I hope it's not too late but I'd advice not discuss with Arnold about Durandal's backstory as mentioned here as it's the biggest revelation in the whole game (AKA spoiler). He's only up to chapter 9 and that backstory/reveal is in chapter 28.

Theme of the game: Protect all that is beautiful in the world. ALSO: The reason Otto lived so long is because he experimented on himself, creating a body made out of a material called soulium. This body was stronger and more durable, and he could transfer his consciousness into a new body every time the older one was decaying. This also allowed him to create clones of himself. If you want to know why the story continues after Otto, it’s because the Honkai still exists. Elysia and her past helps explain the overarching narrative of Honkai Impact, and it’s pretty complicated because her story takes place during the previous era 50k years ago.

In Honkai Impact 3rd, events are time-limited but they have very few impact on lore or world building. They either happens on a different universe or they are there just for players to chill(since the main story is pretty depressing😂) Also everything the commissioner gave you is permanent

Durandal and Blade Durandal have nothing directly to do with King Arthur, she was just part of the investigation team sent to find Cosmic Juggernaut. 2:21:35 They died 50,000 years ago except for Kevin, Fu Hua, and a couple others. The Flame Chasers in that data space were just recordings of their minds preserved within the digital space known as Elysian Realm. 2:22:55 Yeah... the Hi3 community is a lot smaller than the Genshin and Star Rail communities so getting new people reacting to it isn't that common so some people get a bit... overzealous.

the graduation trip video is kinda like going through the entire game. the beginning of the video is kiana's "end". and the ending of the video is kiana's "beginning" of her story. so the video is going BACKWARDS from the ending to the beginning and thats why himeko is alive in that one shot lol shes still dead in reality

_HI3_ 's greatest strength is how we go on this intensely personal story along with the main girls. We're with them for their highest highs and lowest lows. Neither _Genshin_ nor _Honkai: Star Rail_ have this advantage since when we go to new regions, we leave characters behind. The next greatest strength is that nobody is ever entirely good or evil. Everyone has mixes of both, and potential to do both great evil and great good. We do have antagonists and protagonists for different parts of the story, though. Mihoyo often uses 'unreliable narrator,' which means players learn things about the world at the same time characters do, and this understanding changes over time. What we thought we knew about the Honkai at the start, we now know was wrong at worst, and oversimplified at best. Concepts can also change as the story guys change how stuff works. But they do mostly try to keep things consistent. Which is a challenge when your game is already 6 years old, and they want it to continue at least 6 more years.

For graduation trip kiana seems like going back in time cause the last bit if it i dunno if you noticed the little that tripped in the snow was kiana the very same kiana that seigfied left in siberia yes tiny Kiana (not bianka) was left alone to fend for herself somehow she made it to nagazora years after and met mei (she was around like 15 or 16 before she got to a proper home) siegfried left her when she was about 10.

Imagine the confusion when they learn about houkai gakuen and houkai gakuen 2 as well as genshins name was supposed to be honkai 4th but they changed it to genshin instead.

Fun stuff about the "lore videos" you've watched the stories of each of these characters is playing out simultaneously. While some chapters focus on specifict ones the others are not frozen in times and deal with their own arcs. And yes most of the story is presented as a visual novel. It's also currently my easy pick for top 5 stories of all time. And it probably is an easy top3 if not my all time fav as of this moment. It's simply the Hero's Journey perfected with a lot of waxing philosophical on what being a hero even means and how it relates to the whole of human civilization.

Quick summation of what Otto's deal with Kallen was in the video: You can't change the past, not really. Otto's been trying for 500 years, and has failed many many times to bring Kallen back to life: IE, you can make a new body but you can't put the mind and soul of a dead person into that body once the soul reincarnates. He does a lot of bad stuff, ultimately turns into a new Herrscher himself, and does a 50/50 coinflip with the entirety of humanity on the line to finally get what he wants. That's why he's the villain; He's risking all of humanity for one woman, who died 500 years ago. In the end, the monster he fought was an amalgamation of thousands of different Ottos from different times and timelines that had failed to reach the giant golden tree and save Kallen. When he touches it, he creates a new branch - creates new possibilities in the past - and effectively creates an entirely new timeline/branch of timelines where Kallen didn't die. He disentigrates himself in the process. Also he did love her (both romantically and platonically), but she was very lesbian. He didn't care, and he wasn't angry about it; He wanted her to live because he caused her death, and because he saw it as a universal wrong that he had to correct. The world was better off with Kallen, no matter what, to him.

