I really enjoyed the first gears but i think gears 2 really stepped it up. The campaign had awesome set pieces and actually had a really subdued and emotional scene with dom and his wife.
I remember my dad bringing me the special edition of GOW2 when it released. I was so hyped, I remember saluting the tv during chairman’s speech 😭 Such times.
I remember playing this at a place called Quantum X back when it came out. It was a place where you could rent out the use of a console for an hour or so and choose from a limited selection of games to play. Sort of like an internet café. This was the first game I played there and I loved it.
Level design for GOW2 : All levels must take place in one of these environments 1. Cave 2. Grotto 3. Ruin 4. Temple 5. Inside a creature that has an internal anatomy suspiciously resembling a cave, grotto, ruin, or temple 6. Surface (but only for EXTREMELY short periods of time because it takes too long to develop these environments
I´m not that big fan of the whole "Gears of War" Saga in general (only played the second Game in the Series, but have good memories of it), however i wish they would have give the whole Series an PC Release yet. Kind of want to replay GOW2.
I finished the first one like 15 times when 2 was out I wasn't expecting much I thought it'll be just a mediocre sequel trying to cash out after the success of 1 but oh boy how pleasently I was surprised
Playing it for the first time on my Series S as I was more of a PC gamer when it originally released. I am just amazed how well this game has aged. Guns feel heavy and crunchy, boss battles are epic and the level design and atmosphere is top notch. This game deserves an Unreal Engine 5 remake.
I will always remember Cole's lines towards the Locust Queen at the end of the game and the funny secret dialogue Marcus does if he snipes the grubs after reaching the Hollow. Lol
There is also the Gears Tactics game for X-Box One & PC that is akin to X-Com. I haven't played it but I hear its good, if you like that kind of real time strategy genre. As for Gears 2, it remains my personal favorite as well. I just feel that the story really surprised me. As for Gears 3, I didn't much care for it. I loathe the lambient enemies.
Gears 2 is fantastic, when Dom finds his wife it's absolutely Brutal. No game to this day nailed emotion like that for me. Finish Gears 2 on hardcore and you feel like the champ.
Try Insane, you may want a player to do that difficulty, similar to how Halo works on Legendary as Insane is the next level difficulty down to Hardcore.
@@chriswoods7774 done insane on first three a long time ago, no chance of getting co-op together these days so settled for hardcore on recent playthrus. Playing the first three on co-op insane is one of them experiences that will stay with me.
If you were a die hard GOW1 multiplayer mf then you know how devastating GOW2 was when we booted it up. I’m 30 now and I still reflect on that GOW2 launch. I remember every GOW1 RU-vidr just ranting how bad the movement, lag, grenades knocking you down, stopping power. God the movement was so slow and clunky. GOW1 was so smooth, fast, and competitive and they immediately took that away. Oh and rip the sniper in gow2. The gow1 community with sniper battles was so serious. There’s so much to touch on. You either now or this comment might come as a surprise. I hope Eday brings that gow1 meta and movement back.
