I'd love to see an interview with Avi Kaplan if that could be arranged. He did a lot of acapella stuff with Pentatonix, but he does he own music now for the last couple of years. He's a great bass and I personally would love to hear what tips he has as well. (And it would cover the final trio of phenomenal basses that people compare on various social media platforms. Geoff Castellucci, Avi Kaplan, and Tim Foust.)

Growing up I didn't hear of a lot of bass singers, Tennessee Ernie Ford, (16 tons) was one we heard on the radio...AM radio. There were some Gospel groups that had a few, that I liked. But in a small town in Nebraska, in the 60s and 70s those guys were hard to come by. I have known about Avi Kaplan, and Tim Faust for a long time. Just the other day I ran across a reference to Geoff, so I checked it out. Hearing his story and Tim's story I find inspiring. Thanks for this video!

Geoff told that he had to work for his bassvoice and had to move his way up. Does that mean I can train my range to be thaaaat big ? So i mean to the low end. High end ist obviously trainable. Im 18 now and can hit a C#2 nearly always i want to. So could there be a chance that i can build up a similiar (maybe not the same but similiar) Low range as him ? Because im defnitely not a one of the guys who woke up at 14 and having a missive bassvoice. I mean i've been singing for 1 1/2 years now and i for sure got deeper while training it but i guess the Voice is not konstantly getting deeper that way. Would really preciate if you could answer my question even if you just talk about your expirience :D Really nice Vids man, keep going.

At thirty-five as of this month, my bass journey is still in its infancy. I have had the D2s and occasional C2s; and occasional Bflat1s since I was a teen. Jeff and Matt are completely right about vocal maturity and relaxing. I have found when I am completely relaxed and not paying attention, I hit D1s and lower (that is really rare because I am so tense and high strung). When I do and actually TRY to do it again, I am unable to do so. I fully understand where they are coming from. In my experience, they are completely right about vocal fry as well as recording yourself and singing in front of a mirror. Both are things my vocal when I was a voice major for a short semester always harped on for me. Being a well-rounded musician is great advice too. I love this video and the advice in it. I don't know if they have videos on here but, I would love to see videos from Rodney Britt, Tim Storms, Gary from A Capella, and Tim Foust. Love this video and channel.