You did so good Cal, I'm actually surprised with how well you managed all that information! It's a lot when it's all just thrown at you like that without any prior knowledge. 2:13:55 the events have their own side storyline that is not related to the main game story (it's like a parallel world, it doesn't involve these characters). Everything you've seen in these videos is part of the main game and you can still experience it all even if you only started playing today (it's never too late to start, there's so much still to experience even after all you've seen here). The game thoroughly explores the themes of identity, love and hope. Also very gay. And yes, it has that visual novel style with some fighting in between that you can button mash your way through. The only external context you'll maybe need is in the mangas they've also made, but there's only a few and they're pretty short (there's one that's a little longer than the rest but it's soooo good). There's also three straight up visual novels that tell the backstories of some characters (like that Durandal adventure with Shakespeare), but most people don't fully check those out

Hey! Just letting you know that in the vid explaining fu hua's character, the Himeko that got "killed by her comrads" was not the Himeko that we/you know. She is actually a woman who happens to have the same name and appearance as her do to most characters having look-a-likes in the previous era.

The ending is pretty similar to a madoka magica situation, so hunter wasn't far off. It was just one of those jjk, madoka magica, sacrifice yourself and be sealed away and bear the burden of the entire world by yourself in solitude in order to save the world kind of thing. It was very entertaining to watch, thank you for reacting to everything! You got the vast majority of the stuff right! So much so that I'm not going to go "Achtually..." Regarding FOMO and events, there is very little main story stuff locked behind special events - there IS a giant meta-quest and alternate universe stuff that does NOT (for the very most part) touch on the main story. The events have a separate continuity and story called "The Captainverse" where there's basically the "player character" going off doing a bunch of stuff with alternate versions of the characters, and there's some tragic, heartwarming and lovely stories that you won't actually need to see because again, it's meta-story that doesn't really touch the main story. There's 3 visual novels, Durandal's visual novel, Anti-entropy's visua novel and the Seven Swords (Fu Hua's) Visual novel. Of these, Durandal's visual novel and Anti-Entropy's are translated and free to play, and are mostly stand-alone. However they're REALLY wordy so I can't in good faith recommend them except to die-hard fans of the series. Some clarifications (I lied about going "Achtually"...)-Spoiler warnings! It's never stated outright, but Otto is effectively immortal because he picked up "Void Archives", a relic from the Previous Era. He learned how to download his mind into a liquid metal body, so he did this about 10,000 times and just kept a whole load of backups of himself whenever he got killed. Elysia and the flamechasers mostly died in the Previous Era, but their minds were ALSO kept on file as digital simulations, so they could teach the people of the new era stuff. They were all hanging out for 1500 years in a digital realm called the "Elysian Realm" which Mei visited. Unfortunately, an AI Herrscher came in and corrupted the whole place, and they all died again (eaten by the AI Herrscher), then Elysia got brought back to simulated life and then she resurrected all her friends out of the AI Herrscher, and then they all exploded in a blaze of glory, which wraps up the Elysian Realm. Mei got some good memories out of the whole place and calmed down from her emo phase. Lastly, after Otto rewrote the past, the main universe didn't change. In order to defeat the Honkai, Kevin made a plan (Project Stigma) to put everyone in a communal dream, to turn all their physical bodies into dreams (which is effectively killing all of humanity), then from that communal dreamscape he would create a new humanity made of "ideas" who had no physical bodies and thus couldn't be harmed by Honkai, but also held onto humanity's ideals and culture. All humans would die, but "humanity" would live on. The plan sucked and everyone hated it, even Kevin. The one alternative plan was Kiana becoming a Super Herrscher (The Herrscher of Finality) and absorb all the Herrscher power, and then seize control of Honkai itself. But in order for her to do this, she had to defeat Kevin with the power of Friendship. Kiana does so, and absorbed the power of Finality from a thankful Kevin (he's actually a really nice guy, just a bit upset that everyone he knew was dead) and becomes a god, who will just move all the Honkai energy to the moon so humanity can rebuild. While she's in the proceess of moving everything to the moon, her new god powers basically allows herself to see through time and space and the times where everyone has a happy ending. (Also, once she got to the moon, Mei visits frequently so she's not alone up there!) So you weren't actually wrong - it is lots of parallel dimensions where everyone's happy!

All of the Flamechasers died TWICE, except Kevin, Fu Hua and Griseo. Otto's fight against his clones take place 500 years after Kallen's execution; ...so he's hacking Yggdrasil. Star of David: IIRC this is the symbol of Salomon and it's on something called the Genius Device, which enables Navigation in the Sea of Quanta - AFAIK it's just used as a symbol of wisdom and mythic knowledge, not religion here. Otto was only one of the enemies, the other was Cocolia, then Kevin and even he only tackles the Honkai problem in a destructive way; managing the Honkai finishes Kiana's arc and leads to Graduation Day; the there are Sa in the Sea of Quanta and whatever lurks on Mars.

