She felt every emotion watching this film and then called it “decent.” WTH? Lol. Interstellar is an all-time film with one of the best scores ever in cinema
Humanity might be greatness compared to what else is out there. I do not dismiss us. Instead I choose to see the good. The reality that we can imagine to make movies like Interstellar and Arrival show what great potential we have.
Yes, well said. We'll be better anyways, we've learned so much about recycling and taking care of our resources in the last 50 years, we may not be there yet completely, but we're going to be. But we can't grow much more on this tiny rock. I disagree totally with uploader's thoughts on not spreading to other planets. We'll be fine.
I loved the honesty of your review. This is my first video of yours but I subscribed because I can trust your content is honest. Reviewing such a well loved movie as decent instead of just pretending to love it which I really hate. P.S. I actually loved the movie myself ;-)

So does that mean we should stop exploring the universe? Space travel is dangerous, yes there will be sacrifices but we can't stop growing as a species. We're destined to go out out there.

Just wached this movie for the first time and it's crazy. To be honest, I have never seen other work of Matthew (Cooper), and I didn't really love his character, but didn't hate it either, but after watching the whole movie my mind changed drastically. Matthew did a fantastic job with the acting. I'm now sure Interstellar is my favorite movie of all time.
Just decent? You need to elaborate. This is a great movie. It made you feel strongly enough to cry, it made you anxious, it had you intrigued. Great acting. Great music. The shots. The directing. The writing. How can it just be decent.
I don't share the pessimism, we do cause problems with the world but with science and technology I believe we can become better and are already progressing to that point, I believe clean energy and the end of reliance on fossil fuels is but a few decades away and generally people are more aware of our impact on the world by the day, and many humans are dedicating their lives to changing it, those people haven't given up hope in the future and I don't think you should either. Are your family not worth saving? Ask yourself that. Because Cooper thought that, their future is worth fighting for. Some of us are worth saving, not all humans are bad.
What blew my mind was the Aliens 'they' are human yes, but the descendants from the colony Brand/Coper/TARS set up. TARS still had the data from the black hole, the colony evolved differently with that knowledge.

Matthew really shines in the first season of True Detective. I was not really a fan of his up to that point, but after that, he became a man crush for me. 😅
One small point about black holes; I got the (possibly wrong?) impression from your “wouldn’t the planets get sucked into the black hole” comment that you may have thought black holes just suck up everything that gets near them (many people do, including me once upon a time). The reality is that a black hole is just an object with a gravity field, like any other object (the moon, mars, the sun, etc). Yes, it’s strong enough to give it an escape velocity greater than the speed of light, but it’s still just a gravity field, so things can orbit it just like they could any other, provided they’re moving at the right speed and (uniquely to black holes) are outside the event horizon (there may be a caveat on that last bit, but I’m ignoring it for the purposes of a RU-vid comment). For example, there are stars orbiting the black hole at the center of the Milky Way. I’ll feel suitably silly if this is all stuff you already know, of course. :)
yes I was under the assumption that even if it would take a long time, the pull would be so great that eventually anything that comes within the gravitational pull would eventually get sucked in, thank you for the explaination!
You ma'am are very good at guessing the plot. Have you watched *Shutter Island* starring Leonardo DiCaprio? Also *Six Sense* starring Bruce Willis and Haley Joel Osment Both this film's are must watch and there's a big plot twist in both of them. Please watch them if you haven't.
14:18 No the planets would not get pulled into Gargantua, not at a faster rate than the Earth is into the Sun (which is happening BTW). The Sun is more likely go nova in 5 billion years and roast the planet before the Earth's orbital speed decays enough to be sucked into it.
Also born in 1965. I used to agree, then I helped make children. I don't know if it is reptile brain firmware programming, but it changed my perspective in an a priori way.
