I play both Honkai and Genshin and honestly Honkai is just more exciting to play for me, but I can see why people like Genshin. The combat, the animations, the in-game events and the story for Honkai are all very good.
yeah , honkai more on competitive side that not ppl like it , genshin is more casual . Do you even remember that ppl in genshin whining about having struggle killing spectre and magu kekw
@@narwhal9545 eh? I fight spectre but mostly because its annoying, they goes above water Openworld with flying mobs do be giving hard times God i wish they add anti-evasion enemies here Like Nihilius, i just want everyone suffer equally
Same bro. I've been playing GI since launch and started Honkai a lot later. At the beginning Honkai feels boring af to be honest. Somehow it slowly becomes much better and now Honkai is my #1 priority 😁
I'm pretty sure Genshin got super popular that fast because it came out at the height of the Breath of the Wild open world craze, and everyone was looking for more of that.
I could see that being a big factor, Breath of the Wild came out in 2017 a couple years before Genshin. I think most hype for the game had died down by the time Genshin came out. But at the E3 convention a few months before Genshin released Nintendo announced they were working on a sequel to Breath of the Wild. So that probably renewed the interest, and Genshin filled the gap in Open World fantasy adventures. Plus Genshin had PC, Playstation, and Mobile support, so that had a wider audience than Zelda or Honkai.
@@TheCsel basically in a nutshell. People were genuinely curious about genshin wondering if the knockoff is as good or of it was shit it'll be the laughing stock of the internet. It has problems but it aint too bad to be mocked around. Although it being too similar to botw especially the combat will be the death of it. Too boring and slow a lot of pgr and hi3 players didnt quite got the hype for it. And maybe soon in terms of gameplay with the release of wuthering waves they may lose more players.
Also, there were like NO games to play back then. Genshin literally got incredibly lucky with its timing (or it could of just been mihoyo calculating the release date, though they have put out that they didn't expect the blow up at all), and I mean that's good and all but it also lead to Mihoyo kind of slightly giving up on it for the most part cause they didn't really want that blow up lol
@@alvarofigueiredo6450 it could be that, but they could also make part 2 about APHO, or a completely new story, they could go anywhere with it and that is why I'm excited about it.
@@luisbenjamin8145 APHO 3 BABY HERE WE GOOOOOO!!!!, we getting Theresa as our next playable characters and even get more playables and more support rather than just lilye
@@alvarofigueiredo6450 It honestly might, ever since FR captainverse events have gotten closer and closer to the main story, while the main story was inching towards the imaginary tree and interdimensional interferences.
On the JP VAs, Mihoyo uses a lot of them from Honkai in Genshin, Kiana’s VA does the Unknown Goddess ,Rie Tanaka(who just celebrated her 44th birthday) does Lisa, Mei’s VA, Miyuki Sawashiro, does Raiden Shogun, and the VA for a character who you heard slightly in Final Lesson, Yukari Tamura, does Nahida. There are others but you haven’t heard them yet
@@jaredjosephsongheng372 I might spell it wrong, but you know who I mentioned, right? I play Chinese version so I'm not sure my spelling correct or not.
This is why I find it absurd when people saw La Signora died they flipped their shit. Or that they say that Mihoyo will not make villain characters playable without first turning them into "good guys". Himeko is a playable character. She died in the story. But you can still play as her nonetheless. Heck, Himeko's character and her sacrifice is so memorable, her song kept being played in both Honkai's Concerts too. Hersherr of the Void was a villain in Honkai. When she debuted, she was introduced as a playable character, and her whole deal was unchanged at all - that she's the "evil Kiana" that resides inside Kiana and wanted to destroy the world for vengeance. Edit: About guns in Genshin... actually they exist. We do see Fatui riflemen. So, it's not entirely farfetched for Mihoyo to give us playable gun wielders. I keep asking them to add in some in surveys and I keep hoping every patch. Lol Edit 2: Yes, same song for every dub. You can actually find the songs on Honkai 3rd's channel here on RU-vid. I listen to them whenever I work out or on a commute to work. Edit 3: It's difficult to find out why Honkai doesn't have the same reach as Genshin. I have my theories though. For one, Honkai doesn't have English dubs. It has English subs and localized U.I. Just not English dubs. This turned quite many people off because it appears that many English speakers don't enjoy reading. Secondly, the marketing was just not as controversial. It's really sending out a bad message tho, because the message is basically "you need to make people hate the game before it comes out" to the marketing team. Mihoyo has always openly admitted that they draw inspirations of their games from other games - Evangelion and Bayonetta for Honkai, Zelda: Breath of the Wild for Genshin. But people focus more on the idea that they plagiarized stuffs, without understanding the difference between plagiarism and root of inspiration. But the controversy hyped Genshin up to the peak, and voila, international reach. Again, this speaks very badly of international audience because it basically says that we love pointless drama in the marketing instead of the actual good content.