The earliest trailers are from 2016-2017 when the game was released. Back then there was no PC version, this was a mobile only game, and a unique one, before HI3rd there was no mobile game with similar 3D graphics. This game inspired PGR and other high quality mobile games, and it get PC version only in 2020 months before Genshin release. Hoyoverse is a universe, with many worlds. It's the Imaginary Tree, and each world is a leaf of that Tree. Star Rail travel trough those worlds of the Imaginary Tree, HI3rd main story plays one such world, as well as Genshin, and EVERY Hoyoverse game. Yae Sakura is a Variant or Expy of Yae Sakura like Raiden Shogun is of Raiden Mei.

if you really want to dip into the lore more I recommend watching the Homu Labs videos. He does a really good deep dive analysis of the lore and honkai universe workings

calling the honkai evil is kind of wrong, if i would need to compare, its more like humans (in this case the honkai) do experiments on smart animals (humans) and see how they reacts to different situations and crisis. while the animals may be able to interact with the humans, its imposible for them to realy understand them. and most antagonists in the story arent evil either, while they may conflict with the main cast, they still try to save the human race. its just that they have reasons to be less "naive". good example in this is kevin who saw his civilization destroyed and the real horror that waits at the end. (an almost omnipotent being, that can not be defeted by force). and we are talking here about a guy that is so powerfull that he can mop the floor with all avangers combined, while he is blindfolded and using only one hand.

i'm gonna save this to watch later :U (edit) only got halfway through the video so far but interesting to see some of what you picked up/figured out from just the videos you've seen so far. the comments probably have a few people already explaining certain points to you. as for getting into the game, it's uhh....quite a lot to get through. the game released 2016 but the global version came out 2018 so there is several years worth of story at this point. when i first started it in 2018, it was a bit overwhelming to get through the start and learning about all the stuff in game but they've shaved some things down/redone some things over the years so not sure how the new player experience would be like nowadays. but up to you if you want to give it a try.

The reason why there's a Raiden Mei and a Raiden Shogun as well as to why the Unknown God looks like the Herrscher of the Void, is because the three games Genshin, Honkai and Star Rail are universes inside of the imaginary tree. So you can think of those three games as parallel universes.

without spoiling the game For the most part You can replay a majority of this game and the cutscenes are archived HOWEVER the events are not the only time you get to rewatch them is during a re-run HOWEVER There are some chapters you can only play once and once only which is unfortunate because i played a few chapters that i wasn't suppose to and the only way i can replay them from the start is if i replay the game on a new account HOWEVER you can replay maybe 75% of the game and 100% of the story's cutscenes are archived so you can watch em when ever you want i played up to a certain point of the game on my mobile account, but i am now replaying the game to get back to where i was.but this time i haven't played the chapters i wasn't suppose to on my mobile account i hope that makes sense

Apart from the slow start, it's actually not hard to get into _HI3_ . You can also start the Part 2 story once you get your account to Lv30, with the new characters on Mars. That takes 3-4 hours to access, depending on how much you skip, and whether you follow the Starter Manual.

The previous era was 50k years before the current era. The previous era's himeko was the trigger for Fu Hua to fight the honkai. Previous era had specific soldiers that underwent biological experiment to fight the honkai, those soldiers are called the MANTIS. Among them, 13 MANTISes formed an independent organization thanks to a certain crazy rich most famous diva that turned MANTIS named Eden funding that organization. Those 13 called themselves Flame Chasers. Kevin Kaslana and Fu Hua were the members of the Flame Chaser, along with that green haired genius lady named Doctor Mobius, who was one of the person responsible for the MANTIS experiment's success. The other person responsible was Doctor MEI, but Doctor MEI didn't join the Flame Chasers. Basically the 13 Flame Chasers are all quirky. Elysia, arguably to be the strongest female Flame Chaser (Kevin is the strongest "male" Flame Chaser), was actually a herrscher that loves humans. She loves humanity so much that she labelled herself as Herrscher of Human, but it wasn't until the late game that the other Flame Chasers realized about this and still accepted Elysia as their comrade. Dr. Mobius prepared a simulation world in case humanity lost against the honkai so that if few humans survived and start building a new civilization, they would learn from that simulation world about the struggle their predecessors did and come up with their own way to fight against the honkai. That simulation world is named Elysian Realm. Dr. Mobius copied every 13 Flame Chasers memories and personas into the realm so that visitors can converse with them. Kevin Kaslana and Fu Hua were amongst the few that survived. Kevin became the godfather of current era's Kaslana clan. Kevin also formed a new organization called the World Serpent and took it to himself the management of Elysian Realm. As he knew how bad the honkai was from the previous era, he made World Serpent to do anything as long as honkai gets eradicated in the end with any cost. Yes, he turned radical. And that's how Mei got into Elysian Realm because she joined the World Serpent... If the current era we have Kiana Kaslana x Raiden Mei ship, then the previous era had Kevin Kaslana x Dr. MEI ship.

