 14 and trying to get it lined up perfectly with my left eye has been a challenge.
Good idea however I doubt they will share how they rocked it in the teams especially during their time in Devgru. Maybe they might share some tips from their earlier days in other seal teams but Devgru way of doing things is a no go I think. If they can share then you can bet your ass I will be paying close fucking attention.
@@ruanjacobs9900 I’m not saying like show what equipment and how it works because stuff like that is ITAR restricted, I was more along the lines of wire management jerry rigging things to make sense, etc.
Them talking about the break away function reminded me of the time the mount came off just from the bungee rention during training and it left a cut under my eye cause i forgot eye pro. Now I don't use the break away unless situation calls for it, or if I have eye pro
i think a product what would solve the Shroud issue would be an extended dovetail. the g69 or whatever where the mount+shroud are one Piece are cool since its lowpro but have fun breaking your neck due to there being no break away. the normal Opscore mount has the Pvs31 sitting to faar forward. so just a dovetail (the piece on the Nods that slots into the mount) thats just somwhat longer so the 31s sit further back would sord that out. only would need to be like half an inch more or so. maybe something yall can send towards Wilcox or whatever.
🤣 dude I am sitting here trying to set my budget to get into the game and I am like “well if we don’t do sh!+ for about 2-3 years I can make this work.” 😬
@@griffey11 🤔 both I guess. I have some firearms set up (sling and weapon mounted light) but as far as IR laser and helmet/night vision set up I have not jumped in because pretty much everyone says to buy once cry once.
Alright since it’s kinda on topic I’ll ask here. Have any of y’all ever had peltors fail from sweat? I noticed he said it’ll be completely sweat filled inside. I had a pair that stopped being “active hearing protection” but they never saw any abuse minus being on my head the entire shift.
I have the Wilcox G24 and don't use the break-a-way, I have double sided tape on the mount plus my bungee retention holding it firm, then use WrangleStar bungees holding my NVG's.
What would you suggest for getting good eye relief but still allowing articulation? Mine will hit the brim of my helmet stopping them from rotating up all the way
What about the purple unicorn horn that mounts on the front, none of those badboys, no just kidding 😂 cool video I enjoy learning as much as I can and you guys put out alot of pertinent info . Cool beans man
Perhaps it is A stupid question but I'll ask it. Why not A fell face helmet? Or A gorget on the front plate for neck protection? Armor still too heavy leading to too much weight on the neck???
Not really. They are not designed to have some sort of dampening like motorcycle helmets. They do soften the blow with good padding but won't prevent high energetic trauma.
I always threw blue loctite on the NOD mount screws (old MICH/ ACH helmet system, bitch had some weight but those mounts saved lives on their own too when they caught a round crazy enough), never had an issue with the mount going loose. K.I.S.S..
@GBRS Group I have scrolled through the comments. I don't know if anyone has asked, but what is your take on umbrella torch mounts on the back of your helmet? You have a battery pack, counterweights (sometimes at least), cable routing, a tourniquet (which is interesting; never seen that done before, but it makes sense.)
Wierd question hoping someone could help me here. I’m getting an Opscore helmet and I see in this video they’re all using the worm dial. Is that the more preferred system or the occ dial?
It's funny that this guy prefers no arc rails because I've done the same thing and there are many benefits to doing that, that he mentioned in this video. I found a mich 2001 for $100 a few years ago and modded and made it specifically fit me and haven't looked back.
Ok I got to ask? Jack carr and now I'm seeing it on here. And yeah I know it's badass but what's up with the Wilkinson axe? Nasty looking but $850 it really out of our reach for most kind of like a Randell knife.
What pouches are attached to the old FAST MT at 9:20 mark? It looks like the Ops-Core FAST Mesh ANVIS battery pouch with unknown tourniquet holder velcroed/tied above it; any clarification would be appreciated!
Air Force has spent a bizzillon dollars on human factors reasearch espically in fighter pilot helmet tech. Maybe have your ALSE shop call their ASLE shop because there are way sexier options for you and you are worth it!
