Quackshot, Shining Force 2, Shadow Dancer, Alien Storm, E-Swat, Soleil, Ristar, Streets of Rage 1, Bare Knuckle 3, Rolling Thunder 2, Splatterhouse 2, Rocket Knight Adventures, Ranger X, Pulseman, Mercs, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Vectorman 2, Ecco: Tides of Time, Super Street Fighter 2, Robo Aleste, Road Avenger, Snatcher, Rise of the Dragon, Lunar: the Silver Star and Lunar: Eternal Blue and Alien Soldier. Also Mega Drive remakes for the following arcade games: Shinobi, Shadow Dancer and E-Swat.
Ones i want for this new Genesis mini are: Ghostbusters, ESWAT, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles, Alien Storn, Revenge of Shinobi, maybe Aladdin? and Trouble Shooter.
All WORKING DESIGN GAMES! Not just Popful mail but also Lunar Silver Star Story and Lunar The Eternal Blue. As well as any other expensive/rare games that you can think of. Almost forgot to add 1 more game, Crusader of Centy. Perhaps the most expensive Sega Genesis game by far. Costing over $1000 CIB. If you could believe it.
@King Charles ✔ totally this. Because the collectors price will not drop on the old stuff it will remain sought-after but this will allow people to play classics Edit: perspective, I am a game collector.
Dark Wizard, Ranger X, Lunar 1 & 2, ESWAT, Alien Storm, Snatcher, Final Fight CD, Gain Ground, Crusader of Centy, Shadow Dancer, Golden Axe 2, Wrestle War, Phantasy Star 3.
Sega CD games are too large for the storage they use on these minis. It would probably be only able to fit one Sega CD game. I know because I like to add more games to these classic minis. I added some Master System, 32x and more Genesis games to my Genesis mini.
I'd really love for Eternal Champions Challenge from the dark side. It's a crime that game has never come out officially for anything other then the Sega CD original.
I would like to see these added --Genesis-- -Street of rage 3 -Splatter house 3 -Shinning force 2 -Thunder force 2 -Phantasy star 2 -Phantasy star 3 -Revenge of shinobi -shadow dancer -Snow Bros -Rocket knights adventures -Sparkster: Rocket Knight Adventures 2 -Quack Shot Starring Donald Duck -Tiny Toon Adventures Buster's Hidden Treasure -Garfield Caught in the Act -Musha -Ristar -El Viento -Chiki chiki boys -pulseman -eliminate down --CD-- -Vay -The Misadventures of Flink -Dark Wizard -Popful Mail -Snacher -Novastorm -android assault -sol feace
MUSHA, Vay, Gaiares, Elemental Master, Lunar 1 and 2, Keio Flying Squadron, Snatcher, Eternal Champions CD, Zero Wing, Rocket Knight Adventures, Sol Feace, Dark Wizard, Sorcerer's Kingdom, Traysia, Crusader of Centy, Android Assault, Robo Aleste, Vapor Trail, Truxton, Hellfire, and if they can put a 32x game in: Knuckles Chaotix.
I can think of MANY: Sonic The Hedgehog (Japanese) Out Run 2019 (Western) Snatcher Ecco The Dolphin (CD version) Ecco 2: The Tides of Time (CD version) Earthworm Jim Special Edition Earthworm Jim 2 Golden Axe 2 Streets of Rage 1 Dragon’s Lair Super Street Fighter 2: The New Challengers Columns 3: Revenge of Columns (Western) Sonic Spinball (Japanese) The Revenge of Shinobi (Western) The Super Shinobi 2 (Japanese) Rocket Knight Adventures
Lunar 1 and/or 2, Popful Mail, Snatcher, basically any of the stupidly expensive Sega CD games that deserve to be played, but can't (legally) because they're rare.
It would be a travesty if neither Ranger X or Rocket Knight Adventures made it into a Genesis collection. And if they can add Alien Soldier back for the US, they can do the same for MUSHA. I am also surprised that Ristar was nowhere to be found on the original.
