"Here at Rockwell Automation’s world headquarters, research has been proceeding to develop a line of automation products that establishes new standards for quality, technological leadership, and operating excellence. With customer success as our primary focus, work has been proceeding on the crudely conceived idea of an instrument that would not only provide inverse reactive current, for use in unilateral phase detractors, but would also be capable of automatically synchronizing cardinal grammeters. Such an instrument comprised of Dodge gears and bearings, Reliance Electric motors, Allen-Bradley controls, and all monitored by Rockwell Software is Rockwell Automation’s "Retro Encabulator". Now, basically the only new principle involved is that instead of power being generated by the relative motion of conductors and fluxes, it’s produced by the modial interaction of magneto-reluctance and capacitive diractance. The original machine had a base plate of prefabulated amulite, surmounted by a malleable logarithmic casing in such a way that the two spurving bearings were in a direct line with the panametric fan. The lineup consisted simply of six hydrocoptic marzelvanes, so fitted to the ambifacient lunar waneshaft that sidefumbling was effectively prevented. The main winding was of the normal lotus o-deltoid type placed in panendermic semiboloid slots of the stator, every seventh conductor being connected by a non-reversible tremie pipe to the differential girdlespring on the ‘up’ end of the grammeters. Moreover, whenever fluorescence score motion is required, it may also be employed in conjunction with a drawn reciprocation dingle arm to reduce sinusoidal depleneration. The Retro Encabulator has now reached a high level of development, and it’s being successfully used in the operation of milford trenions. It’s available soon; wherever Rockwell Automation products are sold."

I will not talk about the semi open world which is just unnecessary for my taste and very boring. Game looks amazing on the Xbox One X, and even better on the Series X. I'd love to see how it looks on the Series S, especially in multiplayer with 120 fps.
The Coalition devs really know what they're doing. MS got alot of crap for their games during the Xbox One era, but Gears was always a solid bright spot due to the quality the devs put into the game.
Tbh even in the Xbox one era, it was the 2014-2017 era where Xbox sucked. After the one X released, Xbox got their shit together, Forza only became even more beautiful, Xbox one X enhanced games like rdr 2 were really good and gamepass kept expanding.
You’re going to love it. The Coalition is the ONLY studio outside of the Forza teams that held the Xbox down. Gears 5 is one of the best looking games this gen. 343 is such a let down.

Yeah, xbox seems a lot better about having prior gen games take advantage of the new generation hardware with first party games. But I think it still needs a developer to be fully committed to past gen games, that quite honestly a lot of developers have abandoned support on. So a lot of prior gen games are going to be locked at 30 or 60fps.
@@maxbrown9391 From what I understand the problem is the current gen versions in general. They probably pushed too hard to make it look slik on high end PC's and nextgen and judging on the gameplay footage did a great job at it. But... now have trouble optimizing it for the Xbox one and PS4. But also speculation of course : )
Cannot wait to catch up w/ Gears 4 & 5 as I never got around to them. Glad the wait has some pay off. (now let's just hope both consoles succeed in getting to my address lol.)
You're in for a treat because they basically play exactly the same . My friends wanted to skip four and go right to five so I blew through four in four days. It was one hell of a ride solo glad that I did. The only crazy thing is that the entire story is summarized as soon as you start gears 5. literally the whole story is told in like 60 seconds or less is really bonkers..
Gears has becoming pretty average since gears 3 maybe it looks good but it is missing the wow factor even i could not complete the campaign left it midway ,it has good performance in pc though
What game were you looking at , sure it's pretty in parts but there's alot more wrong with this game that Xbox players never admit too, I played this on pc and thought it might be the worst gears game I played
@@alanv1233 Looks better than anything on the PS5 though and it's just a patch, Oh hang on PlayStation dosent have multiplayer shooters (or hardly anything multiplayer) they all just single player only games that last 3 weeks and then become useless.
Same, it will make or break gears 5 mp for me. Im so sick of thr INSANE INPUT LAG and being so unresponsive. I cant wait for the 120fps , ill finally be able to put my samsung 32HG70 gaming monitor to the test. It can upscale to 4k but who the hell would do tht for mp. Ill be sticking with 1440p 120hz. The test ive seen is thr input lag is literally more than half the ms. Mp, is if i remember correctly like 78 ms, its cut down to 33. Something like tht, plus im not sure if tht was at 4k or 1440p or using the series X or series S. Kinda hoping it was using the series S because tht would mean ALOT less input lag, maybe even 10 to 15 ms less. Less than a week and we will know.
This is seriously impressive for a "patch". Exceeding PC settings and hitting 60fps at close to 4K. Even a high end PC struggles to do this, so it's kind of crazy for a $500 console to pull this off Imagine what they'll be able to do when game engines are developed natively for the hardware, especially once AI/ML upscaling is being utilised. I hope 1080p/120 and 1440p/60 with AI upscaling to 4K becomes the standard this generation. Native 4K is a huge waste.
Have you realised that gears 5 is the worst optimised game for pc? It's not that special if the xsx can beat a high pc based on this game's performance.
Maaaaan. I can’t believe I’m considering buying a Series S. It’s either that or waiting like 1-2 years until PC prices drop. 299 just for the F2P library and backwards compatibility seems worth it to me.

