I actually like this geodesic dome better than the old greenhouse Rob. The plants are certainly thriving in there. It will be lovely in winter. I am sure you would be able to hear the plants growing if you listened really carefully ☺
They are not very strong at all, they recommend not exceeding 30kg for the total strut weight. I wouldnt use them for windy locations or where you expect snow.
At last the dome episode! 😅. I bought one of the kits after a visit to yours but I've still yet to get around to putting it up, looking forward to it though. I didn't quite get why it failed though, did it blow off the stilts in the high wind? I'm doing a similar wallipini concept but with a rammed earth wall so I can espelier some fruit trees. Wondering if that will do well in Wind and maybe pressure from the Snow on top in the Winter ? Guess time will tell, looks like a good project, back to the Forrest you go!
