There is true sincerity in Geoff's singing, no matter what song he performs. I think this is what allows him to convey emotions so clearly through his music- the honesty with which he approaches the lyrics and meanings of the music. Oh, and that section you kept rewinding and replaying? You're not the only reactor to do that. His voices weaving and alternating in intensity and volume- just magical. And those lovely, slightly dissonant jazz chords he adds in... Geoff is such a musical genius. We're so lucky to be able to hear and appreciate his music in the moment.
OMG...This song is soo beautiful and this cover is amazing. The simplicity of this and the harmonies are absolutely awesome. Geoff's vocal range is outstanding. This is a cover I did know I needed till I heard it on Patreon. Every time I listen, there are tears. Great reaction!!
Geoff is not only an accomplished singer but also a wonderful artist. This song, like Sound Of Silence, really invades all of our senses in Geoff's voice.❤
Love that he didn't push an extremely deep note... we all know what he can do! Not necessary here because the song got all it needed and Geoff's additions and variations are enough and gorgous by itself! So perfectly done! And your reaction too... 😂🎉❤
Absolutely beautiful. I love John's version but I love Geoff's even more. Brings tears to my eyes every time I listen to it. These 2 are the only versions I've heard of this song. Geoff said "he got absolutely 0 requests for this song." Why did he do it? He doesn't know except he felt the time was right. And it was the right thing to do. On Patreon we've all encouraged him to do songs he wants to do rather than requests. We are all so proud of him for taking that step. Next step is an original Geoff song.
This is one song that I typically don't like the covers of. Bohemian rhapsody is another. This one warmed up on me though and now I find it very soothing.
I agree with you about playing piano. I wish I had lessons earlier. I did start playing pipe organ in high school, but didn’t take piano lessons until college. That’s when I discovered that my feet are a lot more talented than my left hand. Without them to fill in the bass line my left hand can’t keep up!
For personal reasons this song is depressing to me. That said, I love this version of it. I'd not heard it before watching this reaction so I nearly didn't listen to it. If you weren't my favorite reactor and I didn't trust you'd bring us a good, strong, honest review then I'd have never heard it. Thank you for sharing and please don't stop reviewing anytime soon.