While I will say that Rister is readily available in other SEGA compilations, and MUSHA can now be played on the Switch as of late, where on a system released in the last 30 years are Ranger X and Rocket Knight Adventures commonly found? As much as we like to think we are the center of everything, the target audience for the Genesis Mini systems are not people who still collect for their Genesis systems 3 decades later and play the system every other week. It is for people who at one point played games in the past and want to relive the system again either for nostalgia, or with their kids, or maybe their system has been packed away for 20 years and they want something in HD out of the box. MUSHA, I should add, IS a $200+ game for the Genesis when you can even find it. And closer to $1000 when it is complete.
Ranger X is a masterpiece, such a technical achievement and such a unique concept! I’ve never seen ang other Genesis game that combined tank gameplay with on foot gameplay in such a creative way as that one (besides Blaster Master, but that’s an NES one)
Silpheed Sega CD is making my heart swoon, it’s such a majestic and technically insane game, yet this Game Art classic is not often discussed nowadays so I am in shock that they included it
I loved Larisa Oleynik, so I appreciate the Alex Mack reference! If I didn't already have a Genesis/CD/32X combo I'd be more interested in getting this, it has some great titles.
That Megadrive version of Virtua Racing is an incredible acgievement. I think it runs at 15 FPS, but it looks so smoth and fast. The high up chase camera is good for learning the basic layout of the track, but the cockpit view is really good for getting right on the racing line and putting in some great times once you do know your way round. It's ashame they're not putting the 32X version on, because that was the best home port.
Wheel Of Fortune from the Sega CD! Many people don't realize it exists and it's a pretty awesome word game for the casual gamer. Most realistic Wheel Of Fortune game as far as video games go. Also, Minnesota Fats: Pool Legends from the Genesis.
Yeah that obscure, real obscure. I'm sure there are licensing fees. These things are always a total mess when selecting titles and they go with whatever they can budget based on rights fees.
The 2 sad things are it was a good experience playing it and I sold it cheap with all my Sega cd stuff when I got married now I do not even think it can be obtained for reasonable price.
I Liked The Latter, Licened AtGames Ones ALOT MORE! As They Were Pretty Easy To Find in MANY Stores & Fairly Reasonable ($40-$60). They Even Had 2-StreetFighter Games, MegaMan; WileyWars & ALL 4-MortalKombat Titles... Licened By: WarnerBros! (When They COULD Have Used Old Midway/Williams Roms?)
Really sucks how the only way to get this thing is through Amazon. I try to support them as little as I possibly can (I know it doesn't make a difference, it's just a principle) and the fact that that they make you pay an extra 25 dollars In shipping directly from Japan instead of just making a full on US model is also disappointing.
Knuckles Chaotix. Yeah it’s not Sega CD….But 32X was a Genesis add-on and the game wasn’t included in Origins. C’mon Sega re-release it sometime will ya?
Sega hasn't convinced me yet on buying this. I agree with Snatcher & Popful Mail. They need to put those $700+ games on there to convince me. I'm also sad to see a lack of shootem-ups.
@@tonberrymasta you're right, but one of those is great( Lightning Force and the others are sub par to games like Eliminate Down, Grindstormer, Gaieres, Arrow Flash, MUSHA and more. Silpheed is mediocre and i don't care for Fantasy Zone.
@@tonberrymasta and? what about bio hazard battle, SOLfeace/Deace, gun star heroes, batman and robin, Atomic Runner, Turrican / Mega Turrican. RoboCop vs Terminator,.. etc.. there are like 100 amazing shmups for the genesis and this system is delivering trash
Sonic 3D Blast and Vectorman 2 weren't about 'experimenting with graphics because of the Nintendo 64 announcement'. They were the result of the success Nintendo had had with Donkey Kong Country and the trend of using pre-rendered CG graphics as assets for these 2D games, which led to games like the original Vectorman, the DK sequels, Sonic 3D Blast, Super Mario RPG, and others following said trend. Vectorman 2, DKC3, Sonic 3D Blast, and Super Mario RPG all came out in 1996. Vectorman was supposed to be Sega's answer to Donkey Kong Country, and Sonic 3D Blast and Super Mario RPG were both the "isometric" products both companies had.