Otto is a tragic person, but is also hilariously petty. He’s ruled Schiksal and kinda the world for 500 years, and also MADE a video game franchise called Kallen Fantasy where Kallen’s girlfriend, Yae Sakura, the pink girl with fox ears, is the villian and you have to defeat her and get Kallen to marry Otto. All Otto’s schemes have been trying to save Kallen. At her execution, which she had accepted because she was willing to be a scapegoat and die after losing her girlfriend, he tried convincing her to escape which she easily could have done, but she wouldn’t. He released Honkai monsters at the execution to force her to break out to defeat them to protect people, but that got her killed. For 500 years, he’s tried everything he can, cloning, which made Theresa, making Herrschers happen by kidnapping kids and experimenting on them until Sirin happened, and he eventually manages a way to change the past. So yes, some of the flame chasers and Kallen Kaslana are playable, but they’re still dead except Fu Hua and Griseo who was in space when they died. What he’s trying to do is almost impossible, and where he is is littered with Ottos who failed, he’s trying to fight destiny itself. He reaches the Imaginary Tree”, a structure of the cosmos whose branches are timelines and leaves are universes and creates a new timeline where the only difference is the creature that killed Kallen didn’t have claws, so she killed it, and as you see by the Tree growing new branches, that single difference makes universes of possibilities. (This didn’t change our own main world’s history)

Different from Genshin, Honkai Impact time limited events happen in another universe, with no relation to the main story/world/dimension. The characters in these events have the same appearance as the ones in the main story but they're not the same characters either, so you lost absolutely nothing by not playing the game on time. For example, Kallen who is dead in the main story, a version of her is alive in the universe where the events take place. So all the elevant content is intact, and in Honkai Impact you can also replay individual parts of the story even after you finish them. About all the confusion between the Kianas and Kalens and everything... Kevin is the first member of the family Kaslana, from 50 thousand years ago. Kallen is Otto's childhood friend and a member of the Kaslana family from 500 years ago. Kiana (white hair) is the protagonist of the game, she's a clone of the original Kiana with Sirin's genes. Bianka "Durandal" (blonde hair) is the original Kiana that lost her memories in an accident. Siegfried Kaslana and Cecilia Schariac are Kiana's parents. The game has a lot of plotlines as it shifts your perspective between characters a lot. One time you're following Kiana, the other Bronya, Mei or someone else. The player doesn't have a main character, we're just seeing the story through the characters own eyes. Honkai Impact also gives us the base for "the Hoyoverse." In this game they talk about the Imaginary Tree, which all Hoyo games are part of. Genshin and Honkai Star Rail are also in this tree of worlds, but in more distant branches. Another world in this tree of worlds is the Captainverse, which is the alternate universe where Honkai Impact time limited events take place. That's why all these games have characters that look the same, it's like different versions of a person in another dimension. Hope this helped somehow!

Something you should know is that there are infinite Previous Eras. At the end of every Era, humanity fails and is destroyed, and the final Herrscher resets the world. It’s influenced by Buddhist and Hindu cosmology where the entire world and its inhabitants reincarnate. Because all progress is erased it just always repeats until the people of the Previous Era were able to do a Union X thing, where they over 99% all died, but halted the cycle. This meant our Era is the first that could benefit from the previous world’s ancient ruins and technology and knowledge, but will be the end of humanity forever if they lose.

Herrscher of Domination / The Legion Herrscher: Takes control of others via depression, turning them into puppets it can control. Kevin: Once an ordinary high school boy who became interested in the brainy girl, after the Honkai disaster changed everyone's lives, he joined MEI in the Firemoth Organization, and underwent training and the MANTIS operation. Kevin became the strongest warrior of the Previous Era, ranked #1 in the Flame-Chasers, and the one to carry out Project Stigma, as well as helping Hua with Project Ember. After Dr MEI's death, he became obsessed with purging the Honkai, regardless of the cost. His best friend, Su, believed Kevin had crossed the line and went too far, so he used the Seed of Sumeru to take him into the Sea of Quanta, where he would be trapped. In the Current Era, Kevin was released from the Sea of Quanta, and became the Sire of the World Serpent, an organization founded by Mobius and Grey Serpent to carry out his will. Kevin was also the progenitor of the Kaslanas, although he never used the name himself. Game-wise, he was created as an Otherworld male counterpart to Kiana in _GGZ_ . In _HI3_ , he plays the part of an antagonist, taking the stage after Otto. Kevin was one of the only people with experience fighting every Herrscher in the Previous Era, and he knew how powerful the Herrscher of the End could be. He therefore stole the Authority of Finality to prevent a real Herrscher of the End from manifesting, and became the last boss for Kiana, Mei, and Bronya to beat. The other Flame-Chasers were the last warriors of the Firemoth Organization who survived the Tragedy of Binding. The organization was founded by Elysia to bring them all together, and their memories, experiences, and abilities are preserved in the quantum supercomputer known as the Elysian Realm, which the World Serpent inherited together with its caretaker, the ELF Klein. The versions of the Thirteen inside the Elysian Realm are simulations who are aware of being simulations. Elysia: The mysterious Pristine Girl who has an obsession over cute girls. She has seen humanity at its best and at its worst, and afterward chose to join the Firemoth organization. She will always welcome anyone warmly and try to befriend them, no matter who they are or what they've done, causing others to wonder at her motivations. She founded the Flame-Chasers, and gave the #1 rank over to Kevin. Herrscher of Corruption: A virus that sprang up spontaneously, infecting robots until it was able to get into the Elysian Realm, where it ran wild. It is obsessed with surviving no matter the cost, and copied a bunch of what it saw and experienced. The Flame-Chasers featured in the virtualized '90s anime landscape were Eden, Mobius, Kalpas, VILL-V, and Aponia. They gave their code to rematerialize Elysia. The post-credits showed the Flame-Chasers before they joined the Firemoths: Pardofelis, Hua; Griseo and her parents; Mobius and Klein; Kosma and Dystopia; Sakura and her little sister Rin, Dr. Su; Kalpas; VILL-V; Eden; Aponia; Kevin (with the Legendary Kaslana Baseball bat). To stop Herrscher of Corruption from being able to spread, the Flame-Chasers basically trapped it in the Elysian Realm, and then deleted everything, including their own data. So yeah, the sims aren't around anymore. The ones who have survived, and may have survived at this point, are Kevin, Su, Hua, and Griseo (she was sent away on a Project Ark ship, but they lost contact with the whole Ark Fleet shortly after they left Earth.

