I dont know but what i did is here: multiply the average score by 5 (162×5) = 810; then add all the scores (653) then subtract 810-653=157 😅 i got confused in the middle if the last problem so i made it easy lol

I got confused on the middle part of the last problem where you want to dispose the number 5. 🤔

What we really want to do is get x by itself on one side of the equation, and there are a few different ways to go about this that will lead to the same answer. But basically, we want to get the 5 out of the denominator on the left hand side of the equation, so we multiply by 5 on both sides of the equation. On the left hand side, the 5's cancel out. On the right hand side, we get 810, because 5 x 162 = 810. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

I was able to get the answer right for the last example question by adding the 4 known numbers. I got the answer for that which was 130.6. Then I added all 5 numbers and divided by 5 once again. I got 156.7 which you would round up to 157. Thank you. I understood your example as well.

Hello i have a question on a mean problem, i added all 5 numbers and divided by 5 and got 15.8 as the answer but i would like to know in what order do we round that 15.8 >>>>to 15 and 16 does it round up after anything over 5.5 or 5.7? what's the correct way on a mean question. Thank you

Hi, thank you for watching. This will depend on the specific question. On the test, most questions will be multiple choice, so hopefully you can look at the answer choices to see. If the question asks you to round to the nearest whole number, then 15.8 rounds to 16. Here are the basic steps for rounding: Step 1: Identify the place value you’re being asked about Step 2: Look at the value to the right of it. If it’s a 5 or higher, increase the number in step 1 by 1 (round up). If it’s less than 5, keep the number from step 1 the same. Step 3: Change all digits to the right of the number in step 1 to zeroes.

Yup! Pretty easy if you ask me. Simple grade 5 algebra in the equation, and I/we got the result for T student which is 157.

653 divide by 5 is not 162 it is 130.6

Hi, thank you for watching. Please re-watch my explanation at 13:28. The problem does not require you to divide 653 by 5. In fact, you can't solve the problem this way. The problem tells you that the average score was 162, so that's why everything is set equal to 162. That's where the 162 came from, not by trying to divide 653 by 5. It's x + 653 divided by 5. We are trying to isolate the variable here. In other words, we want to get x by itself on one side of the equation. We do this by multiplying both sides of the equation by 5. This leaves us with x + 653 = 810. The last step is to subtract 653 from both sides of the equation, which tells us the value of x.

Is the data set 47, 77,79,27,96? If so, I don't see any numbers appearing more than once in the dataset, so there is no mode. The mode is the most occuring number, and if all numbers appear just once, there isn't a mode.
