Love it!! I am going to make my first book.now! I do have a question ... Will I be alerted when a book sells? If I do nothing more to a book is it there on Amazon forever?
So whats the total overhead cost per book Including the subscription to bookbolt plus Amazon printing Amazon selling plus amazon shipping then how do you get paid is it via say pay pal or similar how much will that cost.? Plus any additional fees I may have missed...??? That's all extremely important when looking at profit margin and if its even worth the time realistically

Here are three things to incorporate into your next video on BookBolt. 1) Ensure the images are 300 DPI to prevent rejections or delays on the KDP publishing platform. 2) Ensure the images are sufficiently large so there is no white space around the images. 3) (Very Important) When designing the cover, on the first screen, be sure to enter the correct number of pages that will be used. Failing to do this will result in a file that will be rejected by the KDP platform.

I have a hard back Diary/note book I use now. Very helpful. Sometimes your phone or computer can fail you. Pen to paper can save your life. Great idea.
Heyya Marissa!! Thank you so much for this informative video!! I published my first book last week! The only issue I had was perfectly fitting my cover image. I would always have it enlarged enough even going a bit past the guidelines yet during the KDP preview, there would always be white space where there shouldn't be. Hopefully, I don't have this issue next time! Also, 1 question! If we wanted to give customers multiple color options to choose from, do we publish a whole new book to achieve that or is there a way to add in a color chooser option from the listing page? I watched your video in detail. I paused, rewind, FF and followed step by step. I just finished creating and launching my Amazon KDP notebook. It will be under review for 72 hours and then it will go live all being well or I'll get an email. I did a faith based Notebook/ Journal. I am so excited! It took me two days amidst juggling kiddos and mom life, but I did it and hopefully it pays off.

I had been looking for a side hustle of some sort that was not too intensive and complex, but that would generate some kind of income, because lets face it, I need it. Something like this is exactly what I've been looking for. But I love the idea of creating and designing something myself with low content, and then being able to sell it for profit! I really like notebooks and journals and they are useful, and everyone uses them. Also fun to collect. Stuck on we download kdp spy didn’t show up for me in App Store also when downloading interior how do I know when all the pages are downloaded would I be able to add scriptures in the interior of my journal?

Battling a housing crises here in Australia. Since before the Pandemic there's just no affordable private homes to live. So I found a bedroom in an old guys house in Cairns (Australia) and set up a small office in the bedroom. Not an ideal life but am planning to emigrate to Batangas in the Philippines after the borders are opened. I got a shop, house and some land there with my Filipina Fiancee. Love watching your videos and learning all I can. Have to keep consistent on it and apply it so I not forget anything.
Hi Marissa! Thank you for this video. I just uploaded my first journal for publishing. In my (very limited) experience, the profit you quote is incorrect. According to your video, you can make $4 on a $6 book, but you actually don’t. According to KDP, the commission on a $6 book is about $1.30. Did I make a mistake somewhere? If so, I’d love some feedback! Thanks!

Hi Marissa, great video! Insanely helpful In! In my state, Missouri, I couldn't collect sales tax (Amazon pulls the tax) without a state sales tax license. Ugh I'll need to apply for this upfront... but there are many locales in USA that wouldn't require that step. I am considering moving to a tax-friendly location. Love your videos... they are always great resources. I will definitely go forward with this idea.
I just wanted to drop by to thank you and tell you how helpful this video is. I was curious about low content publishing with kdp and didn't really know in detail how to get started, but this video was very clear and easy to follow. I saw this back in November and got started right away after following this video. I was lucky to catch some of the Christmas time sales which I did over 100 sales in December alone. And now I am at over 280 lifetime sales since November and looking forward to see what kind of success I could have with this. Thanks for making this video, I am sure it has helped many others as well 😊

It's been 9 days since I watched this video and published my first book. Now I have about 10 Live and 60 In Review. It's a long process to get to a position where you can live from that, but I hope I'll manage to do that.
@@M-Jmedia I'm answering from my second account. I have about 14$ and 120 books live. Everybody is on Internet trying to earn some money so KDP is saturated. Also, only 2 of my books are selling. And she wasn't right about few things. You earn about 1$ or 2$ per sale If your book is for example 6,99$. Slow business and really hard, esp. these days in pandemic.

This is the best yet. You mentioned "reverse engineering" to start making money right away. I am not very computer literate. What did you mean by that?
It means find something that works, and then figure out what steps it took to become successful. Example: Go to the top selling books and see what keywords they are using. What type of designs are selling. What do the interiors looks like, etc... And while you do have to put your own "spin" on it, use that information to inform your decisions. You're not recreating the wheel, you just creating the whitewall tires that goes on it.

You also could probably talk to the IRS. I've been given bad advice from tax "experts" I've paid for money to, but the IRS saved me and told me how to fix it. That gave me more money. Of course if you have a good accountant, but all means support that! But people think the IRS is it to get them, but they're not. They're rather helpful and are the source who knows for sure.
@@candacechilds4442 No. Amazon sends a 1099 at the end of the year for tax purposes, you are self-employed. You can get an EIN if you want and become an LLC if you want but neither are necessary. Call the IRS if it makes you more comfortable

Hi Marissa. I have been doing this kdp thing for over a year and I want to give you a heads-up so you can warn your viewers. I started making really good money and all of the sudden my account was terminated. They said it was because I used a copyrighted image. I was very careful and used free public-domain Images. I am now finding out that this is happening to a lot of people. Once they start making a lot of money and start doing well they get terminated out of the blue. You are unable to speak with anyone over the phone and all you get is an email with the same response over and over. It would cost too much to get a lawyer so I can't fight it. Warn everyone that maybe KDP is not the way to go. They are Crooks. I feel so taken advantage of.
Hi Marissa, I have a KDP account and I did some low-content book there. Several months after, I have found that I’ve been charged by Amazon every month.and It is not based on sales.(coz I haven’t sold anything yet).So I stopped doing it immediately for controlling my cost. Do you know why They charge me and are you sure KDP is totally free before you make a sell?
Everyone, no matter what the topic, rushes through the step-by-step. Write every detail and READ it. Don't try to remember it all and do it at the same time. You will experience such a high degree of stress you will rush and lose focus. Be personable along the way but do not, not, not talk as if we viewers can see where or what the flying cursor is doing! Never talk in generalities, saying "click this" or "pull that down". What "this", what "that"? Can not see what you see. Just read it for our sakes. Ask yourself if every member of the audience has two computers, one to watch you on and one to follow and do on our own screen. Massively, no, I bet. SLOW DOWN. I have watched dozens of tutorials and never got everything I needed.