i feel like when it comes to genshin mihoyo really wont make villain chars playable, unless they get redeemed. Idk how to explain it, but whenever you have a genshin char in your team they act as if they were truly by the travelers side, meanwhile in honkai they dont really bother with that. You mostly choose strong chars to beat the toughest content. Honkai also has a story that mainly focuses on kiana and her friends and we're used to ''leaving chars behind'' (cuz they either die or just dont show up again), but in genshin they always have to come back for some event or something. Even when they rerun they usually have a quest related to them, honkai just continues with the main story without any of that (which isnt bad, dont get me wrong). In honkai i dont mind if an evil char becomes playable because i dont feel like thats the point of the game, they mostly give you trial chars for the quests anyway. But in genshin it wouldnt really make sense since the evil char would technically be a part of your team and would need to have some positive interaction with the traveler and some other chars in their voice lines, they also wouldnt be able to do some positive events related to their reruns because they would be an evil character and they would have to come up with some dramatic story unrelated to the archon quests just for a rerun. I probably didnt explain it too well, its like i have all the thoughts in my head but i cant put them into words.
Yes, Fatui Skirmisher type enemies using guns. They are soldiers encased within a Fatui war machine. Elemental guns. Example : Pyroslinger Bracer is Fire elemental gunmen, Hydrogunner Legionnaire is water elemental gunmen. But, unlike the elite Mages and Agents, Fatui Skirmishers are soldiers of lesser individual might. p.s : I hope they add gunmen characters soon (Mihoyo teams, please ww)
I also think it's important to remember the limits of technology when Honkai was first released. Keep in mind that it was exclusively a mobile game for the first couple years when most phones had maybe 32GB of storage at most? When I first started playing Honkai in 2019 I straight up had to stop playing because I didn't have enough storage space. Granted the storage issue was fixed with Honkai's PC release, but by that point Genshin was already making waves (for reasons already mentioned, the Open World craze, all that stuff), not to mention that it was already cross platform for both mobile and consoles from the start. Simultaneously, tech has advanced now to the point where phones all have like 128GB of storage MINIMUM. And since Genshin is clearly HoyoVerse's cash cow, of course their gonna milk it.
As a veteran of both games the only thing genshin does better is the open world, everything else from chracter development to story to combat to mini games and events, honkai is miles ahead, after playing honkai i was shocked that genshin was the newer game but i have faith that genshin will improve too slowly, besides it's never too late to get into honkai, the game will reach conclude it's part 1 this year, it's only at it's halfway point as mihoyo have already confirmed the story will go on for maybe 6 more years
I mean as long as genshin is pulling out sacks of cash for doing sub par content it will never change especially when people sing praises for it... Meanwhile Honkai had is up's and way downs so it really had to deliver to keep itself afloat...
If you want to understand the story, officially there are videos called chronicles of..., at the momento there are 4 or 5, they last about 10 minutes, I recommend that you react to them if you wish.
