Been wanting saddle bags for a while, can’t decide to spend a little or a lot. Those look like they fit the bike well 👍

They held up well during the trip. I didn’t want to spend big dollars on them. the racks and bags are expensive. the bagless are expensive. These were $130 US. thought I’d give them a try.

Flat gas tank in back... if you don't get it absolutely full, the action of the fluid inside will break the motorcycle ! I found out the hard way on KTM 690, sheared off the mounting plate bolts. On the 390 I have gone to a Nelson Rigg Tailbag which holds (3) 1500 ml aluminum fuel bottles (1.2 gal)... (Tailbag holds a lot more). More than enough fuel for the 390. Tailbag and the Fuel Bottles are available on Amazon.

that’s crazy. I had it full and added fuel on my second day. so half full and there was no issue. It didn’t feel any different riding. I will keep that in mind!

I have a 66 liter Wild Heart roll top dufflel bag that I use on the rear rack and pillion of my G310GS when moto camping. It's sufficient for warm weather camping but just barely. I've done some winter moto camping (08DEC23 in the Hoosier National Forest) that I wasn't expecting to do and there wasn't room for my winter sleeping bag, but even when not winter camping there is usually something that requires more space, despite my ultralight philosophy. I recently tried 28L (14L per side) Rhinowalk panniers but didn't like the way they fit so I'm semi-permanently mounting two 30L Givi roll top bags as waterproof panniers. They'll stay on the bike all the time, and will be mostly empty when carrying my tool roll, rain suit, first aid kit, straps, etc. They look lower profile than the Wild Heart panniers. I'll add the 66L tailbag for moto camping. That'll allow me to carry the heavy items lower and have one pannier for wet stuff (water, rain suit, hammock rain fly, etc.). I'll make a video soon of the Givi lightweight "pannier" mounting. I think you need a couple of more rolls on the roll top pannier closures for them to be waterproof, although it's probably sufficient to shed rain as panniers. They won't be submerged. I'm very much looking forward to your Moab videos. I saw a video of a guy who rode solo into the desert near Moab and drank all his water the first day. He camped that night and tried to ride the next day with no water. He got his bike stuck with the rear wheel buried to the axle in sand. He tried to dig it out for 90 minutes as the temperature rose to 106 F. Some 4WD guys came by, gave him 2 liters of their water and pulled him out. They told him the way he was going was the expert trail and was much more difficult than what he'd done. They talked him into doubling back. They probably saved his life. "I mostly rely on the kindness of strangers" is not a successful desert survival strategy. Even though it's heavy, bring a LOT of water. Be careful with those alloy rims in the desert. You should be OK if you go slow and avoid big rocks or ruts.

I was worried about the rims as well. Not any more. I beat the crap out of them, hit boulders lol and huge ruts and bottomed out the suspension a lot on this trip and they made it without issue. I am heavy and was also carrying about 75 extra lbs on it as well. Can you post a link of the video for the guy that got stuck? I went through almost 2 liters the first day and it was only 65F. I can only imagine 80, 90, or 100. The sun beats down on you even in the lower tempos.

@@Sasqmoto - A friend's brother-in-law hit a pothole with his G310GS and cracked the front rim. Apparently speed is more of a factor than the size of the object, so I avoid fast off road (I'm old so I was already doing that to keep from breaking ME) and I avoid big pot holes on the road. BMW should offer a G310GS Adventure, with a 5 gallon fuel tank, aluminum bash plate, tubeless spoke wheels and maybe a tall adjustable windscreen, better suspension, USB charging ports.... For the attempted suicide Moab video, search RU-vid for "STUCK, ALONE, AND OUT OF WATER // TAT (Ep. 23)".

Do you have a link to the gas can? I like how it is mounted to the back rack. It looks very stable there. I saw a photo of Neil Peart on his BMW and on the back of his BMW was a standard upright one gallon gas tank mounted the same way. But, it looked so funny sitting up like it was! I like the idea of a flat, horizontally mounted can.

Neil Peart was amazing. RIP. here’s the one I got, you have to buy the lock separately www.amazon.com/Resistant-Antistatic-Motorcycle-etc-without-mount%EF%BC%88RED%EF%BC%89/dp/B0BZYK5885/ref=pd_lpo_sccl_2/130-6356464-5589722?pd_rd_w=t9v3E&content-id=amzn1.sym.1ad2066f-97d2-4731-9356-36b3edf1ae04&pf_rd_p=1ad2066f-97d2-4731-9356-36b3edf1ae04&pf_rd_r=6WQBM4B89AB06GF2KVJK&pd_rd_wg=xhFfJ&pd_rd_r=937df92e-6950-4e43-87a0-60fe609a2d7b&pd_rd_i=B0BZYK5885&th=1
