Thank you for another great reaction to Geoff. If you really want to be blown away by Geoff then you must please please do a reaction video to Voice Plays cover of " Peaches " ( Bowser, Mario, Luigi & Toad ). Geoff really unleashes his inner Rock God in this one. Look out Eli, Geoff is coming for you lol. At the end one of Layne's daughters makes a cameo appearance as Peaches. They did this outside & live. I swear these guys have too much fun ❤️

I loved the distinct voices of each brother. It really felt like there were 4 people going forward into the fire and the desolation of Smaug. I don't think Geoff is ever in danger of not being remembered.

This is a sequel to Misty Mountains. This cover is just absolutely amazing, and I cried while listening to Geoffs cover. He just continues to completely outdo himself with every song, and I am here for it! loved tour analysis and reaction. I do not mind it when reactors pause the song to react.

At 3:27 it's a thing he's used a few times recently: he will start a note in chest just above the note, mix in some chest fry, and finish the note as a subharmonic. I have tried it and I cannot do it, and I am a low bass and quite good at subharmonics. Geoff is constantly evolving and dropping jaws.

I'd love to be able to control those subs but I find it to be extremely hard😅

@@YBPlaysMusic, it is very difficult to learn the control part. It took me months of work and I still have days where it won't be perfect. Subs are very difficult to do live for this reason: some times you go for a sub and miss it by a semitone and there is nothing you can do; sliding subs is often a no-go... you either hit it or you don't.

We really get to hear his higher ranges here. I love Geoff’s bassy goodness but it is the baritenor and tenor that really did it for me on this. I am pretty sure that all the music is originally done on his keyboard and plug-ins applied. His acting is top notch in this. Thorin glanced over with such a somber and melancholy look. And all of his lines are pretty somber as well. Geoff and the other two dwarves have more of a tone of gearing up for battle to me. But Thorin just seems like he’s reflecting on the near certainty of death and is in mourning.

Filmed at Layne and Tonys Pattycake studios. Eli does the lighting for all Geoffs videos too.

Yes, this song is from the second movie, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and the dwarf characters from Misty Mountains Cold return for this cover. The dwarves (and the "clone" names) are, from left to right: Kili (Geoff), Bofur (Jeff), Fili (Goff), and Thorin Oakenshield (Daryl). Geoff says clone Jeoph took the video off. Rick Underwood did a fantastic job of recreating the looks from Misty Mountains Cold, reusing the actual hair pieces from that video. Kathy pulled the costumes and props together, reusing pieces from MMC, with a few new pieces as well as some from other Geoff videos, such as The Rains of Castamere. Fun fact: The snare drum sound was created using a shovel in dirt and in sand. (Also, spirit gum remover is a godsend to Geoff LOL) The low notes are all chest voice except for the F1 subharmonic at the 0:30 mark.

Geoff does all the backing on his keyboard using plugins to give the different instrument sounds. Actually he does quite often thank his fans and he has recently been thanking the highest rate patrons personally by name. Which is nice.

Of course they look alike because they're supposed to be the same singers. Of course, they're all him, singing a different song from the Hobbit

This song brings tears to my every time as the images of what the dragon is doing as they sing their death dirge. The music always sounded like wings pumping in the back ground the deep thunder of the wings sweeping up and crashing down. The horrifying shadow of death and destruction flying overhead. The line about the tunnels should bring more terrible images when you watch the hobbit and they find the skeletons grouped together in a room. All were burned alive in their own made golden tombs. This before we even know of the Balrag. This song I see warriors watch in petrifying terror of not being able to do anything but watch your friends and family be burned alive, eaten or dropped from the sky by that gigantic dragon Smaug who is there for their home and the vast wealth it holds because swords, knives, arrows are all useless. Greed begets Greed in this deadly moment. All you can do is accept the inevitable of a horrific death. Smaug came because of the massive amount of gold and gems the dwarves had collected , never happy with what they had. In the end Smaugs Greed was his demise by the greed of all races. Fabulous version he holds the tremble of fear in his voice along with acceptance of it all. I think it is now my absolute favorite. Ed Sheerens version is more like a bard singing the song in a tavern as others listen. This version is the Death Dirge of Dwarven warriors who have accepted they cannot do anything watch those they care about die before their own deadly demise.