@@AryaHime They give him a lot of merit for what he did. His hypocrisy is one of the key points of the chronicles. The actual problem with chronicles: otto apocalypse is that it is fairly vague about important events in his backstory, which lead blind watchers to think he did some things that he didn’t do
The JP cast is more well known but do try the CN cast as well. They're the original cast, the mouth movements are mapped to CN, not JP since JP is a foreign dub for miHoYo games, and miHoYo really helped establish the CN voice acting community by pulling together a lot of excellent, previously unknown talent. They deserve recognition too! Especially Hanser, Bronya's CN VA. She's amazing. As for why Genshin is more popular, Genshin is on consoles, launched with a PC option (Honkai didn't get a native PC client for years) and was never stigmatized as "just a waifu game" by people who didn't know any better. Plus miHoYo have had years to get better at marketing and hype, and had a lot more money to push Genshin than they did when Honkai was brand new. miHoYo actually pioneered methods of making fast paced 3D games run perfectly on mobile phones back when Honkai was under development. It was a major achievement when it was brand new.
Also people calling Genshin a Breth of the Wild clone (and losing their minds over it) when it was announced was the best unintentional marketing. I also think Honkai is treated as "for us" property by the founders so if you're in their age range and like Evangelion + sci fi it's just pure target. I whole heartedly think you don't have to be any of those because the strength of the wrtiting but there's just too many coincidences of "the things I like as a middle aged nerd" being in this game.
Ngl I trying CN in game voice line but it just not in line with the character they portrait except for some, like Yatta, Bronya and Aponia. Kiana for example her first chapter voice is not childish enough and more mature unlike the JP where you can hear Kiana evolution?/progress, from childish to mature personality.
Not really the studio that makes the cutscenes are actually old jp guys that were outsourced before they created their in house studio now its a mix of old outsource and in house guys think of them as seniors. They both create slightly different cutscenes for jp and cn. Mouth movement different directors as well hence why some emote of the actresses are different as well.
Tbh Japanese don't care about lipsyncing most of the time so mouth movements don't match in a lot of anime anyway. Caring so much about lipsyncing is mostly the english dub thing.
Honkai’s story is really good and fairly emotional, but it gets a little… how do i put it… Scientific. The latest few chapters are just whole novels of quantum physics explanations and lore exposition, to the point that it can break your mind. I love science and magic systems but like the minute they started talking about imaginary singularities and energy crystallization I sorta short circuited.
Why tell that to a beginner though? That is something that happened after a lot of time. I understand it can be somewhat tiring in recent chapters, but there is hours and hours of plot, characters, twists and turns before that, much, much more than the last three chapters can amount to. And to be completely honest, I think people have been exaggerating a lot about how much of a big deal this is recently. Chapter 33 for example had more character moments and drama rather then pseudo-scientific mumbo jumbo.
Well, besides the story of honkai, kiana's VA really made me love honkai MORE because I recognized kagura immediately♥️! , and I really have a soft spot for our beloved china girl. Then I got into honkai more and realized thats kagura and kiana doesn't just share the same VA, but they have a lot of similarities character wise.. And if you interested, there's a lot of common VAs between genshin and honkai and one of them is himeko and lisa!, I will let you discover the rest while you watch the 2nd part I just KNOW that you will notice😮💨
You ask why you care for these characters you hardly even know. That's a huge part of what makes the writing in _HI3_ so good: while the writing in things like _Genshin_ have a wider scale, _HI3_ is more personal. We spend time with Kiana, Mei, Bronya, Fu Hua, and Bianka. We come to learn about their pasts, who they are. We walk with them as they journey and grow. We stand with them for their trials and tribulations. We know their deepest darkness, and their greatest heights. Yes, the stakes are still world-scale, but we know the people involved, and we know them deeply. More impressive, we will spend a number of chapters with _simulations_ of people, most of whom died 50,000 years before the start of the story. And we will come to care for each of them. I challenge you _not_ to fall in love with Elysia by the end. If it helps in that challenge, the other sims tell you not to trust her. Who'm I kidding, we all fell for her anyway.
1:25 Just wanted to let you know there are already 3 Honkai anime completed and a new series has been announced not long ago. They are mostly sidestory/memes about the game but they do exist. The issue is the anime isn't an adaptation of the mangas and doesn't talk about the main story which is why some players are a bit annoyed about it.
Yeah, I'm a bit MUCH annoyed by it. All the money used for those Anime and these Animations feel wasted. I want to believe they're gonna release a Anime when the game is about to end (2026).
