Super gemacht Thoralf!! We want more of these movies / examples. I have also the Montage M7. I use the video to make new sounds on the Montage. I did not buy the Genos 2 because i have the Montage but the combination is great!

This is what many people is missing when they comment on the old standard FM engine they put in the Genos. Yes the DX7 sound was always thin and boring alone and without effects. But you have an insert effect for every keyboard part and song / Styletrack of the Genos 2, and the 80's sound was often based on several synth sounds often in mono stacked together with effects when recorded to make those sounds. They sounded bland alone but stacking 3-4 or more sounds together was very common back in the days. So just those standard factory presets from the DX7 is all what is needed to make those big LA sounds. The power of the FM engine in the G2 equals 8 TX802 as you have up to 4x Unison on each, just for the keyboard parts that is 4x4=16 standard DX7. So it's 16 x DX7 but with 128 notes polyphony instead actually 16 DX7 would be 256 notes. but will propably do for 10 fingers 😄
This is obviously not true. Because this is not the same engine as the Montage. The Montage has the TX802 E.Piano patches which are 8 channels stacked together panned and pitched, amazingi sound. But these sounds are not on the Genos 2. Why? Because it has an FM engine, but a crippled one unlike the Montage (even the 2015 Montage).
@@Leo_prado the FM engine in the Genos is a standard DX7 engine but with 128 notes polyphony. The Montage is FMX which is a more advanced FMengine. Only disadvantage with the Genos 2 is its just a "preset" device. Hopefully Yamaha will make an update to the YEM to load Sysex files in. And no you don't have have the different patches that made up those 8 part TX816 E.Piano sounds sounds. Afaik those have never been released "officially", but each FM sound in the Genos can be set to Normal, Unison 1,2,4 and there is a spread and detune on it so every sound can be a 4 part sound. thats Left, Right1,2,3 = 16 parts.
Ich hab eben den Genos 2 bekommen. Danke für deinen genialen Vorschlag für den Chicago Sound. Eine Frage: Bei mir hört man ab dem Splitpunkt links nur den Subbass, nicht aber zugleich auch R1+R2+R3 über die ganze Tastatur, obwohl ich alle Einstellungen laut deinem Vorschlag(Displayfoto) gemacht habe. Was mache ich falsch?
RU-vid bietet auch an, den englischen Text in deutsche Untertitel "on the fly" zu übersetzen ;) - Das funktioniert zwar nicht immer so astrein, hilft aber, den Inhalt in seiner Landessprache zu erfassen.
