His comment about studying theology is very confusing. He starts out saying how we can’t make God in our own image, then disputes the way to actually stop from doing that. The fact is if you know God apart from the Bible, you don’t know God. As theology is just the study of God, we should all be theologians to an extent. Finally, the comment flatly ignores the command to study to show ourselves approved as written in 2 Timothy. Prayer and hearing from God is good, but without understanding who God is through His word, we may be listening to a different influence. IJS

I came here after seeing a clip online where that was segmented out and I was like what in the world going on over here. But after listening I think he is simply speaking to the theological debates we see taking place that is absent the grace of GOD. Also towards this notion that you don't know GOD or can teach about GOD if you don't have Seminarian credentials which is a brewing conversation. Very good observation though.

It is asinine to teach that studying theology is asinine! This "sermon" of John Gray contradicts the Bible, because he didn't study Biblical theology. Oh boy... flee from this guy. He will lead you astray!
