Hi English Woodsman. I just wanted to add a little info that you might find useful. We sell both this GeerTop tent and our own version (STATION13) and we always include two extra guylines along with extra pegs so that the foot end flysheet can be guyed out if required (notice the two guyline tie loops on the corners of the flysheet foot end). This way you can completely open the fly foot vents without the need of the single guyline on the foot end inner tent. That said, in most cases people simply keep the centre triangle of the foot end flysheet pegged down to hold the tent up, and just zip open the sides. The inner tent foot end guyline always confuses folk because it seems to be required as you are erecting the tent, but in fact it is not, as when the foot end fly is pegged out this holds the tent up. The guyline on the foot end inner is really just for using the inner tent alone, without the flysheet, if you happen to be camping on extremely warm nights... or you live somewhere hot and it never rains. All the best.

This video made me buy this tent, I'm just using the inner atm, it's bloody wonderful. I've used this tent inner a fair bit and have always put the poles in first, Doh, so am glad i watched this video again, thanks.

Incidentally, the hydrostatic head is 2500mm floor and fly (polyurethane (PU) coated polyester), not sure where the 5000mm came from. And it's really better as a UK 2-3 season tent, not 3-4 season... unless you are a tough-skinned, very hardened backpacker!

Maybe they added 2500 fly and 2500 floor to = 5000mm ?

I have this tent. Love but please make the storage bag bigger. It’s hell trying to get everything back in the bag.

probably wouldn't hurt to maybe sew little elastic things (even hair bands) to the ends of those two areas at the end, that you could stake out maybe?

My suggestion, don’t buy it unless you also bring a rainfly. I own several tents, including a bivy with a small pole. It’s perfect for its lightweight and size properties. But since it often rains in the woods, you’ll be dry but if you can’t sit up, kneel, move around a bit you’ll suffer. If you buy a tiny tent, buy a rain tarp also so you could get out stretch your legs a bit, cook, and wait out the rain.

How’s it go?

@@roka102 Well, it is not made for -6 , thats for sure. Im around 6 feet tall, size wise it was ok, but not much space left for 80 l backpack and shoes, but fitted somehow. Other than that, erecting tent was no issues, ventilation is good and it is compact. For price it is decent 2-3 season tent. I would think it is perfect summer tent ;)

I like it. Yes, I agree I would have liked to see some peg-down points on those flaps. Thanks for the review.

How did it do in the rain ? I got this tent just before lockdown and never got the chance to set it up, I'm off hiking around Ireland in a few weeks, solo wild camping in this tent.

Do you think it can tolerate temperatures as low as 40-45°F? Or what would you say is the absolute limit not the comfort limit?

At the bottom of the tent where it has the sipped flaps for ventilation, could you not tight that guy rope to the peg loop at the bottom of the triangular flap, before pegging out the guy rope?

I ordered one of these tents from that link, but have been sent two tents of a completely different type. How do I get Geertop to rectify their mistake and send me the right tent?

I can't figure out why the inside is white. I can see that getting dirty quick. Should be black.

Why would anyone buy a bivy tent that weight nearly 4 pounds and is large after packed? There are so many other alternatives that include 1 and 2 person tents. You've reviewed and used several on your channel that are lighter and pack down smaller. 2 person tents that use trekking poles weigh in at only 2 pounds and offer lots more room to sit up and move around and pack down much smaller. 3F UL versions can be had for about $150. Just sayin".
