He’s sharp as a tack, just looks at a part and instantly knows what it is and from. Awesome dude.

A cool man who has forgotten more than any of us will likely ever know…what a treasure! I hope people can meet, talk to him and record what he says as it’s all very important.

What a legend, still travelling all over too.

What a great man. Me and my two older brothers went to the 19th Atlantic Nationals. I saw Gene at his booth. I bought one of his signed posters. I asked to shake his hand. He was very polite. I was about to leave when he asked if I wanted a picture. Being a typical Canadian I didn't think to ask because I didn't want to bother him. I got two photos with him. What a great day. The car show was amazing. So many awesome cars of all types, beautiful scenery and really friendly people. We enjoyed the early gathering of cars in the center of downtown. This is totally unrelated, but me and my brothers took pictures picture of us beside the "Mechanic Road(?)" sign post on the "Church St" intersection. My oldest brother is a heavy duty mechanic, next brother is a helicopter engineer and I am an auto mechanic.

Im from Mexico the state of Chihuahua, il love the hotrod industry, its great to watch ya all , mrs Winfield has also visited and customs painted a car in Juarez Mexico, at street toys and customs, I wish to live a long healthy life like mr winfield 👍💪

I don’t have Gene’s autograph but I do have a photo of him sat in my ‘32 Ford Roadster giving a thumbs up, when he came over to the U.K. a few years ago. A real old school bodywork guy & a proper gentleman.

I went to a car show and there was Gene. Years earlier I was gifted a 40 Ford truck. In the glove box I found a receipt showing it had been painted at Gene's Modesto, CA shop in 1964 and the hood at cool ass paint work done. So I ask Gene if he remembered painting that truck. He informed me of the thousands of vehicles he had painted and if he seen it he might remember painting it. I left the wife and family members at the car show and drove home and removed the hood and drove back to the car show and carried that hood to where Gene was located . I told Gene I took the hood off to show you. I looked at me and said " WHAT... DID I BUY THE DAMN THING". We laughed so FFFNN hard ! He signed it and we took pictures. I Love that Guy...
