A special type of reedy grass. They smoke it and oil it with coconut oil to give it a nice rich brown colour. The boys skirts are left plain and not smoked.
This girls mum is a Banaban from Ocean Island who have relocated to Rabi Island in the Fiji Islands.....her dad is from Kiribati....she is dressed in a Banaban traditional dance costume nd also performimg a Banaban Traditional Dance......I think Iam correct
usenia gill yep and Banaba is still Kiribati people but the dance is abit different it more softer/ relax movement than the ones that used on the main islands. 😇
