Glad I watched this I'm in the same boat right now and watching to see were my strength and weakness are. Then write them down and get myself back up and support my family for I have definitely lost my way, definitely need to get it back
You don’t need to go to school for construction. It’s not overly complicated but it is a lot to learn. OTJ is the way to go. Start as a laborer, if you’ve got the stuff you’ll have no problems. In theory. The hardest part about construction fields is it’s hard to find a company with people you can stand to work with. It’s hit or miss. A lot of places wont actually train you they’ll just treat you like garbage until you figure out on your own or quit, and a lot of toxic workers… drugs, alcohol, just generally awful personalities. Don’t let that discourage you not all places are like that
These courses should be more of a thing. I've worked with a few companies and basically you just do what you're told because it costs more money to stop and explain everything to someone who doesn't know.
