Puff was in an SUV, shooters had an Impala SS, just a step on the gas and they would've catch up in no time. Then they decide to 'shoot Biggie in the heat of the moment' you wait for a car show to be over, hours, and then in the heat of the moment you just shoot whatever the target is.
But I heard Gene say that puff acted suspicious on the day and even forced him to stay with Biggie the whole day while he went out without security. And he also said that puff forced Biggie to that party. Gene also said that he heard somethings about the potential shooting that night and puff stopped most of the security guys and didn't even pay them. It's Gene who said that puff locked him(Gene) in back by pushing his(puff) seat far back so that he(Gene) will delay in reacting should there be any shooting. I always said Gene was consistent but now I have my doubts. How can puff go out to arrange people that should come shoot him? Nah Gene, here you're loosing me.

At least on his most recent interview (right before this one), on Vlad he said "they comin' to kill us, Big". Even years ago, I heard that (not from Gene) that BOTH Big and Puff were targets. Puff was aware and probably didn't warn Biggie.
