'GOLDEN YEARS TRAVELING' - Hi and a Blessed Sunday to all the Family and Fur Babies. Just wanted to give a shout-out and tell you, Charity & Ben, that this video is a SUPER VIDEO. Because Diana and I are both disabled, we can not travel full time. So I watch a lot of RV videos and have never seen so many useful, practical, and money-saving tips and hacks in one video. The video is well edited and shows so much detail about the 21 items talked about. Job well done you two and Charity your voice is perfect for these videos you produce.
I live in a small 1bedroom apartment. I regularly use your tips saving space!. Just because it doesn't move, doesn't mean I don't need those small helpful hints!!
An easy way to make non slip hangers is to run a bead of hot glue along the top edge of the hanger. I also use a glob under the 4 corners of a cooling rack to make it non slip over the sink.
I use a over the door shoe organizer on the inside of the bathroom door to put shoes and extra bathroom things items in to free up cabinet space and keep the floors clutter free
Wow! We've been shopping for a year, and finally found our RV. I've been watching videos this whole year about ideas and hacks etc. This was one of the BEST "hack" videos I've seen in a while! Such ingenious simple solutions and great ideas many don't think about! And your delivery is to the point and well delivered. I hit subscribe! Thanks for sharing! On my way to Dollar Tree! LOL!
If the kids keep throwing the towel on the floor or in he sink, make them in garage of the laundry next time. They will appreciate hanging the towel pretty quickly
I've been using Turkish towels for a few years now and I order mine directly from Turkey via Etsy. They run deals and have discounts so when I'm looking for gifts it's one of the things I consider.
Good hacks! I've been in my motorhome since 2006, I've already been using most of these hacks, but never thought to use that thing to wash dishes with in my shower. That's a great idea! I threw one away today because I did not like washing dishes with it. But for the shower? Score!
Great hacks! I will also add that I bought the Emeril Lagasse instant pot / air fryer duo. It would save space on an extra machine. It just has a separate lid for the air fryer. I love mine! I feel like I have seen people put a ribbon of hot glue on the edge of a hanger to keep clothes in place as well. I haven't tried it, but it makes sense!
Hi always look forward to you sharing tips and info. Totally agree with Instant Pot and Air Fryer! Here is one change we made. Get the Air Fry Lid for the Instant Pot. IT IS GREAT!! Takes up half or less space of a full air fryer.
Love your hacks! The only one we previously implemented was crib sheets on the dinette to protect from dogs and kids/everybody. I’m planning to implement a few more. Thank you!
As I said a live in a super small apartment. To solve the problem of pets and furniture I bought clear plastic tablecloths. Yes a blast from grandma 's past. After 2 yrs I changed them and the furniture is as good as brand new. Grandma knew something
Great Tips!! I love love the idea of nixing the stove unit and replace it with shelves and a cook top (or hot plate). We have a very small kitchen (with little storage). and just two people. I've tried to convince my husband that we don't need the stove if we have the Ninja unit, and we'd get more storage / counter space. Wish me luck. Thanks for all the tips!!
Can't find it but recall one of yours about putting ice cubes in plastic bags. I have a A Frame pop up with a Small freezer and go off grid for a couple of days at a time and like my Adult Bevs by the fire in the evening. A cold chest only keeps ice cold for a day or so and hated having to go to the nearest store to buy another bag every other day or so. I now buy a 7 pound bag, disperse the cubes into Quart ZipLocks and can have my evening coktails for a week or more without having to go to town. Thank You, Thank You, Th...etc. CHEERS !
I am a 67 year old woman who plans to travel some around the country. I have a 4 cyl engine so I am limited to 1500 GVW. I am looking at the Road Toad Tote that can be set up for camping or to haul cargo such as when moving. My main plan is to set it up with a full size bed and use plastic drawers and totes to carry just what I need and NO boondocking at all. I plan to carry a camp toilet only for emergencies because I want to be able to park near the bath house most of the time. Basically, once it is dark my dog (a Chihuahua who is also my service dog) and I will stay inside. My question (not at all related to this particular video) is safety tips for older women traveling alone. I am choosing this trailer because it is light easy to set up as I have a lot of arthritis and all I will need is shore power for lights, a very small but excellent space heater, fan, charging my phone and laptop and a couple of personal sized cooking utensils such as the My Mini cooker. What is the safest place for me to stay in a campground or RV park considering that I need the bath house. The cassette toilet is so that if I need the toilet, I won't need to leave the camper until daylight.
And ... if you turn the lid around with it's handle inside the pan, you will have more room. If you just squeegee then dry your shower, you basically never have to 'clean' it. Maybe the bottom but no soap scum on the walls. Place a shower rod at the back of the shower to hang the wet shower drying towel on. Been doing that for many many years.
The shower/sink drains are a must-have regardless of whether in an RV or house. After you clean them one time, you will see just how much hair & fuzz has been going down your drain and potentially clogging them after time.
Excellent tips. I am not an rv-er, but have a horse trailer I want to stay in overnight here and there. I love that you are sharing your experiences and tips.
Another great helper - folding board -it is easy, peezy , lemon squeezy and all cloths folded as on display in the store -Flat -which mean space ,plus roll up socks as they do in military, great space savior and for things like jackets and other big things roll up storage bags -WalMart ,Amazon,AliExpress, those extras or not used stuff became flat as vacuumed bags, I absolutely love your hack about gas range and smart appliances ,plus we love our foldable gas grill from Camping world ,but now ,Amazon, and Walmart had them too .with class A its easy to store in the basement and gas tanks - very compact. Command and pill and stick - few of the best things !
