Installation of the Mazda Fog light switch including interior switch install.
This is for the 2021 Mazda CX-5 but will also work for the 2017 2018 2019 and 2020 CX5 year range.
In this video I will show you how to remove your bumper, install the fog light kit, and install the interior switch.
Part numbers for the kit are.

Your video was very helpful, thank you. However, you don’t need to take off the bumper, I did it from the bottom. I removed the bottom slid cover and both right & left ends; and in a set of ramps was easily accessible. 🙏🏼

I just bought a 19 touring trim with preferred package and the only thing I wish it had was the fog lamps. I like them for the same reasons. I'm definitely going to get this kit now that I know about it and install it. This is super helpful thanks for the post.

This is crazy. The fact that we have to remove the bumper to install lights is nuts

Fog lights should be a standard safety item for all vehicles made after 2015. That's ridiculous.

This is a great video. I didn't realize how easy it was to install the fog lights on my CX5. I have ordered some fog lights for mine and look forward to adding them to my CX5. Thank you. Also, I'm planning on putting running boards on mine. That would be a cool video.

I have a question, I have a 2021 cx5 sport and I would like to install the fog lights kit, is the fog light harness in the car pre-installed, or do you installed the harness as well? Also, where did you buy the kit?. By the way, this is an awesome video, thanks for all the explanation.

Sorry I'm just seeing this. Yes the harness is pre wired there you just plug into it. I bought mine from a friend that works at mazda.

Thank you! Finally to see a fog light install video for the CX-5, you think it's possible to do this without removing the bumper? Maybe you could make a video on how to swap the tail lights for a GT one? 😉

So I think it's definitely possible. If you have access to a lift, I think removing the belly pan and doing it from under the car would be rather easy. Unfortunately with many not having access to a lift and how easy it is to remove the front bumper, this is likely the best route for many people. Tell me more about swapping tail lights for the GT, is it just plug and play? If so I'd gladly snap a set up and do just that.

@@baldydoes Yes they're plug n' play. Removing the tail light is the easy part but removing the inner tail light (on the lift gate) is a challenge. After removing the interior panel trim, there are bolts to be removed that's holding the exterior piece where the Mazda badge is. I think after removing the bolts and clips, you probably just pull out the exterior piece and go from there taking off the reverse light. I'm hesitant to do this but also worried I may be stuck.

@@baldydoes I was able to install the fog light kit from underneath by putting the front end of the vehicle up on ramps and laying on the floor (a creeper would have been helpful). The wheel well liners on each side have to be partially detached so you can reach up behind the bumper cover. All of the screws are fairly easily accessible from there. My wife was apprehensive about seeing the front end of her new car dismantled, so removing the bumper wasn't really the best option for me.

Mine was a touring model, so not lowest model but second teir, and it was. I do believe they are. The 2022+ do not use this style fog light but I believe they do still have wiring since only the US market did not receive them.
