Not only ancient but it was never meant as a gaming card in the first place. It came out at the same time as the GTX200 series and HD4000 series. A GTX280 had 30 times as many unified Shader's and 35 times the memory bandwidth. This card was basically the cheapest way to connect a monitor to a PC for productivity stuff.
Always love seeing the G 100 videos, I guess I love seeing those old gpu's struggle to run newer titles. Also it brings me back to the old days when I had a really old laptop and tried to play newer games. Keep up the good content man!
I believe you should to try to test this GPU in games which were released along side this gpu or at least 1 year prior to it that would have been interesting
I overclocked it and I gotta say it was a pretty good deal. Now I can play "Pong" on such high refresh rate experience which is 120 fps + I have RBG lights with all the fire and sparks that it's doing.I am satisfied.
Now i start to understand your legendary : "" *GT710 FTW* "" (For The Win) logo !! It was made while you had in mind the results from the G100 tests !!! Everything start to make sense now , lol !!
As far as I can tell the first G98 was released in 2007 (8400/8400GS or something like that), this G98-309-U2 chip in 2008 and the G100 card (with this chip) was released in 2009 in OEM systems. Basically the range goes from 2007-2009.
I'd like to see what games can you actually enjoy with these old low-end cards, maybe stuff like Blasphemous, Muse Dash, Risk of Rain, CoD4, Devil Daggers; games with impresive 2D visuals or super basic 3D graphics, but that still make you wonder if they could run at all on this GPU. Great video, I really appreciate the struggle you go through!!!
The only question that came to my mind reading the title was "Why???" But yeah i know benchmarkers just gotta do it , love to see the jurassic period cards on action ❤️❤️, btw your accent man , is just honey for my ears
This reminds me of my first attempt at PC gaming. I installed Mass Effect (the first one) on my standard home desktop with no graphics accelerator. I was able to (sort of) play the first scenes, but as soon as the first combat occurred, the display became a smear of random colors. It didn’t crash Windows, but the game froze solid.
i have tested 2 Gtx 970 from different brands and i have to say they perform very different. A Gigabyte G1 which has higher clocks then my gtx 970 kfa 2 sniper edition but performs worse then the kfa 2 maybe because of its age? or someone did mining on it. i had a Zotac gtx 970 to did perform much worse then both of them which i find interesting. I could watch you all day doin tests of "Old" Gpu`s its anytime entertaining keep up the great work :)!
hey man, i've been watching some of yor videos lately and really enjoyed it. i saw that your name in csgo is in portuguese, so, do you speak portuguese? I'm from Brasil btw. love your channel
Hello, thanks for the video, if i can give an a advice, you can save the Drivers on a disc space to all GPU you have, and especially the old ones! Thanks and wait you at the next video. :) (Because soon maybe the drivers for all OLD GPU can be unfindable...)
At 9:52, I pretty much had a heart attack! It honestly looks like a 386 CPU or a 486 CPU! With 8 MB of RAM or 4 MB of RAM, maybe 5 MB of RAM. Back when RAM was single-digit-megabytes! Honestly, it mostly looks like running a later DOS (with DOS4GW) game on my Compaq DeskPro with 386 CPU and 4 MB of RAM! (maybe 5 MB of RAM)
If you want to be happy don't look for what is above you ,rather look for what is below you. And be happy for what you've got. That is what I am doing right now.
You could try TF2 with the mastercomfig optimizations on this card. I was able to bring my Intel HD Graphics 2000 to a playable framerate in TF2 using it
Based on the fact TF2 really wasn’t playable and it used the same engine, I wouldn’t get my hopes up. Maybe at an era-appropriate resolution like 1024x768 and an older build of the game.
We are going to play the top ten most played games on Steam, starting with Number One CS:GO... a few moments later.. " I would like to kill somebody that's not a bot." Serious question- if so popular why rooms filled with bots?
