Clark & Mcguinn briefly played as a mostly acoustic duo around this time and this here version of Dylan's song was captured live in New York' Bottom Line if my source is correct. R.I.P Gene Clark and if Mcguinn sees this, Mcguinn you are one of my favorite musicians of all time and I admire you as a person and entertainer. I love old folk songs and if you ever want to get together and help me record some do let me know ;P

The best Version ever of this Dylan classic! Both voices either on their separated solos or together in harmony are just a perfect feet! These two were the real soul of the Byrds!

This song is so fitting for today. My best friend in the whole world passed away yesterday. We met when we were 8, we are now in our mid 60’s. Roger and Gene’s version give it a somber feeling that neither Dylan or GnR gave it. I still like their versions, but this one really fits my mood today.

What an absolute masterpiece! What for God's sake has happened to music? Those of us who lived during the time when songs like this were written and sung were blessed beyond blessed. I'd go back to those years in a second, and am happy to have been back there to experience them in the first place.

Gene could lay down a melody to sing harmnoy to...they were just a RIGHT combination...McGuinn's 12 playing was definitely set in motion as a gift to the world

The best of both worlds -Clark & McGuinn. Gene's great voice with McGuinn's Rickenbacker. Listen to the smooth harmonies !! Amazing how such a beautiful sound can be produced by only 2 individuals ! Wish they had made a studio lp together. I miss you Gene !!

I saw Gene and Roger in concert in late 1977 at William Paterson College in Wayne, NJ. What an incredible show - together and individually! What a tragedy for Gene t pass away a few years later. Tanks for posting this!

Saw them play in Newport RI at The Salt, had the pleasure of making their acquaintance too, autographs, the works...saw Roger quite a few times but that was my one chance with Gene

McGuinn's a really neat guy. I think it says something for his stance on copyright that his official website links to youtube search. After all, he never saw royalties from some of the early Byrds stuff.
