I live in Indiana and the people are friendly here. There was a lady with kids from Chicago and she ran out of gas. She was amazed how many people stopped to help her and they filled her tank up.
Hi Stella! You are so right about Gen Con and the boardgame community. It is so fun and so welcoming and everyone becomes instant friends. I am so glad we can be friends and talk and know a bit about each other even though we randomly meet and talk and remember each other a few minutes each Gen Con. Tarrant, I always ask Stella about you and when we can meet you. You work very hard. I hope one day you can experience the friendliness. Until then, I will watch all your videos!
Hiiii Rob, great you meet you, you were in a line when I saw you and I was as usual on the way somewhere lol. So glad and grateful of this board game community for sure! Haha yes, Tarrant will eventually come, but he might come to one of the "play" con, rather than the "buy" con. So hoping that's happening one day. Thanks for popping in, always great to chat wth you!
@@MeepleUniversity Yay Stella! Gen Con is definitely great for buying but it is also big enough to do so much else 24 hours a day. You can game anytime anywhere, so I hope Tarrant will come experience it. Thanks for writing and remembering me!
Horror story number 1 - oh no! Sorry to hear that! Happened to me once before too, put food in the ikea bag with board games, then the food spilled.... It's okay in the end, just box a bit wet
Loved the slide show! We are Gen X and the family slide show is very familiar! AND Fondu! Though usually those were 2 different events. I think I still have our 1970s fondu pot somewhere... Mmmmm, fondu...
Hello🙏🙏 Thank you so much. Haha so that period does exist, tho in different occassion. Haha fonduuuuuu I think I can still get it in Target / Kmart / Amazon lolol
In the 70s we watched slide shows and home movies at people’s homes. Now we see photos and videos constantly on social media. At least now we can scroll past.
Horror story #1: Dealing with the challenge of unplanned purchases, both in the soreness of lugging and also the impact it has on one's checking account. Such gets rationalized as part of doing business when one is even remotely connected to tabletop games professionally.
