@@LuckyBird551 My only problem with Gekiganger is that the Getter-2 and Getter-3 forms get barely any time to shine before the J9 bot that is Gekiganger V arrives. Sometimes its too busy being Mazinger Z Vs. Great General of Darkness to remember that it's Getter Robo. Just a personal thought as I go through it for like. Idk the 5th time? It's up there with Shin Vs NEO and actual Great General of Darkness as an infinitely rewatchable classic
Man, they don't make anime like this anymore. I remember a friend of mine was super into this series when I was working on a ship. Eventually we ended up holding a convention just for Gekiganger!
Dude what the hell are you talking about this shit is no where near as brutal as the orignal Gekigenger manga. You want a good Gekigenger anime watch Shin Gekigenger Ragnarock last 3 minutes of the earth. Yes it's a standalone story but it rocks hard.
@Hayao Kakizaki Dude I was there too that convention was wild. Do you remember the last day where that one guy who was way too into the show who got shot by that other guy who was way too into the show?
@Psychotoaster Productions Yeah the manga is way better then all the anime shame the first time they animated an arc of it had masive budget problems I was realy looking forward to that Gekigenger AH adaptation
@@demi-fiendoftime3825 Think about it this way, at least thanks to that anime there is the posibility that Gekigangar Ah appears in a new super robot wars along with Old Ending Buddism 2.0+2.0 and Static Suit Goddamn Hassaway's Flash
Quite honestly, I would SO watch an actual Gekiganger 3 anime, I'm a sucker for classic 70s-80s Super Robot anime. Same with El Dora V from Gun X Sword.
You know what's funny? There's this game called Geppy X, which is also a nod to Getter Robo and what's even funnier? They swap the Getter-2 and Getter-3 roles too just like Gekiganger.
Too many people want their cartoons to either be made in their lifetimes or serious. I think that a comedic show with a serious plotline makes it more realistic. That's half the reason I love Nadesico and is the main reason I love many series from the same time period.
I loved the Martian Successor Nadesico series mainly because of this Getter Robo parody within the show. Gekigengar III is great! Oh... And because of Guy! It was a shame they killed him so early in the series.
The OS of Sailor Moon being another. The Manga was such a half-baked rushed mess, even the Author didn't think it was particually good. And the Crystal adaptation managed to be even worse...
This--This is just Getter Robo. Not that I'm complaining, of course. I'm sure in context of Nadesico this works really well. I'm not sure since I haven't seen it yet as I'm waiting for RightStuf's BluRay set.
This is a meta anime, an anime within an anime. The whole point is that the meta anime is partly infantile, but also presents a message of passion, teamwork, friendship and endurance which is taken back as motivation for the characters in the actual anime, each of whom interpret the meta anime in their own ways. And this difference in interpretation or misinterpretation drives their actions and then comes back to change their interpretation of the meta anime. It is actually very complex while also being very simple. Nadesico is one of my favorite animes.
let's not forget that it was also a critic to all people who takes things too much for their face value. I won't spoiler here, but everyone who watched the series know what I'm talking about... Nadesico was a brilliant show and, although it was recognized as successful, in my opinion it deserved even more popularity.
And the Ryou stand-in is named after Voltes V's sword, Tenkuu Ken. The primary motif is definitely Getter (they even have a Jack King/Texas Mack character later) but there's elements of other stuff in there, with the sympathetic/likable rival prince ala Combattler/Voltes/Daimos' characters in that role.
I'll tell you two things about it 1.The Nadesico is operated by dorks so 75% of the crew are fans of this show. 2. The villians have live in space for a long time so woth this as their only entertainment and ended up building their entier society around it to the point they talk dramaticly like charicters from the show XD It's glorious!!!!! This show is basicly a war between mecha fanboys XD