Maybe once part 1 story is completed they'll make an anime for the complete part 1, because this will be the end of kiana's story. It's just wishful thinking on my part tho
I am a huge fan of Honkai, (and I am well versed in lore) although I started playing Genshin first. I was very hooked on the plot, which is much more emotional and elaborated compared to genshin. I often cried on animations, and often even just on text in levels. I will also say that the plot itself is in dialogues, chapters go for 4 hours and animations alone do not allow you to feel almost anything. I play both genshin and honkai now, but honkai immediately became my favorite game in LIFE, I tell everyone about it, I only talk about it and so on. Well, the gameplay of honkai has many disadvantages, but on the other hand, gacha is not so important to me, the plot is much more important.
Interesting fact: so many Genshin theories say that Bronya will probably be the Tsaritsa (her adult form, wich is also in Honkai APHO), Seele or Durandal the Hydro Archon, and Himeko the Pyro Archon since the Murata name its related to her as well. This due to the fact that most os the Archons revealed till now are Honkai characters (specially Raiden Shogun, Raiden Mei, and Kusanali, Theresa APocalypse).
Himeko jp VA is the same for genshin impact Lisa, thats probably why you recognize her voice. I stop playing because not enough time to play game anymore, but I watched lore videos to understand the story.
I actually rewatch each all honkai animation, trailer, music etc. like 50 times xd, but even tough have moved to genshin, but honkai's content and story is still, the best❤🔥
You don't have to worry about copyright though. It's okay to play the vid in high volume. HoYoVerse won't copyright strike whoever react to their videos. To them that's how they attract players by letting people react to it and also react with RU-vidrs (like attracting them into playing the game)
Honkai actually does have a lot of minigames. like we had plant vs zombies event, pokemon event, fall guys event and some other game modes reffering to other titles
47:06 Kiana Said : 姫子先生、分かった、この完璧じゃない世界を、私の望みどおりに変えてみせる (Himeko Sensei, Wakatta, Kono kanpeki janai sekai o, watashi no nozomi-dōri ni kaete miseru) ”Himeko Sensei, I understand, I'll change this imperfect world the way I want it。” P.S : the subtitles on the that Diane's Sojourn video somehow bugged ww^^, so i hope that helped。✨🦊⛩
I have heard a few Honkai songs in compilations and was pretty amazed, then even more amazed when I looked at the video description and saw that it was a Honkai piece. I almost want to play it just for the music, and that is one reason I keep playing Genshin
I really hope you enjoyed honkai, and will play it too. Story is really good, but rewards only ones who read all the dialogues, which is sometimes difficult. But it still costs it. Waiting for second part
41:45 Honkai cutscene are not far from the current Genshin cutscene in terms of sadness. But if you know the context, things change. maybe some of the cutscenes that you think are the coolest, epic or cinematic, could be the saddest cutscenes in the eyes of honkai players. Anyways! Both games are cool, Genshin and Honkai have their own unique story so yeah.. Can't wait for part 2 🔥
The difference is that we are attached to the Honkai characters while Genshin doesn't allow you to get attached. After a few story quests they are forgotten and never appear in the story again, just look at poor Hu Tao. People used to love her, then she never appeared in the story or any event and the adoration eventually dried out, same with Eula, Shenhe and let's not mention the 4* characters..
I have two reasons _HI3_ is not as popular as _Genshin_ : There is no EN dub, and because of the reputation of Chinese mobile games before it. But let me tell you, Mihoyo redefined what mobile games are. The funding and technology for _HI3_ is also directly responsible for _Genshin_ . I play both via PC port, but I use a controller for _HI3_ .
It's great to see you react to some Honkai Cinematics and maybe there could be a chance to see you playing Honkai one day so you can get the full experience of the game, lore and story as you go on among the chapters and mangas (it's a rollercoaster). I don't know if you have room for one more game, I'd like to recommend you Punishing: Gray Raven and give it a chance to try it off-stream or to react its PV's for game's patches or check the animations from PGR.
oh nice, i need more of you reacting this. is amazing see you try to get some part of the story only for the animation hahaha. and the next videos are better so i really waiting for them. sorry my english is a little bad. PD: you were caught by the charm of the first kaslana and you only saw it 5 seconds at the end of a video. haha, it will be one of your favorites when you know its history.