Charity, Thank you so much for the great tips and hacks. I loved your soft side basket container hack and I didn’t want to spend $10 on each factory made basket so, I purchased dish drying mats (2 for $7.00) and sewed, instead of glued, the seams. They stand up well with the heavier fabric, now I have 2 for $7.00. I also had heavy fabric placemats, unused, sewed 2 together to make one larger basket. I laughed when you talked about the felt like hangers. I use them and love them and my husband dislikes them for the same reason as your husband, so plastic for him as well. Happy travels!
#1-put up a paper towel holder #2-great idea. We’ve used it! #5-great idea. Have to try that #6-/can’t beat those 2 appliances #10-Soft Start reduces the initial spike of power you get when you turn on your AC. A huge battery power drain. Also allows you to run your AC off of solar (and lithium) #15-love the rope baskets #-16 handy idea for water bottles #-18 pipe cleaner idea is great #-19 would work great in your home as well #-21 we used both those items ourselves. Amazon sells them in multi paks. I think you can get a 1/2 doz at a time. Saves time if you aren’t near a store that carries them!
WOW, everyone of those ideas I could see me using but like the cameraman I like for my shirts to slide right off the hanger. I never leave the hanger , when I take my garments down I put all my empty hangers in one place . So when I do laundry I just reach for all the hangers at once. Thank you both for all the ideas , they will be used.
Go a little further on a hack - with your Instapot, you can get an Airfryer attachment with it. I do all of my base cooking with the Instapot and then if I want it crispy I put on the airfryer top. Check it out, less storage space.
I just started following you and so grateful that you mentioned Softstart RV as we often backyard camp with family and to be able to use the house outlet to run out AC is game changing.
Just came across your channel in the last two weeks and I've been enjoying your videos. I especially liked this one as we have only had our Class C for three years now. We've been having a blast and really getting good at setting up super quickly and take down is now down to a science. We are not full timers; actually we've been much more active this past summer because we get week long trips in now. One month we get to go for 1 week and then the next month for 2 weeks, then back to 1 week and so on. It revolves around our daughter-in-laws work schedule, but its working and when we only get the 1 week, we do manage to get in three or four days here and there in the month as well. You gave some awesome hacks that I've written down and plan to work on. Thank you SO MUCH for those 21 hacks/tricks. All the best to you and your family. Be safe and ENJOY!
When we were driving a freightliner we used a crockpot with bungy ford. We cooked dinner for 8 hours. It made the best baked potatoes. Throw the bag away and no cleanup
Save the dehumidifier water to clean stuffed animals or other things that can't be normally washed easily. My partner did that for one of my stuffed animals and it didn't require any scrubbing.
I often wish there's were a better tool/gadget/ solution to practical problems! Thank you for the tip of the Turkish towels. They're not much known in Ireland. G Ire
Been watching your videos for a while now and just love all your tips and tricks videos that show us great ideas and how to be more organized and minimalistic... You're such a beautiful person inside and out it's a pleasure to watch your videos and see how the adventures that your family is going on!!!
Interested in the closet rack with shower caddies and cooling racks. Couldnt figure out quite how you made it. Any chance you could do a video on this?
I do have a short video on how to make on our TikTok, I will add to our list of things to add to RU-vid vids as well. Thanks for watching www.tiktok.com/t/ZTd78BS5a/?k=1
Just discovered you! WOW! What a find! You're amazing! I have one for you for earrings....I have waaay too many. Bought a cooling rack from Wally World - the kind with little "feet" on the bottom. Screwed it onto the wall in my bedroom. Hung my dozens of earrings so I can see them all and they haven't moved in thousands of miles of travel. Easy to take them off for wearing and hang back up. Kinda cute, too.
Love the hacks. What kind of cleaner do you use in you're shower with the sponge brush. Going to implement several of these hacks. Starting in Aug 2022 we are going to live full time in our RV. Keep the ideas coming.
Just found your website OMG your website is phenomenal thank you so much for all of the information I have watched several of your videos now I greatly appreciate all the information thank you
Love all of your suggestions. Beautiful rig. I noticed you have the four fan model on the fins in the fridge. I have a two fan but still get some icing. Does your model do a better job of keeping it from icing? Thanks so much.
Hello beautiful lady. Love your videos and tips. I say this with love and having made the same mistake with my makeup. It's putting eyeliner and mascara on your lower lashes and lash line. Trust me when I say it makes a world of difference to tight line the top lashes only. There are some great RU-vid videos that show you how to do so. My eyes look wider, younger and much more natural.
@@freedakaye6720, it's a shame you see a negative in my post and not that I'm trying to help her as she has me. If I didn't care, I wouldn't say anything. I'm not one of those friends who tells her girlfriends what they want to hear, but am honest and loving. She didn't take offense and I'm not sure why you do. If I took your stance I could say to YOUR comment that your response was wildly inappropriate since I replied to her in a nice way and I didn't ask for your opinion...sounds ugly doesn't it? No need to respond because I have blocked your comments anticipating a wildly inappropriate response from you.
My husband and I have just moved into our RV for retirement after leaving our large three bedroom home, I will definitely be implementing most of the hacks you displayed Tks so much I need all the help I can get,our cat and cockatiel are also with us.🥰
Great hacks, I’m curious why don’t you get a ninja air fryer which does the job of an instant pot & a air fryer. Especially the new one with just one single lid.
