Certainly, IBB’s administration was responsible for some of the decisions that spiralled Nigeria into its mess , given its transactions with the IMF. Bad leadership that failed to listen to the concerns of Nigerians, simply pursued agendas that served their selfish interests at the expense of others, especially poor Nigerians. The conditions of IMF loan such as devaluation of the Naira and SAP, drove Nigeria into economic hardship. IBB’s administration is one of the very deeply unfortunate things that happened to Nigeria. It was indeed a masquerade nightmare that befell the nation. It was so hopeless that they claimed that the economy had defied all applied economic solutions. Such claims or suggestions could only have come from an administration that lacked vision and the moral consistency to lead Nigeria into economic growth and prosperity that were so desired by Nigerians. The grab of power for the sake of it was a norm for those who had the sense of entitlement. The culture of disregarding and despising dissenting voices or opinions is a serious problem in the national polity, especially for those who have the sense of entitlement to the political power I reiterate.

Well, all talks did Babangida, administration was the best for Nigeria. How was the Nigerian economy performed? Until Nigeria feeds her citizens and produces goods and services, all these are just talks.

@@chimakalu41 I am Nigerian like my parents and theirs before them. There was no switch of nationality at any time i.e Biafra The General in this interview has an Igbo father, a Hausa Fulani mother and is married to a Yoruba woman. Ike Nwachukwu was raised by his Fulani mother and his father he hardly new, only from postcards. He always saw himself as a detribalised Nigerian and at no time subscribed to sectionalism or tribalism as a federal servant who served in every geopolitical zone. He enlisted in the Nigerian Army and at the advent of the civil war honoured his commission, oath and loyalty to his fatherland, Nigeria, which has a section “to defend the country Nigeria against any type of aggression, internal and foreign” He stood on the side of the country he swore to defend, keep its territorial integrity and prevent its Balkanisation by any type of forces threatening its integrity” Major General (Senator)!IOS Nwachukwu (rtd) signed and served the Nigerian nation throughout his active years.