The only thing that absolutely cannot be rerun was the _Evangelion_ collab. They had to agree to a one-time, limited license to do it, so it's never coming back. Only people who played then could unlock and keep Asuka and the related costumes. Everything else has a chance to rerun.

BTW, neither Kevin nor Otto wanted to destroy the world. Kevin wanted to purge the Honkai, and Otto wanted to revive Kallen. That's it. Their methods, though, were things others couldn't agree with. Sometimes it pays to read what's going on in the video. If you have to pause to discuss something, I very much doubt anyone would mind. However it probably would have helped a lot to have someone on with you who was familiar with _HI3_ so they could explain things, and clarify the points you were confused on. Here is a rough timeline, and keep in mind it was a repeating samsara: *50,000 years ago.* Previous Era, the highly-advanced civilization of Mu: The Firemoths fight the Honkai. Dr. MEI, Dr. Morbius, and VILL-V create technologies like stigmata, battlesuits, and the Divine Keys to help humanity fight the Honkai. Each Herrscher defeated came at a heavy cost, until the Herrscher of Corruption infected a Firemoth base, and launched their nuclear weapons, destroying the three remaining human cities. The Herrscher of the End's power was so great, that even Kevin could only delay her a few hours. Dr. MEI had no choice but to rely on the Project Stigma and Project Ember components of Project SAVE to ensure humanity's future. Those who would lead these projects were sent into cryogenic sleep, as Project Ember was designed to guide humanity and advance it to help them save the Honkai, and it was headed by Hua, who was immortal thanks to her MANTIS surgery, and could use her Divine Key, _Fenghuang Down_ to preserve or shed her memories. In one samsara, Elysia manifests, and joins the Firemoths. She establishes the Flame-Chasers, although they were never officially recognized, and they leave a legacy to be discovered. CURRENT ERA Post-Roman Empire: The religious organization Schicksal is founded by Houses Apocalypse, Schariac, and Kaslana to fight the Honkai using crude Honkai-powered weapons. Schicksal props up European princes, but becomes increasingly interested in power for themselves. In the 14th Century, Schicksal attempted to conquer Shenzhou (China), and were stopped by the Celestial Phoenix (Fu Hua). To recover from their defeat, Schicksal raised taxes, which of course he people hated. Kallen heard rumours of Schicksal's corruption, and took on a role of justice by night. All the stuff with Otto and Yae Sakura happen, and Kallen is set to be hanged. Otto released Honkai Beasts as a distraction, and everything got upended. Otto later becomes Overseer of Schicksal, and continues his experiments. He continues to transfer his still-living mind and soul between clones made of Soulium to keep himself alive, but couldn't do this for Kallen since she was already dead. 1952: The First Honkai Eruption - Welt Joyce is recovered by Schicksal, and experimented on. He gets to know Einstein and Tesla. 1955: Schicksal North American Branch becomes Anti-Entropy, led by Welt Joyce. Otto attacks, and Joyce sacrifices himself. Joachim Nokavertanen becomes the new Herrscher of Reason, changing his name to Welt Yang. 1970s: Advancing his plan in cloning, Otto creates a new series of Kallen clones. While they fail to become Kallen, A310 is closest, and she becomes Theresa Apocalypse. 2000: Sirin awakens as the Herrscher of the Void at Babylon Labs. Schicksal and AE forces converge to investigate, and end up having to battle Sirin. She retreats to the moon, where the Will of Honkai gives her additional Herrscher Cores. She revives her friends as psudo-Herrschers to attack humanity, alongside a Honkai Dragon who she's given Herrscher-level powers and the name 'Bella.' Fu Hua, Theresa, Siegfried Kaslana, and Cecilia Scheriac are all deployed. While fighting Fu Hua, Sirin copies the powers of _Fenghuang Down_ , and uses it to try to trap Sieg and Cecilia in a nightmare, but it always goes to their happy married life. Curious and upset, Sirin inserts herself into their dreams, and finds them treating her like her daughter. She is almost calmed down, when she senses Bella dying outside the illusion, and becomes enraged, renewing the fight. Sieg goes to the Kaslana Stigma Space, where he is tested and awakens the Stigma powers. Fearful of Sieg opposing him, Otto launches Honkai missiles. Cecilia uses _Abyss Flower_ 's forbidden technique to protect them, and her last moment together with Sirin is a hug. Sieg joins AE. 2014: Third Honkai Outbreak in Nagazora Japan. Raiden Mei awakens as the Herrscher of Thunder, and is stopped by Kiana. Afraid of what she might do if it happens again, Mei attampts to jump off a roof, and Kiana stops her again. Together with Bronya, they run to escape from a Nagazora overrun by Honkai Beasts and Zombies, and that's when Murata Himeko intercepts them. She offers to bring them to St. Freya High School. an academy for Valkyries that Otto let Theresa build in the Far East (Japan) in Cecilia's memory, since she had wanted to build a school where she could teach Valkyries to treasure their lives more. 2016: The start of the game. Kiana Kaslana, Raiden Mei, and Bronya Zaychik are dispatched to intercept the floating battleship _Selene_ before it can crash and destroy the city of Sapphire. They later graduate from St. Freya as full-fledged Valkyries, and are dispatched to retrieve the Gem of Desire, which ends up being inside of Wendy, the Herrscher of the Wind. The rest of Part 1's story happens. 2018: Part 1 ends, Part 1.5 starts. Yes, 6 years' worth of story happens within two years' time. Also Griseo comes back, and she's not little anymore. 2023: Part 2 starts. Urdos Helia and Coralie 6626 Planck are dispatched aboard _Hyperion 11_ to investigate the energy signatures on Mars, and get pulled into bubble universes, Langqiu and Oxia, in the Sea of Data, a specialized part of the Sea of Quanta. This is the current story. 2026: A Post-Honkai Odyssey: Raiden Mei, Carole Peppers, and Adam are dispatched to St. Fountain, South Africa to find Welt Yang and his adopted son, who have gone missing. Bronya Zaychik, Timido Cute, and Lyle Colludi are later sent as reinforcements. Additional note: Bronya was working on games with Welt as part of Reason Studios, but she is also the in-game CEO of Mihoyo, and created an in-universe version of _HI3_ based on her and her friends' experiences as Valkyries, therefore characters in the Honkaiverse can be seen playing the game at different times. Sometime after this is the _Alien Space_ manga, where Void Archives, using one of Otto's clones, goes with Welt Yang into _Honkai: Star Rail_ to protect that game's Himeko from the Sky People, who are the antagonists of APHO. No, I'm not joking, not even a little. Parallel to all this are the Captainverse events, or 'Cap's Bizarre Adventures.' They feature another _Hyperion_ drifting in the Sea of Quanta, and they go to different bubble worlds and meet alternate versions of familiar characters, like Fallen Rosemary, Haxxor Bunny, Luna, Kongming, Fervent Tempo Delta, Kallen, Yae Kasumi, Magical Girl Sirin, and Kriegsmesser Himeko. Sometime after 'Captain's Ranch Tale,' Haxxor Bunny leaves the _Hyperion_ and goes to _HSR_ as well. She learns _Aether Editing_ on Punklorde, and ends up joining the Stellaron Hunters as Silver Wolf.

