Thank you so much for this podcast. I was almost 8 years old when my older brother who was just about to be 12, died in an accident on my grandfather's farm while we were working there. This event has played a major role in my spiritual and emotional development. It has been over 50 years now and I still grieve his absence. I have been blessed to have reminders and encouraging experiences that remind me of him and my parents and grandparents. No one knows how it feels except for those who have gone through it. I don't know what it is to lose a child, but I was up close and personal with my parents who did. I am so glad to hear your beautiful healing story of faith and commitment to see and be with your little bear for eternity.
Thank you for this kind comment. I'm so sad to hear of your loss--even though it was over 50 years ago. Loss is still loss. I think it can change the trajectory of a person's life. I love that the Balkmans are sharing their story to help others in their journey, as it is a journey. Again, thank you.
Wow! Powerful and beautiful, my heart breaks for you, but I also have a testimony that our loved ones let us know that they are still with us. Thank you all. Can we get a link and info on their foundation?
Thank you! The link to their foundation is included in the notes, but there isn't much on the website yet. Hopefully they will have that up in the near future.
BEAR is such a powerful symbol. I have two twin bears in my bathroom on a baby ceramic bench. I love bears, i think I'll name one Carson. I remember. Camping by myself in Yosemite. I ate a can of tuna fish and buried it in the ground and put a large rock on top of it, and went to bed. In the middle of the night, the sound of his tongue woke me up. As he walked by my tent, it vibrated the ground. So I knew it was a huge bear. So much Tears flowing, but love their faith. What an incredible family.Thank you for the powerful sacred story.
I know. I seriously don't know how they were able to share their story without crying. They are strong. I think it's because they recognize how much Heavenly Father is holding them in His hands.
