Praiseworthy and sincere efforts. General Azam Uddin Khan was not only General but also Madaarul Mahaam (Prime Minister) of Rampur Estate from 1887 to 13 April 1891till his assassination. That time,Nawab Mohd.Mushtaq Ali Khan Bahadur was paralysed and physically weak in ruling the Estate. In such circumstances,there was formed an Administrative Council of Rampur Estate in the presidentship of General Azam Uddin Khan. He was well mannered and administrative person who worked for the development of Rampur but martyred on 13 April 1891 opposite Sarai Pukhta near Hamid Inter College. After his death, Present Hamid College was built in his memory with contemporary name of Azeem Uddin Memorial School. You can see stone plate on the historical porch of Hamid College in his memory.