As much as people like to interpret Kallen and Otto's relationship as romantic, it was more of a platonic one. If there ever was romantic love, it was one-sided because Kallen only ever showed interest, the romantic kind, towards Yae Sakura, either in the official manga, in-game or in the anime. Alt universe Kallen even flirts with Yae Kasumi alt or variant from another world/reality of Yae Sakura), so you could say they fall in love in every universe. The Kaslanas really only fall in love with the same Japanese woman huh. As many people said in the comments, Kevin is the ancestor of Shicksal's House of Kaslana. Since he was a MANTIS (human with Honkai-beast genes acquired via experiments/surgery), all the Kaslanas are like super soldiers who specialize in fighting the Honkai. Kallen is Kiana's ancestor from 500 years ago, while Kevin is 50k years old. Also, Kevin is supposed to be/ play de role of the Kiana of the Previous Era. In a Genshin analogy, it's like Rukkhadevata and Kusanali, each samsara has a dendro archon, which are counter-parts/ alt versions of one another. What's fascinating is that both Kevin and Kiana started fighting the Honkai with only a baseball bat trying to protect their loved ones, yet their endings were very different. Kevin's story is the bad ending, while Kiana's is the happy one, and one of the reasons why Kiana could have her happily ever after was thanks to Elysia's sacrifice in the Previous Era. She broke the chokehold the "Will of Honkai" had on the Herrschers so they could still keep their humanity in the Current Era. And this big event, among others, was what Kevin intended for Mei to learn when he sent her to the Elysian Realm. We always joke about the main antagonist being a guy named Kevin, but the thing is that it fits perfectly with the story. He really was just some dude who cared about his friends and had to take matters into his own hands to save them. In the end he willingly played the part of the villain for the sake of humanity, much like Elysia did.