I'm still hoping they include Shining Force II, since the first Genesis Mini only had the first game. I don't think it'll happen, since they're EA games, but it'd also be cool if this Mini included at least one of the Strike games (Desert Strike, Jungle Strike, or Urban Strike).
Great that they are announcing the Genesis mini 2 on the states. I honestly pray and hope they add Snatcher, Pulse man, Rocket Knight adventures, Sonic 3, Sonic & knuckles(also S3&K), Ecco tides of time, Adventures of Batman and Robin, Robocop vs the terminator and or The Terminator sega cd ver(fun side scroller with a great soundtrack). Please Sega just add great beloved to the Genesis mini 2.
Basically, the entire Working Designs catalogue would be great. Other great choices: Snatcher, Rocket Knight/Sparkster, Quackshot, and Mickey Mania, though licensing may get in the way.
#1 has to be Konami's SNATCHER... at least this time it'll be in english, instead of Konami being Konami and just dumping the Japanese one on the TG16 Mini without even offering an english translation... #2 AD&D: Eye of the Beholder cus I had it as a kid and always thought it was interesting, though I never could figure out the maze labyrinth in level 2! definitely looking forward to playgint the Genesis/SEGA CD games they did include, though!
14:53 Virtua Cop & Virtual On... technically Shenmue was the Virtua RPG as it takes place in the Virtua Fighter universe & was based on a cancelled Sega Saturn Virtua RPG.
4 of many that would be nice to see is The Immortal, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, Sewer Shark and Eternal Champions. It sucks that Virtua Racing isn't the 32X version. At least it has Silpheed on it, loved that game when it came out. If Earthworm Jim and Batman Returns from Sega CD doesn't come on it, I bet many people are not gonna be happy.
For unrealistic kicks: Mega Turrican Director's Cut For the Classic Game Room enthusiasts: Truxton The rest possible: Zero Wing Retrobit release Snatcher Sonic 3 and Knuckles with Sonic 2 Knuckles to complete the saga (they can and should do it, even though we have Origins) Phantasy Star that isn't there
Unfortunately with Sonic 3 they'd have to use the prototype/pc versions of some songs but besides that I really think they should have them all separate and the lock on versions, even Blue Spheres.
I Once Found A ROM Of SONIC-3DBLAST Director's Cut? It Was From: InternetArchives! Apparently Uploaded By One Of The ActualDirectors? I'm Pretty Sure It's STILL There!
Sony should take another crack at the classic mini console concept by following up the Playstation Classic with a PSone Classic. Add the dualshock controller and focus on games that utilize it such as Ape Escape, etc.
I missed out on getting the original on deep discount from Wal-Mart a couple of years ago, and I've regretted it ever since. I'll probably pick this up if it's moddable.
Wow, I remember Silpheed on my friends IBM computer, running on MSdos. I guess it was 1988ish. It blew my mind, I had an Atari and this was next level.
If we're getting Splatterhouse 2, we need Splatterhouse 3 as well. Rolling Thunder 3, MUSHA, Revenge of Shinobi and Alien Storm would be nice too. - Rob, West Mansion
After seeing the games they went with in the US version, I think I’m just going to go ahead and go for the Mega Drive>Genesis. I was worried that Sega would more or less just throw in whatever NA roms they had easy access to to replace the JP roms they didn’t want to bother securing the rights for, and that seems to be the case. I’m just glad I can read a bit of Japanese and should be able to enjoy some of the JRPG’s it comes with well enough.
Shining in the Darkness is by far the best game on here, tbh. With one caveat: it is *mandatory* to cheat and use maps. Because without a map, it is *miserable.* You just gotta learn when to say “Okay, I’m in over my head, time to take my gains back to the town, heal up, and make another push.”
