Gena is absolutely amazing. I have seen her perform many times in person and I've never seen her drop a club or miss a step. Not to mention she and her husband are the sweetest people ever
@galaandding Actually if you look back in time, you'll see that juggling was around way way way before the circus. The association with juggling and the circus is a recent historical footnote. The same is true for most skills performed in the circus. To say that a skill only belongs to the circus and should only be done a certain way is rather narrow minded.
lol all these arguments about where juggling belongs. thats like saying where math belongs in life. there are many applications and each one is different. in wjf competitions its very technical. circus is very flashy. theater is very artistic. each is difficult, each is unique. no need to argue, just enjoy juggling and have fun with it :D
wow I just started juggling this summer it only took me four days to get three balls down since then I have learned a few tricks plus anded a fourth ball .I want to learn clubs but can't find them except online I'm a street performer and I just never had any ideal juggling was this big I preform for donations and for all the children who watch in wow
Early in juggling's creation it was actually outlawed because performers were outlaws and most performers were jugglers. It was considered a type of witchcraft and if you were found juggling, you would be burned at the stake. I'm sure that makes everyone feel nice to know they have a talent that they would have been burned to death for doing centuries ago.
@worldjuggling Its narrow minded to think that juggling should be a sport and nothing else, when you watch Gena perform her act is flawing, but when you see a good juggler just stand there and juggle with no emotions its plain boring. And thats fine by me but don't sit there and make comments such as oh that was too much circus, have respect!
amazing that male commentators cannot get through one act without some reference to up her skirt - all that skill, training and thats all they feel is worth commenting on .....
iBeep2009 5 years later and I just want to say, AMEN. Penn is an asshole. These tricks are a thousand times harder than any juggling he’s ever attempted. He is a total sleaze-bag for making those comments. You wouldn’t ever hear him say that Vova’s under-the-leg throws were ‘crowd-pleasers for obvious reasons.’
@JasonRGarfield Well I really don't care what you people do or think, but Gena happens to be my best friend,so I just hate to hear smart ass comments about her performing...
I notice she threw one setup throw during the combination of walkovers and 360's. Can anyone tell me if this still counts as a combination? The performance was obviously amazing regardless. I'm just curious. :p
@@stuartryerse you were allowed to do a setup throw back in 2004 im sure and it would still count as a connection, Jason said so in many of his practice vlogs
