I feel like Lyle sometimes says things to lower the guards of his callers. Example: The one caller at 40 mins mentions he doesn't keep track of his age. Personally, I have to look at what year it is, to calculate my age, and have done so ever since I was 27 (I used to be OCD about 27-club). The other day, my girlfriend told me that everyone wants to think they're strange/weird, but personally, I've strived to be normal/accepted until I just got comfortable with being standoffish/outcast. For a good time in my life, I thought I wanted to be adored, but around 2010, I lost that desire, because I closed myself off to destructive criticism, and in turn, most praise now seems hollow to me. I don't know. If someone told me that I was special for these reasons, I'd just feel like they were tickling my taint. I tend not to struggle with empathy, but at the same time, I don't know why people obsess over these things, or feel this way. I guess, no matter how much we progress/grow as people, there will always be some windows we'll be stuck on the outside looking through.

The caller asking if he could be a gecko reminded me of Car Talk on the radio when I was a kid. I think it was called that but random people would call in with no stupid questions and 2 guys would just talk about what was wrong with the car.
