Jess Phillips takes Birmingham Yardley from Liberal Democrat John Hemming, with a majority of over 6,500. The former councillor will now be MP for the constituency. She was mobbed by a large crowd of supporters and press immediately after making her victory speech, and dashed home to be with her family.
