This is a tutorial on how to fix the handle on a general electric overhead microwave. The whole project will take about 30 minutes - 1 hour depending on skill. All you need is a screwdriver and a small putty knife.
Disclaimer: Jake gently “encouraged” me to make this video against my will on a Sunday morning with no shower. He did help me so it was worth it. i’m glad I have my microwave back.

Thank you so very much for this video. I looked up several different videos and yours was the best by far! Hardest parts for me was removing that metal framey thing and would you believe it.... getting the door BACK on the microwave. Thanks again! Excellent job!!!

Thank you for the video and the detailed instructions, very easy to follow and figure out on my own. I spent $18 on door handle/bracket parts on eBay instead of the very costly OEM parts on the GE website. Thanks!

That was very helpful,thanks. I had a little trouble putting the door,but on top of the door there’s a plastic vent with two little screws,I removed it and makes the job a lot easier.👍🏻

Good tip! I’ve seen about 10 slight variations of this microwave, I’m not sure if ours has a vent or not.. but it’s nice that generally this video covers the fundamentals of the repair.

When taking the door off, the bottom metal bracket got bent downward. I tried to straighten it, but I cant get the door on, or get it to close properly! What do I do now???!!!

Where did you buy your replacement door supports? I can only find the DF3WW. Will those work for the DF4WW? Thank you your video is very informative.

Thank you for such a detailed video. I was able to order the parts SUPER cheap on Amazon compared to GE website. I was able to follow along and completed this project all on my own! Thank you again!
