Gentleman Jack S01E08 Track 1: The Sacrament by Murray Gold **the official soundtrack isn't out yet this one is an isolated track from the actual episode hope you enjoy!
The way the season finale played out was so touching. I love that it was important to commit to each other in the sight of God, & the deep spiritual meaning behind The Sacrament/Communion. Two of the Seven Sacraments are Matrimony & Communion. I believe Anne Lister thought this out very carefully. According to Lister's journals, she took her marriage very seriously, and was monogamous for the rest of her life.
she was fitful to Ann walker, regardless of the fact she married her for her money primarily and she took Walker on her travels, warring about her mental health and she would be praised for that. Man at that time (if Walker married one) sartorially would not be fitful or concerned about her health but they would marry her and spend her money as Lister did.
I said I'd never marry but that was before realising I loved women with such passion. I will marry and when I do, I want this exact track as the wedding music playing in the background Thank you for this show
Soso0197 same when I was 13/14 I said I wouldn’t marry and after realising, I wanted a different track to my wedding (pachelbel cannon in D major) now I want this one!
I'M SCREAMING!!! THIS LONGER VERSION IS MORE BEAUTIFUL!!! THE BUILD UP AND SWELLING OF THE MUSIC AS THEY TAKE THE SACRAMENT IN THE CHURCH!!! I LOVE IT! 😍THANK YOU! ❤️❤️❤️
This video and this soundtrack are my secret place... The joy of knowing this event actually took place 200 years ago The way Suranne and Sophie act, their chemistry The directing Thanks for sharing it, I hope the soundtrack will be available one day!
I don't think that I've ever found such an Idol to look up to as much as I have found in Anne Lister. I am now back in school doing a report on her because I just feel like her life has to be shared with those who understand it. I've never felt such solidarity, Clarity, and strength in my own sexuality than when I did when I was watching Gentleman Jack. Suranne Jones is now one of my favorite actresses in the entire world. I'm a pansexual woman with an intense love for this great lesbian Powerhouse of a woman! Oh and the nature and the beauty of this scene literally causes my heart to soar with such incredible feeling of happiness completeness as you see them marry each other and give themselves to each other forever! This scene is so inspiring. I find myself incredibly moved to tears with pride and self- confidence and happiness!
The most powerful and sentimental thing about this whole scene with the score is that it just shows the emotions of these two women. Like Anne just wanted to marry someone she loved as well, and she finally found someone who was willing to take this official commitment with her (Ann). This should be able to show how important it is to have the right to marry the person you love in front of God. This whole episode was just beautiful.
Porfin una bonita relacion donde las protagonistas no mueren xq en las otras series acaban muriendo gracias dios x esta serie sufrieron pero x fin felices😢😢😢😘😘😘😘
A union based on love, respect, honour and selflessness between two people no matter the sex is a truly gift from God. Sexuality experienced between two women is as old as the ocean itself and has it's valued place in society. It has a right to exist because it deserves to exist.
When I first watch this scene I wanted someone to sneak up behind them and say, “let’s have a proper wedding at your house ms lister” and then to say “I now pronounce you wife and wife” something like that. Obviously they can’t cause it wouldn’t be accurate.
Awesome video. Thank you. My unpopular opinion tho. I understand AL wanted to have in place the tradition that, in her opinion, would validate her marriage. But for me, in my particular humble opinion, trying to be part of a religion, that says homosexuality is an abomination and we should be stoned to death, and to propagate and perpetuate it is doing ourselves a disservice. I particularly embrace science, which I consider a much better ally. It hurts me so much that these two amazing women didn't have the same rights due to religion. It hurts, I won't deny it. It breaks my heart.
Brilliant music, smooth muscians gives me chills. All through the series excellant series music. Would love to find the CD if out. Of course all the cast are well played. Look forward to seeing and hearing Season 2.HBO..🇺🇸🎩
The ones where they are putting on Rings is also so romantic. They know they can't openly declare their love or be recognized as "Married" but in their Hearts they are "Married" to each other. Their Rings also are so symbolic Anne Lister's Ring is more "Masculine" where Ann Walker's is more "Feminine".
I don't know, if i like someone like her, oh, i want to be like her! Maybe is because i like women little older, 🙈 Only I'm really sure, is i falling in love whit this show, is soo realistic, and she's are really good actors!!
Thank you so much i was dying since the first episode to find the music of the awesome composer Murray Gold. can you please send me a link where i can find all the Soundtruck of season 1. If it's you who edited it i would like to thank you for this one and beg you to do the same for each episode. Especially the song when she just came back to shibden Ep1 and was unpacking her case the same music you can hear in the proposal scene with a ring in Ep6 and the Pit Hill reunion scene of Ep8...
Anne Lister was a brilliant woman.. She inspired me by her story. If she only can see us/ LGBTQ today. She must be proud what we have , Too much freedom for LGBTQ.
Taking the Sacrament in Christianity signifies commitment. You're committed to Christ, but to them it can mean they are committing to one another. Anne Lister was rather spiritual and probably saw taking the sacrament as ceremony of commitment.
It's weird but her wearing her hat in the church seems rude to me. I know men remove their hats but ladies can keep their's on. But she's wearing a male style hat without a hat pin or elaborate hair style so take it off.
