its not that they're bad, you just need to get the reference, which is almost impossible as evidenced by the spy almost never winning

Jose Lazo Basically they play the game however they feel like it instead of how it was designed. That's perfectly fine, but it does sort of turn the strategies on their heads and makes it so that the spy doesn't have a very good chance of winning. How the game was intended: Act like your role, answer questions like it would. (A bank clerk would answer "how many different people do you see" differently than a manager, for instance.) The spy tries to BS answers that would fit into what's being given by the other players. How Node plays: Roles? What roles? Everyone is a spy! Talk in code and don't answer ANYTHING!

Definitely banter. They'd usually say "Thanks to the guys at..." or "This week's episode brought to you by..." if it was true advertisement.

Pretty much as you said. the spy doesn't know the location while the rest do. The goal of the spy is to figure out the location, while the others to figure out who is the spy. This is done by asking each other questions related to the location but try to be vague enough that would let your none-spy friends know, and confuse the spy.. There is a time limit of 8 minutes or so. Spy wins if they fail to guess the spy or spy figure out location.

Alfonso J. Ramos The explained it once and never again. Basically, one spy has to blend in by giving solid answers while trying to deduce the location. Most questions are in an attempt to find out a bit about the location or determine whether or not the person being asked knows what the location is (confirming their innocence). The game ends when all players unanimously vote against a player as the spy (the spy wins if he successfully tricks them into voting incorrectly) or the spy takes a guess at the location (they win if they are correct).

And, of course, everyone but the spy is given a location and job
