This is an amazing and cheap alternative of the Pioneer CDJs, I would actually buy some of those. But the problem is that unlike Pioneer, there are not many service centers that can repair Gemini players.
Hi there Steve! Yes, that is very true. I've had these for a couple of years now and they haven't failed me yet. Only problem I encountered was that before the software update they would stop reading the USB sticks. After the update everything has been going smooth as butter. From gig to gig. I highly support these if you don't have the money to go for Pioneer. Pretty good, cheap and reliable hardware.
Greetings! Only a section of the effects you can use with the knob, the other section you have ti use either the touchscreen or the jog. Hope this helped and sorry for the slow reply, I'll work on replying faster from now on!
I recommend it fully. Been using them for a year now on all my gigs and they haven't failed not even once. The new ones are on their way so maybe you should wait for those. They have a bigger, better screen and a few more features. But these ones are great. Best of luck!
DJustmusic - Music and graphics You're welcome! They may be plastic but their inner frame is made of metal so they're sturdy. They won't break, mine have been through a lot and are still good as new! The only gripe I have with the unit is the pitch fader and it's because Im used to the smaller faders, since this is a full size one it got hard at first but with time it's better because it's more precise. They are a pretty good replica of the 2000's. Not 2000's but good stuff nonetheless.
DJustmusic - Music and graphics Oh then you won't have any problems! You will have to download the latest version of the operating system for a more stable, faster experience. But just go to the Gemini website and download it and then install it on the player. I wish you the best!
DJ Legend I have had it for 2 years, still going strong, only problem I encountered with it was that it needed a firmware update and it was not responding with Virtual DJ, but once they did the update it ran smoothly. They still work like new. Hope this info helps. Best of luck with what you purchase.
Would you suggest buying them? Is it as good as pioneer? Do you think I could use these professionally? I want to buy two of them and buy a mixer with filter and effects.
I would suggest buying them, not as good as Pioneer though. Pioneer are way more solid built. But you can definitely use them professionally, I use them for all my events. If you're tight on money and need a good piece of hardware then these are the ones for you. Although if I'm not mistaken Gemini did release a new version of these with more features.

Now when you say solid built... what do you think is the difference between the gemini cdj700 vs pioneer, other than this being plastic.. is the software and hardware as sturdy as pioneer?
