I ordered this a month ago and love it ! I had ordered one of the others walker transport chairs that had the hard seat and the bar for back rest and sent back the same day, . But this Hugo is just right for my needs Thank you Hugo,,
I’m having some health issues with my joints, but we had a family trip planned for New York City. This ru-vid.comUgkxuxJwamLFanm476LC5WPeTouyyU1GXomC was perfect! It’s lightweight enough that my friend could carry it up or down stairs when we needed to. (I can walk very short distances) It was comfortable for me to sit in, I would say if you’re super tall it might be a little cramped. I’m 5’1” and the foot rests were the perfect height. This may not be the best one for long term use, you get what you pay for, but for something that fits our budget that gives me accessibility while we deal with my health this was amazing.
Bought this about this in 2019 after watching video for travel and outdoor park walking. Genius is right. Light, easy to use, comfortable, and somewhat stylish. Side fold is awesome. Thanks guys you are my default Resource for all ADL issues.
Perfect - I walked my 99 year old mother in a lite weight wheel chair back in 2013 -2015 but I always wanted to find a walker-chair like this. This is exactly what I wanted - even my sister could have used this for her husband in 2016 to 2019
As a caregiver who is developing my own joint and mobility issues, I give this walker an A+++! My biggest problem when dealing with walkers is trying to hoist them into my SUV. The weight is an issue, along with the clumsiness of the walker that constantly opens up as I try to put it in the back or the second passenger seat. Pulling it closed is also another problem. Every time I do, I pinch or bang my fingers. I always have black and blues all over my hands and fingers. I transport my mother and great aunt on a regular basis. I am always stressed through the process. I am definitely going to be checking out this walker. Thanks for this review.
Bought this last year after seeing this review. Still very happy with it! Had a wheelchair but this gives me freedom to walk too it i can! And much smaller so no car issues...
Great review.. Thanks. I picked up a second hand Dolomite Legacy 600 today, the kind my mom had. I like the Hugo wheelchair function. Innovation is great.
Except my walker doesn’t convert to a wheelchair this is almost identical to my walker. It receives many admiring glances and comments from others. I’d count the foot-operated lift as a major feature, rather than minor. It’s a rare walk around the city that doesn’t involve its use! The brake adjust is also worth its weight in gold. Not only do cables stretch, the wheels wear quite rapidly and the brake operates on the outside of the wheel. I chose mine based on the comfort of the seat as I need to rest frequently. Its purchase was to say the least, liberating! Well worth the cost.
Wow! I would love something like this. I have been a nurse for over 33 years but it’s taken a toll on my body. I love to fish but with spinal stenosis and bad knees i have to use a walker to get to and from my fishing holes and the 4 wheel walker I currently use is just barely fitting the bill. I once saw someone using a fantastic walker called trionic veloped .. made in Europe for people who want to try to enjoy the outdoors but have issues with walking. It’s pretty expensive and I don’t know if they have models with seats. Anyway, thanks for the wonderful demo. I’m going to check this out.
My own hugo rollator/transport chair is coming soon in the mail! I have dysautonomia/PoTS, so chronic fatigue often gets in the way of me exploring. My balance isn't the best, and I can't stand for too long without becoming symptomatic. I'm excited to use this along with my cane and physiotherapist! I'm hoping that this gadget will aid me in being able to go outside for longer periods (longer than an hour).
This is the greatest that was made i am 82. I had been riding my Trek mountain bike until my arthritis toke over. My knees are giving up on me and this roller is fantastic. One of the man tenets in our apartment building was giving by his son. Russell didnt like it and got anther smaller. He sold me a red one large i call my Humve. It is great . Thank you for your design.
The only improvement I could possibly see for this unit would be if it was an upright. Thanks so much for the details on how to get one. On your other video you praised the Invacare Unknown Model and I've been searching in vain for one for many days. I will probably get the Hugo Navigator thanks to the two most famous physical therapists on the internet, IN MY OPINION. It is expensive but in the long run I know I'll consider it a bargain.
I have one of these (different brand) That I got from Amazon. I can walk short distances independently. My helper can wheel me to a location then I use the rollator to get around by myself. One problem, I can lift my other portable rollator (took off the backrest and storage bag, fold it up and store it in the back seat of my car. About 15 lbs. Use it when I'm alone), but the rollator/transport chair is too heavy for me to put in the trunk by myself (about 40 lbs)
Lili Marlene a Walter will be lighter. A transport chair is more durable for its intended use. These are 2 different things and serve 2 different purposes.
I am having similar walker.I am left side paralyzed can walk with wright hand gripped but left hand does not grip properly walking is difficult gripping both hands.can you please suggest what is to be done. From Antony.
