GeForce 8600 GTS was a mid-range card released on April 17th, 2007 with release price from $199$ to $229 (Cards with 256 MB of VRAM had memory clocked to 1000/2000 MHz but cards with bigger 512 VRAM sometimes used slower memory 900/1800 Mhz) GeForce GT 430 was released on October 11th, 2010 with launch price around $80 (OC edition was probably more expensive) Note: older cards can't render properly grass in GTA V

Thank you, I find these comparisons very relaxing to watch. In the overview I try to guess which card would be the fastest / slowest and then see if my guess was right, I failed miserably in this case, after realising I watched the frame time number instead of the FPS.. the higher the frame time, the lower the FPS of course. Thank you! o)

Thank you very much for the test! I would like to see more GeForce GT 430 OC content. :) By the way the GeForce GT 430 OC is working very well under Windows 10 if you use an SSD. Many modern game could be playable.

In the future I will test this card under win 10 and I'll compare it with cards like R5 230, R5 250, GT 710, GT 730 etc... But right now the biggest part of my GPU collection are older cards like 6xxx, 7xxx, 8xxx and 9xxx series and they are running much better on Win 7 (same with games)

Lol, every time it comes to DX10 430 almost doubles when it comes to performance. I had GT440 1Gb (430 with slighty buffed stats) and it was quite a nice card if not push to oblivion or play on highest settings.

Interesting, I got a free GT 430 and looks that it's perfect for a low-powered WinXP gaming build. :)

I had a 430 before and it worked so great for me and was faster than popular 8800 gt
