My son and I returned for the last leg of a Europe trip a few years back. On that night it rained real hard as we arrived. Able to pitch tent then unpack gear under cover in the rain ... Fabulous ! Mine is the Redverz tent, but similar style and size to your Mototent ! A suitable sized piece of Thin foam pad is great for stopping the chair sinking into soft ground, also for kneeling on while shifting around and extra butt insulation on a cold night. Thanks.
Might I suggest that you always use the side stand when parking in that orientation inside the tent ? That is so your bike safely leans AWAY from the sleeping area ? Way too risky balancing the big GS on the centre stand on soft ground. Thanks for the video !
Thanks for the great review! This really helped me in my journey to look for the perfect adventure tent. Quick question, I have bought a ural 2020 sportsman. Will this motorcycle (with the sidecar) fit in this tent? On their website they have a mototent available with a ural inside of it, but I need to be sure ;) Have a nice day!
Thanks, glad you liked it! Hmmm, I'm not sure about that. You will have to send them a message. I didn't measure the garage and I don't see those dimensions on the website.
The tent looked so good I went and bought one... but it blew over the first night (most likely operator error, but the tent's got all the aerodynamics of a spinnaker). Please let me know what you'd recommend to make the tent stable and secure in high winds? Thanks!
It could work for two, but you wouldn’t have as much room for gear if you want to bring it inside. It’s more compact to carry though, so it’s a trade off.
I have to decide between this and the Redverz Atacama. This is a little lighter and cheaper in the UK, the Atacama looks more rugged. I didn't notice a mesh screen at the back door. This would be vital in hot climates to allow a draught through without letting in pests.
Great tent but really expensive!😱🤷♂️ I understand its quality and everything is dollar in materials, I couldn’t see if there was any vents in the main cabin? Just thinking of condensation?🤷♂️🤔 Great review thanks for taking the time 👌👌👍🇬🇧
I have the same tent and have used it for motocamping for two seasons. It does not have vents in the main cabin however, I have never had any condensation on the inside of the main cabin and I have been camping in the fall in Ontario, Canada. Hope that helps.
I’ve got one , it has big mesh windows back and front , zero condensation8 min set up and best thing you can stand get changed in it and cook , no more kneeling for me , get one you won’t regret it 🇬🇧
A couple straps and it fits nicely on the back of my 1200 GSA. instagram.com/p/CNgagkhs3oU/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= If you need a smaller one, then get the ADV Tent. It’s a nice tent as well. 👍
I nearly pulled the trigger on one of these a while ago. But then i decided to spend the money on a better tent to live in, and a £15 cover for the bike.
It’s been a while since this review - how are you getting on with this tent - quality/durability? Do you think the second ground sheet is worth it when not parking the bike inside?
It’s been a great tent. I was impressed with the quality in the beginning and it’s still holding up well. Yeah if you are using the garage side for sleeping or other storage, then having another ground cloth would be nice.