PD2: Bronya of cyber angel video. this bronya with the blue robot that transforms into a motorcycle, in the game, you can play her in the same way, with her ultimate, she transforms the robot into a motorcycle, and you see the animation of her colliding with the enemy, similar to the video, and then you have about 20 or 30 seconds in which you can run the bike, while summoning cannons, which shoot the enemy, and you can hit him with the bike as well. hahahah.
I been playing both games for a whole 2 years now it I can say honkia story is better the characters have more emotions to them more built unlike in genshin where we met them and never really talk to them (besides in events)and the actual story OMG there’s so much feeling to it and so much unknown but in genshin we already what we do we go to a new area help that archon with there issues and move to the nexts one no actual story end story build up ofc we met and see some characters history but I mean actual end story like what’s going on with the traveler sibling.I will end it there because I can go on and on with both games I will tell u this get a lot and I mean lots of tissues 😭
ru-vid.com/group/PLgIHhyp1ORipVXYBD87ti7kydMeGiBsLk In this playlist it explains what happend in the story that cutscenes you watched (but ofc you know spoilers but cinematics are full of spoilers too so no problem i guess and all of these are japanese and ordered . You can skip story explainations if you want named Honkai Operation Center videos etc. ;) )
Heeey you finally made it over, this game’s story will make you feel things that no other game can, hope to see your play through soon, the friend who introduced you to Honkai is goated , cmon friend convince her to play too if she isn’t already convinced by the animations
realy recommend watching the honkai operation center if you like to understand whats going on ;) and yes most of the combat related stuff you see in the animated shorts is posible in game. from kiana "spread wings" (the laser beams) to the iconic snap of the void queen or bronyas bike with the guns
Cooking With Valkyries with melt your heart. Highly recommended. Honkai Chronicles too. As a Honkai veteran, these cinematics still hits me hard. Not really into Genshin, even though the game is good and have ayer it for 3 months but Honkai has me by the balls. That's why I'm still playing it for 3 years
I play honkai and genshin, and I can say with no doubt that honkai's lore and visuals are WAY better (imo). I think it got the short end of the stick (when compared to genshin) because it's a little too much - but that's exactly why it's popular on it's own right. you know damn well that you'll cry whenever a new animated short drops, when you play the new story, when you hear and read the soundtrack lyrics... it's just all so beautifully dramatic, honestly. after I learned about honkai genshin just seems a little bland to me tbh lol (still absolutely love and play both games tho)
To be fair, I'm pretty sure the game itself already counts as an anime in itself. They must have spent a lot of their budget for the in-game scenes, and compared to Genshin Impact apparent popularity, it was apparently enough to have an actual adaptation made just from the budget.
maybe you can say genshin made me love the story from the beginning cuz its already start from the first part but maybe i did start honkai in the bad time and didn't feel i have time to it hehehe that's why i want to give it another try one day
@@AnimaechanGames this is just my opinion, but genshin is way easier than honkai, yes you can just mash buttons in honkai impact at the start for quite a long time, but once you get to the late mid game and end game, you either need to look up guides or read huge walls of text about the skill descriptions of the characters, and trust me, there's more than 20 paragraphs to read for just one character, yeah the paragraph are not that long, but there's a lot to read and to think about. Some enemies are completely immune to elements while others require you to use a certain element to do more damage. Also, you need to mash the buttons A LOT, in genshin the bosses in the end game only need 3-4 mins or 30 seconds if your characters are very well built, you need to run around and dodge and heal and buff the other times. In honkai impact, healing, shielding, etc meaning nothing, the only thing that matters is to kill the enemy, plus the fact that they have more than 20-30 health bars makes it hard to kill them in time. And sometimes there's different phases, you finish 8 bars of an enemy and surprise, 20 more appear. Honkai bosses also have their own mechanisms at everything so you need to know those to even do something to most of them.
