The man is still doing his thing all these many years later & better than ever before with alot of his craft! Still have so much respect for the man & he still inspires me today at 47 as he did when I was 15 listening to Dark Angel & then Death. 🥁🤘👊🖤
Man, what a way to start off with Bloodlines... probably my favorite Dethklok song. Also pleasantly surprised to see he's on a custom chrome Pearl Reference kit, they are killer drums. Thanks for the show Gene!
Met Gene in Atlanta at the Masquerade while he was with Chuck. I think they were playing with Cryptopsy. But Gene is the most kind, down to earth, and genuine professional metal musicians I've ever talked to. A very close second to Nergal. Equally genuine and kind. Not too mention Genes list of accomplishments simply based on bands who have asked for his boundless talent on the kit. Love the guy. And his playing.
Gene is the dude who can play for or just sit in for a live show for any metal band. I met him back around 2008-2009 when he sat in for Unearth at a show in Dallas Texas. Mike Justain had just quit so they got Gene The Machine 🔥🤘
Great drumming Gene, what a pleasure to watch such a pro playing. Respect man. Seems like the big dude on the left side from min. 7:30 on, had a hard time going through all of this
Gonna stir the pot here. I'm a huge thrash, heavy metal fan and totally appreciate the skills of the likes of Gene here and Dave Lombardo, Chris Adler, Portnoy, Thomas Haakeand I can go on and on . But look at some shit by Thomas Lang and Neil Peart ( God rest his soul). I don't know if the last 2 guys can fill the shoes of the previously mentioned but man their drum solos are unbeatable!
