Generations Raytracing - Crisis City without Iblis

Upcoming mod that adds real-time GPU raytracing to Sonic Generations. Global illumination, shadows & reflections are completely real-time and raytraced. In this video, I'm showcasing the feature where you can immediately switch to another level's lighting.
The video was recorded on a RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU using DLSS Balanced mode. Crisis City is particularly demanding, so there are some dips to 50~ FPS. The performance might not stay the same as I continue to add more features to the mod.
Red surfaces are shaders I haven't coded yet. The noise is not intended as it's a side effect of real-time raytracing. A denoiser needs to be implemented to overcome the issue.
The mod is going to be compatible with all level mods by default. It should also work on AMD cards, but I haven't implemented FSR2 yet.
This mod does NOT utilize RTX Remix in any way or form!

Or in this case Egypt given that’s where Soleanna is (likely a rebuilt Thonis which was basically Venice before it was cool, until it got destroyed & sank under the sea in a quake)

@@ItsJustGav_07 No it doesn’t. It’s only based visually on Venice because that’s what people know. In reality, it’s supposed to be a futuristic version of Thonis, which was basically an Egyptian Venice. The real life Thonis doesn’t exist anymore because it was destroyed & sank in an earthquake: unlike Venice the city’s foundations were primitive. Not quite the flames of disaster as quakes aren’t usually volcanic but close enough. I mean, the Duat is where the lava, fire & brimstone version of hell came from: those of the damned who were “lucky” enough not to get their souls eaten by Ammit were tossed in a big lava lake, likely inspiring Abrahamic religions or at least the Christian idea of Hell later.

As a matter of fact, no, he didn't :) It's DLSS magic. DLSS renders the game at a lower resolution, then uses AI to fill in the missing details. Since DLSS has been trained on very high resolution images, it automatically "imagines" higher quality textures when filling in the blanks (upscaling the image). A very surprising, and very welcome side effect of AI upscaling. Edit: Source: I too noticed higher quality textures and asked him if he did something with anisotropic filtering. He said it was DLSS only.

So it's like, normal Crisis City except it's hard to see because you got rid of the lighting designed specfically made for the level... wow awesome... the power of raytracing... maybe one day someone will actually put the technology to use on something that isn't shitter than whatever it's replacing.

Not a big fan of the lighting. IDK the original lighting should of just been enhanced instead of adding regular day time lighting. Kind of ruins the aesthetic of this was the end of the world with how darkly clouded the sky was with an orange hue from everything burning.