If you can say, what was the size of the update for the Series X enhancements. I haven't seen anything regarding the sizes of them and was curious to know just how big they will be.
I wouldn't imagine it'd be that much larger. Since the game has to only account for one type of SSD it doesn't have to have as many LOD states which could save memory. Of course this is offset by enhanced graphical effects and any type of Ray tracing if enabled.
@@sjneow Me too. Always loads of technical 'over my head' mumbo jumbo, but little layman stuff like frame rate at 1080p, rough size of update, etc... Stilllllll greatttt videos though.
Ultra settings at 60fps with a dynamic resolution. This is what devs should be required to push as a minimum. 4k is a waste. Dynamic resolution at 60 with ultra settings will always better than 4k with reduced settings.
"Ultra settings" doesn't mean anything. It's an arbitrary setting from the developers that could look really good, or really bad. And it's worth noting that it's running ultra settings on a game that was primarily designed for low-spec hardware from 2013. Once we start seeing games built from the ground up for these new consoles, and PC hardware starts to move far beyond what they're capable of, we're gonna start seeing the same kinds of nips and tucks to the graphical featureset as we saw last gen.

VRR is a great addition for next gen but I hope that developers don't rely on it too much to cover up missed frame rate targets as not everyone is going to have TVs/Monitors that support it.

Impressive that it runs on ultra + settings at dynamic 4K resolution and a stable 60fps (98% of the time). Not to mention the fact that the game utilizes features not even available on the PC version yet. Truly a beast of a console.
This looks great. As a PlayStation fan I would love for Microsoft to provide more games like that. But at the same time Xbox fans better shut up about dynamic 4K vs. native 4K when even a cross gen game has to go down to around 1440p to achieve that quality.
On both PS5 and XsX sides there are still loada of things to get done to use the potential of these HWs. Patching a game won't make as much use of the tech inside those boxes as games built from ground up. After I saw RDR2 running at Full Native 4k on the 1X, I highly doubt those machines won't be able to push graphics far beyond what we are currently seeing. We just need to have the proper expectations.
@@rjanuari1978 I don’t know where this constantly comes from. RDR2 is a pretty Game but at console settings native 4K wasn’t that difficult at 30fps. @@marctech1996 I am not talking about resolution. I am talking about graphics. A good 1440p upscale with ML will look as good as 4k and will save loads of resources. I agree with you on that. @John Linneman: Vincent Teoh from HDTVTest has just put out a video stating that LG have released a statement, saying that the gamma related flickering (I have this issue with g-sync enabled on my rtx 3070) can not be defeated with a software update. He states that the issue is present when VRR is enabled in 4k@120hz mode, so I'm confused as to how Digital Foundry is stating that VRR works perfectly on the LG CX on the Xbox Series X at 4k@120hz and is one of the important features of this generation? Can we get clarification please? I have asked the same of Vincent Teoh and got this reply stating that Digital Foundry may not have noticed due to... '1) Panel variance; 2) Near-black gamma issues are significantly less visible in the presence of ambient light; 3) Individual sensitivity to such issues' Now that DF are aware of the issue, are they able to confirm how bad this looks please? Gears 5 already looked really great on the One X, and while it does look better on Series X, it doesn't look that dramatically different to me. I mean, if you zoom way in, sure, there's more detail there. But if you're just playing the game, I probably wouldn't be able to tell which version I was playing most of the time.
They didn’t redo the game of course it will look nearly identical they increased detail shadow framerate so it is more subtle. If you want a different game it will be gears 6 using all the new technologies
It will on a large 4k tv , the texture quality and lighting are streets ahead and it did drop to under 50 fps at times too on XBox one X. Still for what they had to work with it was great to have a game of this quality plus once they fix the couple of glitches , cutscenes at 60 fps is glorious compared to 30 too.
It isn't running at high texture they are using forced anisotropic filtering this thing has 1-2 fps penality and improves texture as u saw ,these consoles ain't that powerful all power it had went into providing 1720p visual instead and that reflection u see isn't ray traced either many pc games use this form of reflection which looks like ray tracing but it ain't
@Barny Nicholson I think the point is that they ARE looking for them. And so are all of us watching these countless videos about the new consoles. I have Gears 5 on One X. When I get my series X will I play it. Of course I will! Even subtle changes overall make a world more believable and better as an experience. Even if they are subtle. No one has to buy the new consoles if they don’t want. No one has to Look for any improvements to anything in life going forward but I’m happy I do.
I dont have time to read all posts but think of this, the settings is on Ultra and with some other added improvements. A PC with RTX 2070 running at Ultra 1440P runs this at a framerate as low as around 45fps without the improved graphics options. So its pretty impressive i would say staying close to 60fps with a resolution of 1080P-2160P on a 500$ hardware.
@diga mec the ssd wont do anything except make games in the ps5 slightly faster....it doesn’t even have full RDNA2 like the XSX does...plus the GPU is weaker than the one on the XSX. The ps5 will be faster yes, but far less powerful than the XSX. I rather have a fast and more powerful console than a faster one but weaker one. But you are right, thats up to the buyers.
Glad i only got into the fjrst 1st act of gears 5 campaign, now ill be able to play it at its very best. This 120fps and less input lag is literally A MAKE OR BREAK FOR GEARS MULTIPLAYER
So am I (except I have never played them before). A quick question, does the actual gameplay 'evolve' after the 1st game? I know it is pretty Old School... Just curious, since even factoring that in, it can be frustrating / shows its age.

Great video as always guys! Small suggestion, but could you put the newer box on the right side and the older on the left. I think that makes more sense like a before and after.
One of the nicest parts of SSGI in ue4 surprisingly isn't light bounce, but the raytraced ambient occlusion it inherently adds to the scene which is, imo, much more noticeable and transformative than the micro detail light bounce alone. Everything gets so much better grounded in the scene.
The problem with these past 2 Gears games is that they took so much of the grit and environmental damage out of the games. There's a great Crowbcat video titled "Gears 5 lacks weight and intensity" that highlights what I'm talking about. I also feel like they've run Gears through a Marvel filter with how the characters are constantly quipping. Gears 6 needs to bring the edge back.