SOUL STAR CD, ROAD RASH CD, FINAL FIGHT CD , STAR WARS CD, SOL FEACE CD, BATMAN RETURNS CD, ALADDIN , SUPER STREET FIGHTER 2, REVENGE OF SHINOBY, TMNT HYPERSTONE, SONIC 3 AND BONUS PLUS SEGA CD CLASICS 5+1 THIS IS MY LIST I HOPE THEY TAKE CARE OF ME.
It's sad that The Sega Genesis Classic Edition has been Discontinued When I Found out it Contained Castlevania Bloodlines I wish I Picked it up when I had the Chance.
If you have any of the modern consoles, you can buy the Castlevania Anniversary Collection, which includes Bloodlines. If you have Nintendo Switch Online+Expansion Pak status, Bloodlines is in the Sega Genesis app.
There were more Virtua games! Virtua Tennis, came out in 99 for the Arcades and then Dreamcast either that year or the next. Loved this series, best Tennis games ever. Virtua Cop which was mid 90s, awesome arcade shooters I think there were more too.
There were more. Sega also developed the Virtua Striker series of soccer games, one of which they released on the Dreamcast here in the States. Virtua Cop did well on the Saturn, too.
32X Library gets no love. Knuckles Chaotix, Kolibi, Virtua Fighter, Virtua Racing Deluxe, Shadow Squadron, Star Wars Arcade…. Just released every single one of them. The entire library.
I'll still buy it simply for the fact that they decided to go with the Genesis Model 2. And because I grew up with Model 2, to me, THAT model is the Genesis, not the original one which I have zero memory nor nostalgia for. I'm aware of the differences of sound quality on the actual original Models 1 and 2, of course. But when it comes to _visual_ nostalgia, for me it's all about Model 2. That's also why I skipped the first Mini, because it was Model 1 and just didn't feel anything for it. (On a side note, my own Model 2 is modified with a Triple Bypass mod and has the Model 1 sound quality, it's the best of both worlds and the best version of the Genesis to own for my tastes)
It's good that there are some Sega CD games included. Maybe they could have included some 32X games also. Too bad Nintendo canceled the N64 Classic. A mini GameCube would have also been good.
Completely agree with you on Snatcher, especially as the PC Engine Mini was such a cruel tease by only including the Japanese original on its international release. Speaking of global releases, do we know if this thing is coming out in Europe? I can't order it on Amazon UK.
@@Louis-wp3fq I agree. I own the originals as well as the PLAYSTATION Remakes. Definitely prefer the SEGA CD Originals. They need to be released in a collection for modern consoles.
I'm guessing that licensing issues prevents Sega from re-releasing any of these Sega CD games for the Sega Genesis Mini 2 North American version: 1) AD&D - Eye of the Beholder 2) The Adventures of Batman & Robin 3) The Amazing Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin 4) Cadillacs and Dinosaurs: The Second Cataclysm 5) Mickey Mania: the Timeless Adventures of Mickey Mouse 6) The Space Adventure - Cobra: The Legendary Bandit (Maybe this is too mature?) Too bad Sega can't do an U.S. translation for: 1) Record of Lodoss War
Aladdin , Earthworm jim 2, sonic 3 and Knuckles, both Rocket Knight games, Snatcher, Final fight cd, Eternal champions cd. If thoze games are on it i'll pre order it in a heartbeat
Rolling Thunder grade should be S, specially for the 2 players co-op. Great graohics, great soundtrack, great playability, and better than the arcade original
My picks for Genesis games that need to be on here are Contra Hard Corps, Michael Jackson's Moonwalker, Comix Zone and Truxton would be really cool! CD games id love to see is Heart of the Alien, Night trap, one of the Lets Make a music Video games and Sewer Shark is a must.
In Super Hang-On, hold down the turbo button along with the acceleration button once you get to 280 kph. Your speed is gonna climb up to 320, and it feels like it. Well, to me at least.
Sweet Shining Force 1 & 2 were my favorite games from that Era for sure. I am getting this just for Shining force CD, never had the luxury of playing it.