whatch honkai impact version trailer from "1.1"-"6.3" please 🥺. you will see gameplay of each character and it's so amazing. don't forget the music is amazing too 🥰
In case you have too many doubts about why these things happen in the videos, look for the video where they explain the entire chronological line of the game
The game loves giving emotional damage yes the red girl is playable, she is good at her job on certain mode, compared to genshin the game is very flashy in combat, main story is linear, as later chapters introduced there is manga of the game to give better understanding to lore, game is beginner friendly, only the endgame is competitive and grinding heavily is optional, the gameplay is very much pick your own pace but as some stuff have scoring or time limit, faster would be preffered. this game started in 2016 on CN server I am Sea server player from 2017. I say definitely give it a try, goodluck
i dont know if its been answered by another comment but the story is definitely NOT almost done PART 1 however is almost done. the devs have said provided people keep supporting them they have plans for 6+ years stored up still
27:50 I usually download the videos so I don't have to worry about buffering issues Your internet is prob being slow or its your internet connection being a bit poor, the video is lagging cuz its still trying to load and buffer.
Mihoyo tried open world in honkai. But originally being a mobile game they hit hardware limits. So they made genshin as a pc MMORPG. I don't think they realised how fortunate that timing was. It was one of the first old school gameplay concept MMORPG Gen-X got the experience and a massive nostalgia moment for the people from the golden mmorpg time. Aside from WOW and FF nothing comes close to the mmo's we used to have. Naturally genshin blew up. Amazing timing and well introduced by Mihoyo.
To be fair they already did a honkai anime that said its a cooking show and its quite short but they did make a honkai anime..... Also elf academy too its an honkai anime but centered around the companions you get in honkai which are the elf's.
Kiana's journey isn't about being the hero that sacrifices her/himself for the greater good but a hero that saves everyone with the help of everyone, depending on people rather than burning out yourself. She has one of the most beautiful journey in all fiction one that births hope from all the calamity. The world isn't all beautiful but she has decided to fight for everything that is beautiful and this theme has been running from the start. Almost every character shows the same sentiment of fighting for their loved ones rather than shallow reasons like ruling humanity or world destruction
The cinematics are almost all from the end of story chapters. Only Reburn, Bronya, and Winter Memories are non-canon. Reburn was to sell Kiana's Knight Moonbeam battlesuit, which then was the most powerful. Bronya was just to show her character, and Winter Memories was because of the Olympics... and so they didn't just use their skating motion capture in one place. Playing the game will give you the missing context you need to fully understand what's going on. I would also recommend watching the first Honkai Chronicles video, as well as the PVs / version trailers.
Diane’s Sojourn has a bad translation in the RU-vid video. In the game Kiana says “I will change this imperfect world into one we want” or something along those lines - it’s been awhile since I’ve been in this part of the game.
If you want to know more about the male characters in Honkai, here is a few major ones you can do a bit googling on: Kevin Kaslana Siegfried Kaslana Welt Yang
The only reason that i am still holding on to Genshin right now is because i am a Honkai player. The latter part of the Inazuma story quests almost made me drop the game, but i still held onto my faith in Mihoyo because of the fact that they made Honkai (Arguably one of the best game lore/story i have ever laid my eyes upon alongside Final Fantasy). I am getting glimpses of potential now that we are in Sumeru and i just hope that the story reaches a point that i can enjoy it as much as i am enjoying the Honkai story.
20:58 Since Himeko dead she doesnt have any new battlesuit anymore, She is already out like 5,4,3 years ago (i forgor) shes out of meta, no one use her anymore lol. And which story more better Genshin or Honkai? i prefer Honkai tbh
It's really sad that you have no time to play this game. But the story is not over yet. We are seeing just the final of the Part 1. The developers said we still have more 5 or 6 years. Please, if possible, at least try this game. There's a good chance to you to love it
Difference between Honkai and Genshin is in war building and setting. Genshin is like amazing adventure story. If Honkai was made open world game from the begining it would be much better and popular.
Mihoyo or Hoyoverse for now do not fail about the music 😁as a veteran this game called depression impact 😂and every short animated is getting better and don't forget this FREE mobile game 😆
