This is just an absolutely perfect animatic! The portrayal of Yae Miko as a crafty, cunning, secretive flirt is spot on, and the music and editing are flawless and the touch with Raiden at the end was so cute. *chefs kiss*
Genshin combined 2 myths into one with Yae Miko. The Chinese Fox Witch myth or legend if you prefer of notorious Da Ji, and the Japanese Fox Deity we all know only as Tamamo no Mae. Both entities are sometimes assumed to be one and the same, as it's impossible to find a proof both confirming this theory as well as denying it. Yae Miko behaves perfectly well like both, she's extremely cunning (duuh, it's a foxy lady) and extremely charming. According to the Legends in China, Da Ji was not actually very attractive, we was pretty, but her seductive abilities lied elsewhere, and Tamamo no Mae was not exactly knows to use her powers the same way as Da Ji did, even though it's debatable how she achieved so much influence. Setting all that aside, the depictions of both, are very much alike, with distinct differences, and a lot of similarities. I currently am on 33 wishes for Yae Miko farming.
@@MrBitsy Well, Yae Miko is servant of Raiden Shogun and Raiden Shogun wants to kill a traveler. So Yae Miko might help with it PS: i know that Yae Miko helps traveler in game, im just writing random stuff
I mean, her burst line is literally “I’m always watching” and she knew that the traveler was going to be in a samsara (trapped in a loop) months before sumeru’s release. It’s obviously not a coincidence, mihoyo’s purposely showing that she KNOWS. When you got her on your tea pot and you ask her what she thinks about your place she says that she’s analyzing it because someone like her (the guuji yae of grand narukami shrine) has to master every knowledge in teyvat.
I really like how Everyone's plan was to save inazuma from the dictatorship(?) Of the shogun, while Yae (the legal wife) wanted to save inazuma AND Ei. There is also the fact that Ei left (more like ghosted tbh) her for centuries, but her loyalty to Ei is unwavering. It also shows how important Ei is to her, she traded the Gnosis for us to Save Ei. Not to mention that Ei/shogun is very lenient with her, to the point that even if she's publicly helping the resistance members, she doesn't face any consequences. Even after she helped the traveler against Raiden, she didn't punish her. Lastly, the fact that she could be sarcastic af when it comes to Ei and openly calls her out on her childishness, and still live is amazing. *Note Yae is not really Ei's legal wife (sadly jk) but rather, she is Ei's servant. The message above is just my take or view on things that happened between inazuma, yae, and Ei. It would still be best for everyone to play the inazuma chapter, read the lore (esp the six kitsune) and etc as it gives more in depth information about the past of some of the characters^^
Just saying but actually no one want to save Inazuma from dictatorship lol. No even the rebels, they just want the removal of Vision Hunt but none of them want to overthrow Raiden Shogun.
2 months late to answer but I believe it is because she's a foxgirl and all 3 kinds of foxgirls in IRL folklore (Chinese "Huli Jing", Japanese "Kitsune", and Korean "Kumiho") are known to have such personalities since they pretty much exist to mingle with human men, if you ignore that some may be malevolent towards humans (especially Kumiho).