Okay. Let's see what I can clarify here while recalling this video. Also it looks like the Playlist left off anything happening in part 1.5, and the flame chasers ova. I have yet to read any of the Mangas or visual novels. Shout to Homu Labs. First off, Kallen basically went to Japan, had a lesbian awakening with Yae Sakura before Yae killed her own corrupted sister and Kallen was dragged back to Europe for her execution. So, to clear up the Fischl, Raiden, Kallen lives, Natasha, etc. stuff, to my knowledge basically all of Mihoyo's properties take place in the same multiverae extending from the imaginary tree, a big ass tree in void space that's constantly in conflict with the sea of quanta, the space Seele was lost in. The tree and sea are always trying to take each other out. Now, main branches on the tree are different types of worlds (Genshin, HI3rd, HSR, GGZ, etc) with snaller branches as time splits, and leaves being worlds at periods of time. Teyvat from genshin would be a leaf. Now, when those leaves fall into the sea of quanta, they become bubble universes, steadily corroding until they collapse. As for Fischl, her appearing in game was one of those worlds. Can't recall if she was just a game character made in that one or if she was real though. Also the same happened with Asuka from Evangelion working with a Bronya to fight angels. These are separate from the bubble worlds explored iduring AU events in what's dubbed the captainverse starring the self insert captain where you get the expys, the look alikes of characters that exist in various games. Like how Mei has Raiden Mei (HI3rd), Raiden Shogun (GI), and Acheron (HSR), like Yae Miko and Yae Sakura, like young Himeko and vampire Theresa. The main exception is Welt from HI3rd and HSR are the same Welt. He just jumped branches. As for the Flame Chasers, or Pink Jesus and her 12 Apostles, they were the group that fought the honkai in the Era before the one in game. Elysia became the herrscher of human when fighting the previous era herrscher of the end, allowing future herrschers to control their power. Unfortunately, all of them died, some instantly, except Fu Hua, Griseo , and Su. Meanwhile, Elysian Realm, which was a simulated space, was taken over in the current era by the herrscher of corruption. As for all the extra lore, there's Mangas, visual novels, and side modes in game you can play. There's an easy to find play guide. Though the events are kinda just either for fun or an AU.

Let me answer the question about the game is still enjoyable if you downloaded it today - Guaranteed 100% Yes. Compare back then it was almost hell to grind mats and crystals. And the game is very generous to newcomers today. If you're into story, you'll definitely love Honkai Impact 3rd stories. "Its wholesome and positive story". The gameplay maybe a bit overwhelming at first but it had a better and satisfying one compare to Genshin. It might feel a bit boring at the beginning but its becomes better and better. I do recommend to play it. Specifically until Chapter 11 Ex then decide whether to continue or not. But really, atleast try to finish the arc 1 story it at your own pace. I enjoyed the video, compare to the first one there are alot of things happened in the game before the animation so it definitely not make a lot of sense. Ow and there are two stories in Hi3, the main story where you get these animations and Captain Verse stories. At the main story, we captains don't exist, while the captain verse is our story. Both of them almost equal to each other.

“They are gay hunter!!” I mean, Honkai Impact 3rd hardly has someone who is heterosexual. Kiana and Mei are officially girlfriends, Durandal and Rita almost feel to be a married couple, Kallen and Yae Sakura, and Elysia and Kiana state that they to only like girls, Bronya and Seele are also officially girlfriends and even had an official kiss in an animation and comic that got HoYoverse called by the Chinese government (still HoYoverse always finds I way to still support and create GL as they enjoy). They even have BL like with Kevin and Shu. Although the BL kind of appears more in other products than Impact 3rd.

