- Hey buddy, Dash from Florida GC8 Crew here: Just wanted to let you know those are not 2005 WRX window switches. Those are actually GC-chassis switches and will work on a 2.5RS however those are from the 4-door version and that is why they won't work on your coupe (2-door). To be more specific those are 1997-2001 Impreza L sedan (4-door) switches and came on both the impreza L and the Outback Sport OBS. The grey trim color was present on those models since the RS was the only trim that came with black interior. *Keep up the great work dude!
This video is so helpful! Thank you so much. I have issue for power window switch on my 18 STi while applying sound deadening materials on driver side door. I keep searching and couldn’t find solution. Your video pop out while I search the power window connector for Subaru. Finally I check the D7 connector and find that all pins are very loose and it making driver side windows up and auto up not working. So using your guide, I unlock the connector and put each pin back in right place. One comment is, my connector housing doesn’t have the square lock. Instead, it lock when the top piece of it snap in. Your content is so useful and as well as website with services manual! Appreciated!
That's so awesome you have all the service manuals hosted! I've been slowly collecting them on a hard drive from various sources myself. Crazy how many different versions there can be for even the same years. Nice video!
Thanks man!!! Yes, and all in expanded PDFs, so cell phones or tables can easily load everything quickly. Makes it so much fast to load and easier to use!!! Cheers man!
Just some quick tidbits for people: Not sure if I missed this but when testing your window switches, its best to plug both passenger and drivers sides in. If you want to run the passenger side window, the GND and PWR run through both switches so if you don't plug them in there will be an open connection. The drivers side window will work with just the drivers side switch installed. 2008 Forester passenger DOOR LOCK switch (the white internals) has the same pinout, plug and dimensions as the passenger side WINDOW switch in the RS Coupe (and I assume the 99-01 as well). Obviously you need your old switch and housing but if the internals are busted you can pull the internals from the lock switch. Door lock PN: 83071SA160
Hard to find the drivers switch. The passenger switch cover is still available at some dealerships. Grab one now if you need it, they won’t be around much longer!!!
hello, i h ave a problem with my altima...i cut the window switch connector because i was going to install a new one.. the problem is that now i dont know how to to connect them back...because i have 2 blue wires and 2 black wires...i dont know what black to black and what blue to blue wires to connect because i did not take a picture before....is there a way to know what wire is the correct one to connect???? 2014 nissan altima left front door
The switches have little plastic tangs built in that snap into the slots on the door panel. Video with all details coming very soon - stay tuned. Cheers!
@@SubaruONLY if you show some way to keep those panels from rattling, you are a god. The closest I can think to do is get some thin foam craft sheets with a stick backing and make a custom pad that matches the switch plate to go between the door panel arm rest and the switch.
No sure of the question exactly. But I do have factory service manuals you can reference at SubaruONLY.com - if that would help. Have all years and models, FYI. Easy to look up and all ready to view as PDFs (no need to unzip any files, makes it easy to use from mobile devices).
@@SubaruONLY I'm sorry, I have a wrx sti 2011 G3, on the driver's side the control buttons on the windows have a connector, while I was removing the door panel the colored wires came out from the button connector, and now I don't know what the colors were. In this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ObWstR_Ef_M.html&lc=UgxNxOVvXDaH2SClXGl4AaABAg at 3:26 the connector appears
@@SubaruONLY thanks for the manual, on page 3257 the D07 connector appears, the manual is WRX STI 2011 USDM, but I didn't understand which colors to put for each number 1-2-3 .... etc
If you send some pics of the manual figures (wiring diagrams), I’ll try to help interpret them for you. Send to my email and I’ll take a look for you. SubaruOnlyShop@gmail.com That FSM wiring diagram should tell us what color and what pin location goes where. Cheers!
I cant get the wiring diagram to open, all I see is one page. Big sad right now trying to test my switches and don't want to have to buy a service manual. EDIT: only the 2008 stuff is not there, checked the 2011 but it seems the plug is a bit different so not sure if it will work so if you have a 2008 you're sol..
