Yes, you're on point. At the end of 2014 my Mom was diagnosed with lung cancer. She chose to do chemo to extend her life; however, at the beginning of 2016 her cancer metastisized to her brain and even though she opted in for radiation, it didn't help & she passed in July 2016. Shortly after, my brother died of a drug overdose & I went no contact with my abusive father. It certainly did feel like "the walls were collasping in on me". I was so alone.
