I was definitely not expecting this albino/leucistic feature to turn up, but it's pretty cool! This game is really turning into something special. Absolutely no idea what the two teased species could be, but it's interesting that they're tied into the same theme....

I think that the one with fur might be a rhino like elasmotherium or paraceratherium and the scaly one im like 90% sure is quadrapedal so this is very likely a megalania
@foxxtitan7028

Elasmoth is already in the game. And not so sur for the second they can ealsy have taked the pic to make us think it's quadraped when it's not.

@@foxxtitan7028 The woolly rhinoceros (Coelodonta antiquus) is in the game, not elasmotherium. The 2 both lived on the mammoth steppe but elasmotherium was much larger and had only one horn (or bosse, we don’t really know). Either way I am doubting it’s elasmotherium as we already have the woolly rhino in game and I think the devs would pick a more unique option first. Then again I could be wrong

my guess is daeodon and megalania, fuzz and scales rarely come together in any theme save Cenozoic, and it'd make sense given the old concept art, and the little fur line that goes along the spine could possibly be daeodon's fuzzy variant.

Really glad about the direction they're taking the game. I bought it (as early release) and tried to play it, but it just wasn't fun when you let a dino loose and the humans didn't react to it. I'm SO GLAD they're working on human reactions to dinosaur breakouts. That kind of thing makes games fun. I hope they include people being eaten by the dinosaurs as well. Also, I love the art style they're going with for their human guests from now on. Looks really great.

@Bailey-the-Domain-Keeper
@Bailey-the-Domain-Keeper Год назад
Albino- Lack of all pigmentation (while commonly described as having red or pink eyes they can also have blue eyes) Amelanistic- Lack of melanin (note many ‘albino’ reptiles are technically amelansitic not true albinos because they don’t lack all pigmentations but lack simply melanin. In mammals and the like, melanin is the major pigmentation but in reptiles and amphibians they have several pigments responsible for color. They will still have these when amelanistic and this is where you get your reddish colors in some albino reptiles and such animals) Melanistic- More than normal melanin production Leustic- Reduced layers of melanin/pigmentation (they often retain dark patterns and the average eyecolor seen) Piebald- Certain areas of the organism may lack color due to patches of the body not producing the proper pigmentation
@TheGreatWolfYT
@TheGreatWolfYT Год назад
yup, in reptile morphs usually albino is used as a synonym for amelanistic (although not always, there are morphs referred to as amel) and those still have red or yellow coloration. Leucistic is usually used for lack of all pigments, I remember this thinking about ball pythons where a "lucy" is a completely white snake and comes from the word leucistic. To add to your list, axanthic is lack of yellow (making the animal look darker in color) and anerythrism (usually shortened to anery) is lack of red.
@Bailey-the-Domain-Keeper
@Bailey-the-Domain-Keeper Год назад
And then you have the opposites, xanthism where you have abnormal amounts of yellow pigmentation, usually as a result of the lack of red pigmentation. And erythism being the abnormal amounts of red pigmentation (ever seen those pink grasshoppers? Those are an example). Can also be the reason you see things such as ‘strawberry’ leopards while xanthism can be contributed to ‘blonde’ animals such as golden zebras, etc. :D
@TheGreatWolfYT
@TheGreatWolfYT Год назад
@@Bailey-the-Domain-Keeper I wonder if there's a word for the green pigment
@Bailey-the-Domain-Keeper
@Bailey-the-Domain-Keeper Год назад
@@TheGreatWolfYT As far as I’m aware, some medical conditions can cause abnormal green colorations, the growth of photosynetic organisms along an organism’s skin and fur can result in greenish tints, but for green pigment itself from my understanding it’s majorly influence by the featuring of yellow and blue pigments together. That’s why when you have a frog that lakes yellow pigmentation it’ll have a blue coloration
@TheGreatWolfYT
@TheGreatWolfYT Год назад
@@Bailey-the-Domain-Keeper that's interesting! I was under the impression blue mostly doesn't exist as a pigment in animals, but it's made by tiny structures on their integument that reflects blue light. I know it's the case with blue Morpho butterflies. Would that make for example green tree pythons yellow with the surface of their scales reflecting blue light, resulting in an overall green appearance? Or I might be misremembering the blue pigment thing.

@@rogelioreyes79 Why would Thyla be furless? It is literally about as big as red kangaroo and likely lived in generally cooler and better shaded habitats. IMO is likier to be one of the mammals that was in the EA list, either Daeodon or Paraceratherium.

Torvosaurus is already in the game. The second new species could be a theropod, but the first one is more mammalian looking because it has little fur-like filaments on top and the rest is bare skill. If it was a theropod you would expect the featherless part to be scaly
