this IS a tutorial, hope people out there learn the must they can from you. It's NOT a 37 minutes of nothing as I use to see around and you also set bookmarks, man, you are the best.
After spending over 10 hours to make my way to the Imperial and Industrious strains, and being stuck with slowest/slower worker traits I knew there had to bee a better way! This guide probably just saved my sanity! Really good guide, not much fluff, some practical usage examples and showing the potential on offer. and it's still relevant in 1.12!
As someone who's never touched any form of bees in minecraft, I laughed a bit too much on bees 'breeding' in the ocean A solid guide tho. Well done. Learned a ton
4 years later and this is the best tutorial for this modpack thank you for making it my only question (which i doubt will get answered): my diamandi bees keep reverting back to their old genetics and idk why
Thought I fucked up made a yellorium queen ended up with 1x fertility and really shitty traits didn’t realize you could use the gene templates without them being fully filled with traits. Thank god
Thank you thank you thank you for this tutorial! I'm pretty sure I have at least 20 views on this video over the last few months. It has been SOO helpful in getting bee breeding started!
I use the DNA Extractor just for fun because its a great way to get rid of excess bees and getting something out of them rather then just deleting them from the world
Thank you. I was needing info on the mod for the series I am doing and you are in the top 2 MineCraft tutorial makers that I watch. keep up the good work.
Absolutely awesome tutorial :) At last someone to rival Direwolf20 on tutorials ;) Love the part at the end when you actually kind of "play" with the mod. Good addition to a tutorial. One good use for the protein / liquid DNA thingy, at least for me: skyblock. I'm playing FTB Infinity Evolved Skyblock edition and that should come in handy. Thanks.
I have 12 chromosomes on one template and a species on another.. when I put them on a princess and drone I get different results in the breeding.. traits that weren't there from the template.. I've even tried it with a queen setting the 12 chromosomes on her and then letting her run her cycle in the Industrial apiary and yet again I get different results.. I put on lifespan shortest and a couple will come out with lifespan short or shortened.. what am I doing wrong???
Okay, one problem: No matter if I have the apiary in the Nether/with the hell emulator, and whether it has nether wart nearby, my fiendish queen refuses to work.
I'm playing on the FTB Infinity modpack and I've been struggling with making the industrial apiary work with empowering queens. It keeps on saying "No flowers", and when I place a crap ton of flowers everywhere around it, it still says that!
Are you sure you're using the right type of flower? You will want to analyze them in the portable analyzer, and check the flower trait. If it says, for example, nether, you need to use nether wart, etc.
the major thing I don't understand and maybe I missed it as at 28:54 you say you need a genetic template with all 13 chromosomes.. how did you get all the chromosomes you wanted?
Kind of an old video but i do have a question. at the end you have your bees in the your base producing, where are you flowers? is it possible to have bees produce without needing flowers nearby?
A question I've had in my head for awhile, (might i add that you may have provided the answer to the question I seek in one of your previous tutorials) is what are you using for those beautiful looking signs/screens you have in your series? They look awesome and I don't know what they are. What do you use?
Question. If i alter the genes of a princess and drone. Can i still get there original genes when i put drones in the machine or will i only get the ones i gave them.
True. It's not bee breeding the way that the author of Foresty would have you do it. With so many other things to do in a mod pack, I like the simplicity of the mod and the ability to move forward without having to spend days of frustration working through breeding. Another side of the coin is Genetics (from Extra Bees) which gives you similar machines but in a much more complicated to set up way. So if you still want to use machines but don't like Gendustry "e-z mode", you can go that route.
Excellent tutorial. Something you did not explain however, if fortune has a effect on the industrial scoop. Also, you did not mention the average 4 months of 16 hours a day playing to get all the species the oldfashioned way, and the roughly 30 hours to get them the gendustry way. Aside from that, its been millenia (internet-time)since your last tutorial, but quality hasnt dropped at all! I will make sure to link it on our forums for all to watch and learn from.
Well, certain bees will produce unique honey combs, or secondary resources. If you look at the end of the video where he goes through his base, he has half a dozen diamandi bees. Those produce as a secondary resource diamond shards, which can be made into whole diamonds. There's bees for most ores, and other specialized bees besides, like for magic.
Damn, this mod is OP as fuck. The other bee mod that was in FTB Ultimate was a hell of a lot more balanced than this. This thing allows you imprint all the genes of a super bee to any normal bee in one go with a 100% chance of success. That other mod only let you do one gene at a time and each syringe or whatever had a limited number of charges so you had to add more charges which made it filthy and then you had to clean it up or your bees would become ignoble and then you could go back to innoculating bees and it wasn't a 100% chance. You also needed royal jelly to start with that mod so you had to go through regular bee breeding whether you liked it or not. hahahaha No wonder everyone has diamond block castles on modded minecraft servers.
bees are awesome but I get my diamonds with 9x sigil of green grove and 10/10/10 diamond seeds in a 7x7 farm i'll net you over 100 blocks of diamond in a few minutes with horn of the wild, manufactory halo, and maybe a black hole talisman. but all that wont resurrect a dragon XD.
Loved the tuto, it really helped as i just started forestry and was having a hard time getting good bees. At the end of the video you show your setup on your server, could you tell me what you used to keep the industriel apiaries running and extract combs from just the back please?
Come on guys, get back onto the horse and keep plugging along. Do a bunch of popular games and get back to making your channel special. You guys have a following and you haven't been consistent for more than a year or so. PULL it together cause you have everything that it takes but making the decision to stay with it PERIOD.
