Im so glad I came across your video before buying one of these frames. When I first seen these frames I was excited just based on the looks and the fact it was something new and different from the other after market frames like P80 and gst9. But I will definitely not be buying one any time soon unless they fix these issues you have just pointed out. So much appreciated for this review. Thanks so much.

I agree over 1 year trying to get them to stand behind there product & send a gen 2 7 emails,they could be unsafe & nothing but a toy ,They said they fixed the slide lock issues on the gen 2 $149.00 at husky armory ,i would not buy one for that price i can get glock frames for that & my p80s i bought before they went way up to but would buy p80 & use & xgrip for 17 magazines,i like the p80 grip better anyway ,range toys if that

swissbianco, at 5:50 of your video is what I experienced with my build of the Geisler. The problem is the plastic just to the rear of the slide release lever is too high and causes the bottom of the barrel to drag on the plastic. I took my locking block out and used a dremel with a small burr bit to carefully remove 3/16 inch of plastic to lower this obstruction. Now the slide works great except for the large gap between slide and frame. My slide does not have the excess slopp that yours has. The first thing I did before even building the pistol was straighten the rear slide rails due to poor manufacturing. I mounted them is a vise and lightly corrected the slide angle to 90 degrees and the right rear slide needed tweaking of the rear where the protrusion tab goes into the trigger housing. My pistol turned out great but Geisler quality control needs improvement too. We are buying something that should have been debugged.

thanks for your feedback - all in all that quality and workmanship is substandard and unsafe to shoot. the big gap between slide and frame alone is not correct at all. so fare geisler could not provide a correct answer, an update video follow after blade show.

I appreciate the review, and disappointed Geisler didn't put more quality control into their product. The idea of a G17 longer grip that takes a G19 slide is an excellent concept that maybe p80 will pick up on.

I have one of these. The slide assembly would not latch onto the frame. I noticed that the slide lock slot was kind of sloppy, but that didn't seem to really be the problem. I did some measuring on several barrels, slides, slide locks, and frames and determined that this frame puts the rails .020" higher relative to the slide lock than on my other Glock clones. I cut the slots in the sides of the frame upward to allow the slide lock to move up .020". The barrel lug then properly engaged the slide lock but would not stay latched when cycling. This brings us to what I decided was this frame's terminal flaw. The wall in front of the slide lock is paper thin, so the recoil spring assembly ends up seated against the slide lock rather than against the wall in front of it. This means that as the gun cycles, the recoil spring can push the slide lock backward and thus downward due to the slot being angled, so it randomly disengages from the barrel lug. Then the slide assembly can pop forward of where it should stop. This frame has been disassembled, and I will be purchasing a different brand for all of the parts I bought to go with it. I bought this frame because I wanted the longer Glock 17 grip, but I'll probably just get a Polymer80 PF940C, because I at least know their Glock clones work. I submitted a review to the vendor, but they have not published it or responded.

thanks for the details, try to return it sawed into 2 pcs for a store credit. to my amazement they still send me email with that item on sale and all so they still try to sell that unsafe junk! maybe first has one to explode into somebodys face so they stop. still amazed on such a lack of in spec measurements as they simply had to copy a original glock. never did hear back anything from the manufacturer in israel, dont surprise me.

Great video. The frame is way cool with a great feel. I like the jig but it has minor problems when using a dremel drill press as you noted. Everything you pointed out regarding function is true. I think this lower is not safe and I've decided not to shoot it. I wish I'd seen this video before buying... it would have saved me money. BUYER BEWARE. Thank you swissbianco.

short update as part 2 is uploading. theyr customerservice did quick respond, within 24 hrs and not like in vorever by polymer80. the wide gap between the slide and frame is carefully engeneerd to assure that all brands of slides will fit and secondly for allow better cooling for the slide....really? since the slide sits to high on the frame not a single glock 19 / 17 kydex holster did fit! adjoustment of the tension screws dont help. so that allone would be reasons for me not to buy sutch a item but it gets way "better" than that in part 2 that is uploading. to bad!

Appreciate the info. I was going to add that myself if someone else hasn't already said it. It's a ridiculously large gap, and if someone has a frame that don't fit, they could easily sand their frame down to fit (or get a refund from the company that makes the slide). It would be absurd if a slide was so out of spec that it wouldn't fit on any Glock frame. They already have a large gap with the OEM frames and I've never heard of a slide not fitting, because it contacted the frame. Damn I hope they fixed that with the Gen 2 model. Thanks again for the video/info.

The rear hole is .8mm to high. That is why the trigger walks back and forth. I drilled the hole .3mm lower and solved the rocking motion. As for the slide catch I machined a wider one. It helped. But still moves front to back. It is a great looking and feeling frame. But it needs some refinement. Are you reading this Geisler Defense?

I think I remember being able to buy “extended” slide takedown lock levers that would have more material coming through the frame to prevent some of the slop with the slide lock. If I had to guess the manufacturer made everything with sloppy tolerances in hopes that more aftermarket parts would work with there products. If you’re able to make improvements that help things work, please make a video. Maybe it will translate to other manufacturers as well. Good luck and stay safe

I just completed one of these Geisler 80s and have the same large gap between slide and frame. First problem was the rear slide rails were not bent a true 90 degree and not accurate. I solved this in a bench vise very carefully. After assembly, I had problem with the slide release lever not pushing down like something was preventing it dropping to release the slide. Compared to an SCT I built and noticed that there was interference of the bottom of the barrel against plastic framing just forward of the locking block. This was dragging against the bottom of barrel. I removed this plastic identical to the SCT and solved that problem. I think Geisler needs to review their design a little bit more. Another problem is the trigger housing gets a little squished with the rear rails down in the housing area. This causes the connector to be affected somewhat. I have built Lone wolfs, Poly 80, the SCT and now Geisler. All of them have their quirks. You will absolutely become a pro troubleshooting problems with a mix of different company parts.

@@funnyones5570was it the plastic framing that was preventing the slide from coming off during takedown? I’m having a similar, if not the same problem where the slide doesn’t want to come off during takedown, it will move forward just a little but becomes stuck. Also, when dry firing, sometimes the slide will move forward to the same position and become stuck. If this was your problem, where exactly on the frame did you have to take the dremel to fix this problem. I want to be sure before removing some plastic that might not be necessary to remove.

Sorry for the stupid question or if it’s been answered already but my silde tends to come off my frame easy when I rack the slide and then pull the trigger it moves to the front. If I rack the slide and then go give it a push back into position it will come off without be pressing the trigger. How can I fix this?

@@isaiahrojas7782 the lever you pull down to take the slide if is most likely backwards. The notch should face the rear of the frame.

@funnyones5570 Год назад
swissbianco, at 8:52 look at your right rear rail. Notice the edge of the rail is not parallel with the outside of the frame. This is a common problem with these rails. This pinches the trigger bar and connector because the tab on the rear rail needs to be pushed out slightly.

I have the precise same issues with mine. I haven't even tried to live fire it yet. During dry fire, the slide can come off completely. I think I will chalk this one up to experience. Already have another Polymer80 on the way to replace it. It's a shame because it looked very promising until actually putting it together. I recommend "DO NOT BUY!!!".