Don't worry you're not too dumb to understand it. Honkai is pretty text heavy, and not even some Honkai players properly understood some of these. Plus the Chinese are a bit more poetic with their words and Honkai impact 3rd never got the kind of English translation/localization team that Genshin and Star Rail got. *Because of you/Elysia:* 50000 years ago as a last stand of humanity there were 13 augmented super soldiers unofficially called the flame chasers. These 13 included Elysia, Kevin, Fu Hua, Eden, Aponia, Mobius and the rest you saw in that animation. All of these except for Kevin and Fu Hua (and 2 others you don't need to care about) died with the previous era (the old human civilization that was eradicated). Inside of a computer simulation called the "Elysian realm" the personalities of these 13 flamechasers exist and in order to gather information that will help with fighting the Honkai in the future, Mei enters this digital world to question them for answers. Over time you grow attached to these characters and unfortunately since this is Honkai, the next big bad Herrscher turns out to be a computer virus that has made it's way into the realm. At the end of the long arc, only Elysia remains standing against this Herrscher which she intends to defeat by sacrificing her AI self with this giant pink archer lady which is actually basically a self destruct button for this virtual world. (Whoops what I wrote below was written before the Otto Apocalypse chronicle video came on, so this will repeat some stuff but also explain it a bit "simpler") *Thus spoke apocalypse/Otto*: The origins of both Otto and Kallen play during the middle ages around 500 years before the main story, and Kallen is indeed an ancestor of Kiana. During the middle ages, the church of "Schicksal", just like Christianity during the middle ages irl, held a lot of power. When Kallen found out that they, as well as Otto who she liked/loved, were experimenting on innocent people with Honkai technology, she stole an artifact and ran. Far away from Europe she met the pink haired girl called Sakura and fell in love with her. Unfortunately since it's Honkai, Sakura was possessed shortly after and had to be killed by Kallen. Kallen was left gravely injured, found by the church and brought back to Europe for her trial. She wasn't sentenced for being a witch but for being a traitor/heretic. Otto tried to talk her into running, but at this point she had completely given up on live and accepted her execution. On the day of her execution in order to save her/take her away, Otto released a captured Honkai beast on the execution grounds. However seeing as innocent people were being killed by this beast, Kallen freed herself from her shackles/noose and fought it unarmed. Otto's plan backfired and Kallen died saving the civilians. After this Otto lead a rebellion against his sister and brother in-law (who were leading the church) and seized power. He figured out a way to create clones of himself and transfer his consciousness between the bodies. Over the next 500 years until that animation you watched he did nothing but figure out a way to revive Kallen. Theresa, who you saw in the first part of the reaction was a byproduct of his attempt to clone Kallen. He cloned, created androids, tried Herrscher powers, and most importantly he looked for parallel universes in which Kallen lived, unfortunately one such parallel universe did not exist. Ultimately what ended happening is that he needed to 1) Get someone with the Herrscher of the voids powers, which is also the whole reason for this game's story and Kiana's existence. 2) He manipulated the main cast into fighting him which enabled him to get to that Tree. The Tree is basically the construct that all parallel universes are attached to. In the animation you see him create a parallel universe in which Kallen survives. He did not change the past of this world's timeline, basically story-wise he did nothing to impact the narrative at all. He sacrificed himself to create a world in which Kallen had not died. Let this not take away from the fact that he is responsible for the death's of the first Herrscher (who was a good boy), million of people in Siberia, Kiana's mom, Himeko, Fu Hua (before she was resurrected), millions of people in the far east as well as all the suffering that our Kiana, Bronya and Mei have been through. Despite all of that, he cemented himself as a villain that you can't help but feel some sympathy for in the last moments. Also Hunter was correct, Welt Joyce is indeed named after James Joyce. But more interestingly the 1952 Honkai eruption of Berlin that gave birth to Welt Joyce started in C.G Jung (non-genderbent) who Welt most closely resembles. Einstein, Tesla, Schroedinger, as well as Planck and Edison exist in Honkai and are all genderbent version of their real counterparts. Also Honkai impact 3rd does and does not have the same problem as Genshin with events and fear of missing out: -Honkai does not do canon story through events. All that is part of the main story universe in Honkai impact is available always and without restrictions, you are even given fully equipped and leveled characters to do the story missions. -You can replay almost all parts of the story at your leisure. The format is stages within chapters aka Chapter I Stage 1, Chapter I Stage 2, Chapter III Stage 5, Chapter XXII Stage 5. -Just like in Genshin, events are temporary. However the events are about **you** as a protagonist (not-shown), traveling through different parallel universes. So they are not 'canon' to the main story. -Those events are rerun from time to time, but still relatively rarely

Why are you confused by the Genius Device? It said what it was when it appeared. And I don't know what you're talking about, star of David? Pretty sure it's a Hindu or Buddhist symbol, which fits better because there are samsaras and kalpas here. The purpose of the Genius Device is it lets people navigate the bubble worlds.

Hahaha Idk how this list was made but this is a very complicated order and turn of events that make people more confuse, some parts of the game are so out of context and there are mising ones like when showed the 13 flamechasers only showed the first cast but didnt show the second one and needs much more lore info to comprend the importance of the previous era, for Otto is dificult to express in some words but quoting Durandal "in a shakespearean analogy... he is not just Julius Ceasar or Macbeth... he's also Claudius, Othello and even Hamlet, he is a cruelly beautiful and magnificently evil piece of art" thats why for many he is one of the best antagonist from games and even anime, about why Bianka/Durandal/original Kiana is blonde is not mentioned here but Otto messed with her hair color and memories when he was healing her after the failed abduct of K-423/Kiana, not complaining but yeah its to be expected to be confused, btw with how much lore there is in this game, there could be made multiples animes, like there are visual novels but I mean games, theres the Previous Era, the time when Kallen and Otto where young, the journey of Bianka/Durandal and Rita, the Ani-Entropy and more