My dad is 6'1' does it fit with his height? We have trouble with some of these due to his height? Or could you do a video on some mobility products for tall people?
I got a Hugo Navigator and a front wheel began wobbling. The company said the bearings need replacing and to get new ones costs money if they have them in stock. Many reviews have said they could not get replacement parts. Maybe a different manufacturer has a longer lasting product with reasonably price parts in stock.....
6 foot 6 inches may work fine when you are sitting, but what about the fact that you have to bend/lean forward when walking behind the transport chair. Husband is 6 foot 4 inches and I can see that as a serious problem for his back.
What situations would this be best for? Thinking of getting something similar for my husband with CP. We only have a wheelchair currently and doesn’t use anything indoors just furniture or walks on his knees but once he gets new AFOs I’d like something to help him walk but also for sitting such as at the kitchen table for meal prepping and outings like grocery shopping etc. What is it like as a wheelchair? Is it comfortable for long periods or not really?
When you bent over it lifted in the back , so I’m wondering if it being light weight and wheels look thin would it be easier to tip over like I saw it almost did with you bending over
What is the width of this Duet (left to right). I want to make sure it clears a doorway, especially smaller bathroom doors. Looking for one for a loved one and want to make sure she can navigate the all the rooms. Thank you... Philip
I've been subscribed to your channel for a couple years now. I was attracted to the manner you provide proper techniques in caring for your body. I also enjoy the camaraderie the both of you have together, and in the way your enjoyable personalities shines through on video communicating it to your audience. Job well done. I've been researching Rollator/Transit chairs for several years now. I need one of these type walkers desperately. My insurance is willing to cover the standard walker, a transit chair or a wheelchair. However it's not practical for me to have the multiple devices, or possible to bring them all on trips outside the home. As someone who doesn't have my own vehicle, even when I did, there wasn't enough space in the vehicle for both devices. Additionally, I don't know at what point I need to stop walking and need to begin sitting, having someone push me. I came across this Hugo Rollator Transit walker several years ago. The cost I saw for it was around $600-700. I really appreciate your in depth review and promotion of this specific one. My only question regarding it, how comfortable is it when being used as a transit chair? On the occasions of attending a convention, or all day outing requiring a lot of walking, I would need to ride in it for multiple hours. I'm concerned with how comfortable it is to sit in for an extended period of several hours. I recognize the unlikeliness of either of you testing this factor out on the device. Whoever you ended up gifting it to, perhaps would be able to answer the question, & you could relay their opinion. Thanks again for this videos and all the others you make too.
Is there a way to use the sitting walker to work in the kitchen. I cannot seem to maneuver in the kitchen. I am talking about maneuvering by myself. It feels like all 4 wheels need to swivel.
How much weight will it carry you guys? Also how does it do in snow? I liked that the wheels are bigger but does it have any kind of a grip on the wheels any kind of tread on the wheels? I live in Denver and this is important my driveway is partially in shade and I get ice out there too...
Im glad i found this because now more explained about it an nead some prices an nead a sutible one where to get one near big shopping centers or where live near Noarlunga
Yes, I like this walker, however I am skeptical regarding itss use I would need it for. Getting the walker out and over my front threshold of my home would be difficult because it would need brakes on the front wheels and back wheels. The threshold in the front of my home is literally a 4 inch high stone step.
Curious. Looking for a bariatric walking aid. I need to be seated and I want my legs to propel me forward. I have strong legs but my hips don’t like walking. I want it to be flexible to travel. Please help with a suggestion.
Can this be purchased without wires on outside? In small spaces can catch & snag on things, which are problematic with my walker I just disposed of. Plan to purchase an upright with wiring enclosed in Jan. Have hereditary neuropathy balance, neck & back issues. BTW I am a WI/MN native & so do miss my Midwestern roots
It seems great except the “handle bars” need to be taller to prevent the hunching over for use as a walker by very tall people. I need one for a man 6’5” who can not bend his knee on 1 of his legs. He needs a stand up walker.
The handles are adjustable. It has holes about every inch and you just push in a button and raise them to the desired height. It is on each handle just like the other rolling walkers. 😀
We are very interested in purchasing one for our mother. No one is responding to our order request. Its been four weeks! Unfortunately, I guess we have to start looking elsewhere...
This walker/wheelchair is light years ahead of the others! Thanks for sharing. My only suggestion is not regarding the product, but your Car! Before your next demo, Please get it Washed!🤣
Hi! What exactly are the wheels made of please? Can these wheels handle grass, packed dirt, and gravel, concrete, and other outdoor areas like rubber wheels can? Thanks!
