Second part of our Geocaching Tips section in which we explain how to obtain the coordinates of a cache with the help of Google Maps.
Although this method does not invalidate the coordinate averaging, it is highly recommended when the accuracy of the waypoint is not good (i.e. when the waypoint measured with the GPSr is not located where it should be). This situation is very common in the city and is where using this method is usually the best option.
We also explain here how to convert the decimal coordinates provided by Google Maps in any other format, including the traditionally one accepted in geocaching (degrees, minutes and thousandths of a minute).
