I love this song, not just because of the song but because we truly are treated to the beauty of Avi’s voice and when combined with Mitch it’s even better ❤. Thank you for sharing, and yes, PTX did The Little Drummer Boy, also with Avi, very good song as well, of course.
When Pentatonix gets their hands on a Christmas song, generally you'll get something, a little different, maybe not what you expected, but generally better than the original. They are definitely "Christmas" incarnate. Love this version, they made it beautiful, and Mitch's top range goes perfectly with Avi's lower range. Oh yeah, yes people do go caroling in the US, not to raise money or things like that, but generally just to have fun and celebrate holiday cheer, not always "incredible vocalists" but its done in fun and enjoyment.
Yes, Pentatonix has done "Little Drummer Boy", and done it wonderfully, of course. It's one of the first pieces I ever saw of them, and thought "I've got to see more"! I like this one a lot, too! The smoothness of Avi's voice is just amazing.
As you look for PTX's "Little Drummer Boy", it was one of the first videos they ever did, on a hill overlooking downtown Los Angeles. In regard to Avi, he was trained as an operatic basso profundo, but also trained to use the full range of his voice with precision, power and resonance. The single Rachelle has suggested that was just released not even 2 weeks ago is sung almost entirely in Avi's upper register, although he does layer his bass for the backing on the chorus.

When I was a young teen in the late ‘70s, I hosted a few December slumber parties for my friends that started with us walking around my neighborhood and singing carols at front doors. Occasionally, they would have cookies for us, but otherwise, it was just for the fun of it. After, we returned home where Mom had hot chocolate ready and the fireplace burning in the basement.
I can offer you a Christmas reaction you might really want to do. 5thgentexan posted a fan cam video of Avi kaplan singing O Holy Night during one of his shows in Houston last year. Its probably the only time you will hear him sing a Christmas song now but it was a special thing for his audience that night and its sure good. I saw that you reacted to a live video of Avi singing House of the Rising Sun. I think you would enjoy this as well. Other recommendations would be When Im A Fool live at Sunset Sound Studios, All is Well, live with 7 Layers Sessions,. There are some wonderful live streams he did during the pandemic. He did a couple of real beauties for Colorado Sound. Nobody hears them because its such a small channel but they are good. Just ask and you can get some great suggestions if people know you are looking for them.
If you have not reacted to IMAGINE (the video) or HALLELUJAH (the video) then do so as time allows - Avi has nice parts in both of those songs - I'm sure there are many more but those are two of my favorites - PTX does do a lot of Christmas albums, but they have many, many more songs than just for that holiday - Have you listened to their BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY video or their DAFT PUNK video? They also have many originals under their belts - 🙂
